Do we know if the CH-47 will have ai controlled guns?

Given all other helicopters with gunners can(Huey, HIP, Hind) which are from ED i assume the Hook will have it too.

“With the capability to cover extensive distances swiftly, the CH-47F can be outfitted with extended range fuel tanks and is compatible with air-to-air refuelling, thus extending its operational range further than ever before. This capability underscores the aircraft's adaptability and endurance, making it a formidable asset in any fleet”

As far as i know only the MH-47 has the possibility of aerial refueling. We getting an us army ch-47. Will it have air refueling?

Also, the backup instrument is completely off. Also seems to be way too light. Here's a list of things I pointed out, that I believe are wrong;

  • The backup instrument is completely wrong in the CH-47F
  • Some caution advisories are missing, taking into account that they were even displayed.
  • Pitch control links don't seem to be connected to the pitch control arms
  • Chronometer isn't on
  • Spotted that the slip indicator was perfectly neutral in a left hand bank

Chinooks fly over my dwelling regular I hear then well before they arrive so must bag this module not far from me near "tony martins" house not the singer , one was hovering over a farm dropping something off not sure why or what but strangely strange but oddly true. Nice one ED.

They do fly low...but are so loud there's no trouble getting out with a camera before they fly over.  Had a Crashhawk circle once, my guess is because I more or less appeared out of nowhere with a BFL pointed at him.

Guy on the left's face was visible, so I Gimped it out by copying the masked man on the right.

Yes, I'm saying if the brits used the M60 on their Hooks even through they normally don't even have that weapon in their inventory. Then there's probably a reason both the Americans and brits used them on the hooks so long.

Only because there were so many m60s and thier door mounts for helicopter use in circulation that it took a long while to replace them all?

Us army didnt start mass adopting m240s until the tail end of the 1990s.

There is no technical advantage of an m60 over a m240. It's only to be used for Vietnam nostalgia. Or i guess larping being shafted by your armorer, being unlucky enough to have your specific helicopter in the aviation regiment equipped with the last handful of heavily worn out m60s in circulation in 2000s?

Interested.

But I will wait for M-134 Miniguns and Multicrew (Copilot and Crew Chief) for purchase.

Can we have a Refuelprobe and Big Fuel Tanks as fictional additions to the CH-47F? Not that I want a MH47E SpecOps Variant at all... But I really like to have options. 🤣.

What about Multicrew?
Pilot multicrew is certainly planned for the early access release, but door or rear-gunner multicrew support is planned for after the early access release.

Thanks. I've seen the FAQ and knew about it. So I will simply wait until they have a functioning Crew Chief position.

You dont see cargo on the ground, you dont see the rear wheels touching the ground on pinnicle landing etc. Don't see much point flying this bus without a human crew.

Hey guys. Found some new stuff that's wrong with the Chinook. These are called the AFCS ports, and I assume they're sensors for the DAFCS. Completely missing on what was shown

And to back up on the standby instrument thing, here you go:

Well, despite it not being a steam gauge D model and despite not having touched the Apache for about a year after my first attempted flights put me off it, I bought the Chinook. I was going to leave it and maybe get it in a future sale (cos of not really being happy with glass cockpit and therefore not wanting to shell out the full price amount for it), but I thought any future sale is unlikely to reduce it by more than the current discounted amount, so might as well grab it now 🙂

Does anyone know the exact controls for the MFCUs? Like, what each hat, trigger, and switch does? All I know is that it's capable of hooking onto thing, like viewing/tuning navaids, and dropping waypoints.

The MFCU does a lot of things, but there are also quite a few buttons that aren't really utilized. The hat on the top left will change which MFD is SOI. The China Hat in the middle is your slew cursor. The Castle Switch on the right will cycle through available Maps, ie., VFR sectional, IFR Low, JOG, TLM. The single button below the China Hat.... can't really remember what it does. Don't use it very often lol something to do with changing modes on the MFD that is currently selected as SOI. On the bottom, there is a trigger which is used to "Hook" a NAVAID, FIX, Friendly/Enemy icon, Overlay, etc. This will open a drop-down with a bunch of different options like Data, Direct-To, Reroute, etc. Below the Trigger towards the bottom of the grip there is a roller, kinda like a mousewheel, that sucks and nobody uses. Will scroll through menu options, but it's not tuned very well and scrolls way too fast. (The China Hat can be pushed up or down to scroll through options as well). There's also a single button on the bottom that will uncage the slew cursor so you have full slew control on the moving map, instead of the map being centered on your aircraft. Then there's a boat switch that does absolutely nothing as far as I'm aware.

Army helicopters strangely do "farm" work, or general humanitarian work. I've seen Blackhawks guide animals to their gates, Chinooks drop hay bales, etc. I believe it's mainly NG doing that

Here in Oklahoma, the NG uses them for dropping hay as well during extreme weather events..such as massive flooding/extreme drought. They are also used for combatting wildfires. A Bambi Bucket/Wildfire mission would be cool to see in game.

How does the 'force trim' or the cyclic magnetic brake system work on the real aircraft?

Posted

Mag brake releases the spring tension and lets you set the detent of the controls. Trim moves the cyclic forward and aft but only affects the dafcs components in roll. So it doesn't move the cyclic in roll. The trim also has different functions in the dafcs hover modes. CH flies differently than any of the other aircraft that we have now, including bank angle hold and airspeed hold that is active all the time in forward flight. I really hope these things are included and doesn't come out as a generic flight model.
