The point is that what's being developed (and what's currently in-game with FC3) is not a MiG-29A. It's a misnomer - the MiG-29A is a different, hypothetical concept aircraft that was never built. What we have in-game (and what's being developed) is simply a MiG-29 (be it a 9.12/12A/12B, though the 9.13 is also referred to as just MiG-29).

It's like calling an apple an orange and it seems to be a problem DCS uniquely suffers from - like calling the HY-2 a Styx, Silkworm or an SS-N-2 (of which the HY-2 is neither), the Type VIIC U-boat a U-flak, when it absolutely isn't a U-flak or the Chieftain we have a Mk 3, when it isn't a Mk 3.

The fix for all of these is a change to a couple of lines in a .lua file each - it should be trivial. Before the .lua lock of 2.7 I would've just done it myself.

It has been discussed ad nauseum already, and it comes down to how much understanding people have of the English language. But I do agree it could have been worded better

That trailer isn’t saying the MiG-29 is coming in 2024. What it does say, is twofold:

- coming in 2024: Iraq

- joining RedFor: MiG-29

When it comes to the latter, there is no defined time included in the announcement.

I understand English just fine. What it actually said is “Coming in 2024, Iraq and joining RedFor in full fidelity, Fulcrum-A.”

i came to DCS for two planes :
one is alredy in game  - F-16
second (most beautiful) -  is MIG-29, which should be relesed in FF version

I love the damn GTA, and this return to a Vice City style and years, it is a must buy! goodbye to DCS for ... another while!

MiG-29a will be another DCS Work of Art. If it comes over the Holidays.. then Merry Christmas!

There are only a few patches left this year, so not sure what to expect. One of them should be focused on Iraq. Better not expect a MIG or Eurofighter anytime soon, then you'll spare the disappointment when it doesn't come.

if you follow how modules came out and how they are in video, next announcement is Iraq, and after that there should be mig29.

so if it comes out, it will be by christmas.

The C-130 was much more subtle, so it might come before the MiG-29? Wouldn't be surprised if the MiG dropped for Christmas, while Iraq will come first it seems.

No chance, but maybe there will be Hellcat plus Marianas WWII in December. Even if it's from the announcement "DCS 2024 and beyond"?

Hi,

Personally, I don't care whether the Mig-29 comes out in 2024 or 2025. ED should take as much time as it takes to get the module to a stage that will be a hit when it's released! Personally, it would be important to me if the release included the following:
- Implementation of GCI (RB managed to do it with the M2k, even if only rudimentarily. And that's already more than we have so far.)
- English-language cockpit
- English manual (not quick start guide!)
- (optional: Please no more of these standard, run-of-the-mill, totally boring callsigns! This aircraft has been followed by so many nations, so surely some cool callsigns can be implemented!)
