FWIW I've experienced no issues whatsoever.  In fact, I feel performance has improved, though that's completely anecdotal.

My setup isn't too great either:

Intel i7-8700K
32GB RAM
NVidia GTX 1080Ti
HP Reverb G2

Noob question here. If I update to win11 should I format my pc and reinstall everything?

i would get a good backup of what you have now, upgrade and see what it does. then if it sucks, format and reinstall. i think most folks are okay with only step one.

Just curious. Are you guys doing the clean install of windows 11 or the update via windows 10?

I'm normally one for fresh starts, but for Win11 I updated from Win10 Pro.  You may prefer that route, because then you can easily roll back to Win10 (Settings->System->Recovery and choose “Go Back) if you aren't satisfied, as long as you do so within 10 days.  After that, if you needed to go back to Win10 you'd have to install from scratch.

I did have some issues with WMR at first, but I seem to have found a workaround for those.

Also, the Windows 11 version of WMR allows you to un-tick auto-start for WMR if you have a headset plugged in, which is a major improvement over Windows 10 if you ask me!

(I did a fresh install of Win 11 Pro UK x64)

I upgraded to an i5-12600k and installed Windows 11.  DCS is fantastic.  Big improvements (20-30%) over my previous i7-8700k and Windows 10 setup.

Totally off topic, I just have to say thanks to the Eagle Dynamics team.  You do incredible work and it is greatly appreciated.

I'm sure that most of the improvement is because of the hardware you updated .. the difference that Windows 11 may give is minimal.

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar

Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

I would assume so as well, although the Thread Director feature of Windows 11 is (I'm told) necessary to extract maximum performance from Alder Lake CPUs.

I wouldnt know, as I use AMD rather than Intel, so my experience with them is limited ... but there have been benchmarks published that have left me rather cold about moving to Windows 11, for example:

https://www.techspot.com/article/2349-windows-11-performance/

I was forced to move from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 when the Oculus Rift software stopped working on the older Windows .. now I will probably do the same and delay any upgrade until I feel a real need to do so.

I agree waiting is generally wise.  Microsoft always seems to take a while to sort out its new OS.  Of course left to my own devices I'd probably still be on XP.  😛  Hey, it worked!

For Alder Lake CPUs the Windows 11 Thread Director distributes tasks between the performance cores and the efficiency cores.  Windows 10 won't do that.  But if you don't have an Alder Lake CPU the benefit isn't there.  There's nothing about Windows 11 that impresses me.

and maybe forced to go from 8.0 to 8.1 lol. i know i dealt with many updates in managed services support. though i went from 7 to 10 because 8.1 was not my favorite. though it is better than vista and nt 3.51 (with novell) 😄
