Today, June 2nd 2021, is the 75th Anniversary of the Italian Republic - and we thought there was not a better day to announce our second commercial project for DCS - since, in real life, it was one of the biggest successes of the Italian aerospace industry.

DCS G.91

The G.91 is an Italian jet fighter aircraft of Cold War era designed and optimized for Strike and Recon missions. The G.91 originates in the NATO NBMR-1 competition in 1953, which sought a light fighter-bomber "Light Weight Strike Fighter" to be adopted as standard equipment across the air forces of the various member nations.

The G.91 was declared winner of the competition in 1958 and entered into operational service with the Italian Air Force in 1961, and with the West German Luftwaffe in the following year. It was also evaluated by the U.S.Army and adopted by Portuguese Air Force, who made extensive use of the type during the Portuguese Colonial War in Angola and Mozambique.

We will develop the following version: R1B (Italian version), R3 (German Version) and PAN (aerobatic version converted from the A version).

We have no release window at the moment - and needless to say screenshots are preliminary.

I don't understand how the G91R happens to be a novelty, since it was announced in 2021.

If I remembered correctly, G.91R incoming by IndiaFoxtEcho had been revealed months ago. It was mentioned on other topics or videos, but not today.

So I assume this was the last of the new reveals? Since this wasn't a true new reveal. I guess they don't have any more for us in the coming weeks.

The G-91 isn't exactly news, but it was never officially announced by ED. As far as that goes, established devs typically announced their projects before ED officially did under the old policy. I think we might have one more announcement to go, but I'm not sure.

BTW, anyone has a recording of the Luftwaffe version of "Give me Operations" by Ecki Sudmeyer? It was on YouTube, but it's gone now.

One more is coming

To the G91:I am looking forward to it. Great choice but as others have already said, it has been known for some time... just not yet officially announced by ED

I'm crossing my fingers for Red Star's MiG-17. I've been wanting that aircraft since I first saw their work on it last year. But their Facebook page hasn't shown any activity since March. I hope the project is still alive

Even if i don't buy it, it will fit well in with cold war stuff. Soon(ish) the cold war servers can have; MiG15/19/21/23(possibly 17), Su22, and F86 ,F100, F5, F4, A7, F8, F14, G.91R, Skyraider, and probably something else I've forgotten about.

IFE mentioned this for quite sometime. As the "flash sale" ends on 2nd Oct, I would expect the MB-339 available some time afterwards. Okay, MiG-21, here I come.

Yep, want that Mig-21. Have to wait for the sale to kick in on Steam in three-days. Oh well.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Waiting the last 3rd party, I thinking all incoming was , but by them, can be a actual 3rd party proyect.

The G-91 was announced by the dev’s themselves a year ago?

If that's the last of the four it's kind of ending with a whimper. I'm sure it will be nicely done, but doesn't seem like an E ticket ride.

No, missing other 3rd party module more. But I think can be other actual 3rd party project (M3?), no a new 3rd party.

I think it's quite likely at this point. If they had something that the community doesn't already know about, they'd have announced it before the G-91. Unless, of course, they know that we know that, and have saved a big surprise for the last. 🙂

Yeah, G.91!! One of my favourite aircraft and made by what it seems to be an excellect 3rd party dev.

I wish a '50 server with just gunfighters of every nations, not only a korea scenario. Like, G.91, F-86, Mig-15/17/19, F-100, A-1H, WWII aircrafts and who knows: maybe a Hawker Hunter, F9F, F-80, Mystere, Vampire, F-84...

Since the G.91 wasn't a surprise at all that sale came out just when I needed - thanks!

G.91 was news to me. I'm into props, not jets so much. Still, that instrument panel looked really good and G.91 is an historic intriguing jet.

The Italian group behind the free MB339 and the coming official MB339 wants to do another Italian plane? Bless them.
