What I don´t get is: its up for review and still getting New features?

Yeah, IFE have submitted a build to ED back in November but have been working on additional details since then - further FM tuning after getting feedback from RL 339 pilots for example.

It would be interesting to understand if the new physics related to in-flight refueling will be introduced with the new 3D model of the S-3, as announced by Wags some time ago.

Bye

ED, you surprise me but in a great way.  I thought that ED did not want to bother with the bombers, but today's news announcement changes that.  Mission and campaign creators are inspired to come up with new missions.

The models are only to replace the current AI models (which are 20 years old at this point) and were slated to be updated in the 2021 roadmap, along with several other assets.

I will say this about the Bombers: Although the plan is to introduce a new flight model for them, I wonder if it'll be possible to leave the FM until later? I mean, it's not like these things are doing to be doing Thunderbirds maneuvers. Or is the plan to just update their payloads and put them ingame once the textures and damage model are ready?

Will the animations be there for the flaps, wing sweep, spoilers, exhaust nozzles, etc? Will these new AI aircraft have somewhat of a realistic flight model?

AI aircrafts and other 3D models has a great range of animations. Actually AI has SFM (Simplified Air model) but ED has working on GFM (General Flight Model), with improve them on combat, flight and formations.

I wouldn't mind a player flyable B-1.

Just doing takeoffs and landing would be a riot.

Isn’t the B-1B being withdrawn soon? You’d imagine that would make a DCS flyable more possible. The number of remaining BLUEFOR airframes of the 80s-90s is getting smaller.

Lots of nice things and a nice mix of stuff. MB-339 is just beautiful. you can really tell its made with love. Day one buy for me. S3 looks to be in an advanced state and along with the Buff done to a much higher standard than I expected. Much higher. Very pleasing. Not sure where the Lancer is. I aint Facebooking for no one 🙂

WW2 aircrft havent grabbed me in DCS but the F4U looks great. If i was told I had to buy the F4U in order to see F8 I wouldnt complain but I dont think it'll struggle in that regard somehow nor should it.

Nice Start to 2022.

Well the B-1B would be nice to have or the B-52. DCS needs something big and fat to fly around and manage. I think we might see a C-130, that would be good.

Whats the point of flying bombers in such small maps like DCS has?🤔

They are not that far off though: at the moment they have pretty ridiculous roll and yaw rates.

1 - Fun takeoffs.

2 - Fun landings.

3 - Fun plane management.

4 - Fun dropping lots of big ******* bombs on things you pretend not to like.

Who care's if it's a map that doesn't have a five-hour flight time. Precious few would actually fly the five-hours anyway. The Syria map and the PG map absolutely have enough elbow room to have fun in.
