w4rlord117 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 On the topic of that, does anyone know how much messing around you’d need to do with the throttle? is it just a set and forget?

If I can imagine it's going to be like the MI-8 and require a minimal amount of throttle unless you want to not use autopilot. 1 Modules: AV-8b, Ka-50, Mi-8MTV2, Mi-24p, Uh-1h, F-18c, F-16c, F-15c, F-14b, F-5e, A-10cII, Mig-21bis, Mig-19, L-39za, Jf-17, M-2000c, FC3, Su-25t Key: Professional - Learned - Barely Fly - Learning - Never Touched

Great, I don’t have a good way to set up two throttles so I was worried it might be a real pain to fly.
randomTOTEN Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Throttle (actually called "Corrector") is left at 100% the entire flight. Helicopter automatic systems control engine output and you never touch it under normal conditions. 3 2
Rabies Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Did anyone else notice that the engine temperature gauge on the front cockpit section were not working? Great tease video though, looking forward to it.
Lampshade Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Referring to the time stamp - is the mirror disconnected from its frame a bug or is it like that in the real hind? Looks very odd when the door is being closed. 5

As you need to monitor the EGT during startup to cut the fuel when having a hot start, I guess, it's not yet implemented or Comrade Wags missed a switch. It's working in the Mi-8, so should be the same in the Mi-24. @Lampshade Regarding the mirror frame, I noticed that also. Looks like an early build with some glitches.

Seing that the instrument was working at the end of the video means it is working, might not be working correct right now or Wags missed a switch.... I was just pointing out that the instrument worked later in the video. The mirror also catched my eye. No artificial horizont, no speed/altitude/etc. information on it, just aiming reticules and that's it - same as on Su-25 so I don't expect to be a huge fuss turning it on. 1 Helicopters don't fly, they just subdue the air. I am vaguely familiar with the HUD from the Su-25, it's simple and just works. Point, and shoot. JetCat Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I personally do quicker rather simplified start-up procedures almost all of the time. As absolutely precious and wonderful it is seeing every electrical system, circuit, hydraulics plus all these superdetailed systems having a test-switch-setting-function, for the pure sake of flying it makes not really any sense clicking some system test buttons hidden deep in the back of the cockpit because it is impossible to look at the warning light announciater panel in the front of the cockpit at the same to see if these complex and detailed system tests are really working and lighting up some verification panels somewhere else far away. But one can surely keep a button pressed to it`s SYSTEM TEST setting in VR while the camera can be panned to a different cockpit view angle at the same time with headtracking These system tests are more for super-immersive hyperrealistic 3D VR cockpit experience.
