That is what I hope will not happen, because that's how reputations can get unnecessarily tarnished: People talk bad about the new F15E release. Just some bad phrasing on one side, and too high expectations on the other. All because of some flawed messaging.

Now, let's put this back into perspective: I don't think it's a terrible mistake. And I also know that there are better ways to phrase your message. We'll see what happens in a few days. 

I believe we are. That's why we are saying 'oops, bad messaging'. We want RB and ED to succeed. We want this release cycle to be a great expedience, with everyone walking away happy. Past releases have had a somewhat spotty history in this regard, and I'm hoping that this one becomes a roaring home run for RB/ED. That somewhat unfortunate phrasing does not heighten my confidence, though. Hence the slightly worried faces. We'll see. My credit card is charged up and ready to go anyways  

 

 

Even using the term "release" to apply to early access becoming available is misleading, imo.

I think it`s just human nature. Some people don`t read carefuly, or thinking "Well it`s preorder so release will be soon". But if we read carefuly:

"The DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle by RAZBAM has entered our final validation and testing phase. The  pre-order, which comes with a 30% discount, is currently planned for the 15th of February, 2023. Once the pre-order begins, we anticipate the F-15E to be released into Early Access a few months later and perhaps sooner.?" From "Oficcial News 2023

Thanks for the updates.

In 2005 the F-15E still used the Lantirn? Is the exact same targeting pod as in the F-14? I know the F-15E also carry the lantirn navigation pod but the resolution of the targeting pod is very bad for a post 2000 era.

I was going to but will now wait until I see MT, DLSS, ground AI updates and ATC and maybe the dynamic campaign.

As a MP only player playing PVE missions on a big group server we run ,the current 4th gen planes are flying in a relatively dead world against ground targets other than the odd SAM, a plane this advanced will only show this lack of decent ground AI even more and how carboard they are in their actions. Flying low with helicopters has proven how bad the ground AI is and I really hope it gets a really good update sooner rather than later.

@YoYo you’re posting pictures of the Navflir pod part of the LANTIRN system, we’re talking about the TGP, in the last screenshot is SNIPER for example.

Thas points has none to do with a 3rd Party, has all work on the ED side.

Believe me, with the current state of AI, I can prepare a mission for you in such a way that none of the pilots will reach the goal and complete the SEAD task. I It won't be a million rocket launchers set up, just set with the head and "described" with the available functions - I won't even use any scripts other than what is available directly from the editor.
There are two options
- your missionmaker likes you too much and gives you the opportunity to complete the quest and return without loss, to feel have fun,
- is unable to use the potential of anti-aircraft defense that is available.

The last PvE mission within our community ended with losses of 50% of the starting machines - from about 20 planes, plus 5-8 helicopters, if I remember correctly.

There were missions where after 25 minutes after the start the losses were 100%.

I assure you that even the F-15E will not help much in this topic.

I believe they have said approx 2 months maybe less. I for one will use that time to determine the best time to work the purchase into my budget and get a nice discount to boot. Will I buy on the 15th , probably not unles the tooth fairy puts a lot of money under my pillow.

For people in countries with fluctuating currencies, the discount can be significant. And if your countries currency is currently devaluing then the pre-order can save a lot of money.

It's for fun.

 

New toys are fun. Even planning to get the new toys is fun. A small respite from the grind of being an adult in the real world.
