So, I'll be honest. I'm seeing zero performance increase in either Syria Free Flight or Caucasus ready on the ramp Hornet. I appreciate this isn't really the use case for MT, however. But the terrain shadows performance issue does now appear to be fixed!

same here, max 15fps more. But I had good fps anyway plus a brand new cpu. Yes started it via the new .exe

Still happy! hoping for more complex MP missions

Well. On my my heavily GPU bound (GTX Titan) 10 year old computer, I got a 25% FPS increase on one of my test missions.
So, currently I'm happy, both for me and those of you that don't have vintage computers!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone, remember to get some sleep!

It seems to me that STEAM VR no longer works in MT version. Even putting "--force_steam_VR" (DCS Hangs)

Only works in OpenXR which is not good for me (Valve Index)

SteamVR will be abandoned in MT? Any fix please?

First MT report on VR.  On a 3080 and PIMAX 8kx running OpenXR (Pimax XR), the loading screens have now gone.   The main menu is there and mostly stable.  However, any of the progress-bar type loading screens are now replaced by black screens.    The sim still loads, and loads much quicker than usual, if you wait through the blank screens.  Once in sim, there's a terrible frame lag, almost like someone turned on an incompatible motion reprojection, and with usual fps.   I tried a number of SP missions, with the same effect.  Rebooted and tried again.  Same.   Starting with bin-mt\DCS.exe --force_VR --force_OpenXR command line.      I went back into ST DCS, and now I have around 25% more fps in VR - go figure!   Either way, whatever happened with this update, the performance has improved.  I guess i'll have to wait until the next OB update to see if the visual stability in VR has improved for me.

If anyone has any thoughts, i'd appreciate it - currently difficult to work in the menus in MT mode, as the shaking is worse than the opening sequence of "First Man"

Valve Index. Is there some sharpness shader like reshade but working under OpenXR?

Yes.  OpenXR Toolkit has a sharpness option (under the CTRL+F2 menu in VR).   As reshade doesn't work currently with OpenXR, you have to use the sharpness options in the toolkit instead.

How many are affected by this?

I had to check my CPU and I have nice low number of 16.

I have the 5950X and the sim starts just fine. I do not see any performance gains so I will try to disable SMT next...

Those CPUs have 16 cores 32 threads so no need to disable SMT. Disable SMT only if more than 32 threads.

Prior to MT, I have always been informed to disable SMT. Now that DCS is MT, should it be re-enabled?

edit: Or maybe it was hyper-threading

Works fine with OpenXR (Reverb G1) but SteamVR crashes using the bin-mt exe

Same story. MT preview probably doesn't support SteamVR?🙄

well, mixed felling.

f-18, instant action-caucas-ready on the ramp . vr mode - same fps on the ground. around 60 fps. but - 6ms cpu frame time. from 15ms with ST to 9-10ms with MT. still get increased cpu time when looking to batlle front with many ai units.

not much improvement for me. so i will keep same settings as before. and still need to cap my rtx 4090 to 55 fps.

Are you sure HT is enabled in your BIOS?
