I note the way there is a "If you could have one WW2 fighter..." thread (LINK) and this "If you could have one WW2 attack plane..." thread.

We already have fighters and ground attack planes.

What would make for a richer difference to the DCS WW2 scene would be...

  • a transport aircraft,
  • a strategic heavy-bomber,
  • an artillery spotter,
  • a maritime patrol seaplane,
  • a reconnaissance aircraft,
  • a liaison aircraft,
  • a dive bomber,
  • etc., etc.

lol i know we already have fighters...but there were more ww2 fighters than the 6 we have in game right now...

As for ground attack planes, we do not have any planes that were dedicated to this role. I'm thinking about planes like the IL-2, Ju-87 etc.

I'll make another thread for these lol

"a maritime patrol seaplane,"

I would advocate for a Consolidated PBY-5A! I grant you that making an amphibious plane work in the DCS World would be a huge challenge but I have no doubt whatsoever that it would pay for itself before Early Access was over!

The Catalina operated in every theater of operations and fulfilled just about every role there is except as a fighter. Anybody in this community that couldn't find something useful to do with a PBY module just doesn't have any imagination! :megalol:

Either the Havoc or the Sturmovik, can't decide which. But I'd certainly pay top moolah for either.

The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

Since we only have Normandy as WW2 map I'd say Hawker Typhoon, without a doubt. P-47 would be my next choice, but that is already being made.
