What do you want to say with your answer?
I have told many times before you came in here the wish to create a CH53 because it is my favorite helicopter and the best of all Cargo Horses. Sikorsky is the best Helicopter manufacturer in the whole world.

Next update on June 26th. Will ch47 be released? No new videos on the horizon for the moment

Some details on what we are getting would be nice with 2 weeks to go.

Does anyone know if we see our own pilot model in VR, or only from the outside?

Well, apparently, most want it delayed and rather have a finished product.
I am guessing 3. Juli might be rough.

From the CH-47F purchase page on ED's website:

Features to do during Early Access

  • 3D models
    • Pilot and co-pilot models for first person view

Reading this "to do in early access", I think it's safe to conclude it won't be there at EA release.

(I don't want to be negative, but looking at the F-16CM, A-10C II and Ka-50 III, it could very well take years to be added. It usually is very low on the priority list unfortunately. Though, iirc, the Hornet did receive it quite early on, so everything's possible)

Is this still supposed to be released albeit as EA in a couple of days time?

I’d rather be told sooner rather than later if it is gonna be delayed.

Seems odd, no big splash, very little to go on, vids etc. Feels like I’m imagining it’s coming.

Ah ok, thanks! Then unfortunately the pilot body comes later.
I have exactly the same concerns as you. The last pilot models from ED really took too long... 😴
It's a shame, because in VR, a pilot's body is an important thing.

This is my current reason why i hesitate.

If 03JUL24 is rough then the stated time for release on presale should have never been 26JUN24. Just saying... accountability. I understand there can be issues but when it is literally EVERY module, it's an issue with the company over promising and under delivering.

I work construction, it's no different, we have our delays too... But it is far and few between (with ANY company I have ever worked for)  that happens, and is definitely far from being each and every project we do, if it was as habitual as game developers (not just ragging ED as this has become an industry standard) the company wouldn't last long at all. i.e. Over estimate the time it will take to do each project and finish early... Customer happy. Underestimate and delay... Customer unhappy. Pretty simple concept. Just a tip for the Project Manager.

I find it extremely immersive breaking and feels awkward to fly in VR without the pilot model. Gross, it feels... wrong, my brain is constantly checking indicating something important isn't visualized. This saddens me.

Hey, I am just guessing here. I believe they want to avoid any delays. Because there is other things in the coming update.
Personally I work in construction too. I have yet to compare these two branches myself. For me a delay means I have to stay longer away from home. It has happened more often than I care to remember.
a deley of this new toy, I can actually live with and live well. I rather have it in a best as possible state than rushed into service

Some people like a VR pilot, some don't.  What is important to remember, is that this is still an early access release.  I'm not sure why some people still struggle with this concept.  If you want to wait until the module is feature complete, then feel free to do so.  If you want to accept that the trade-off for getting the module now, rather than at some point in the future, is the lack of certain features or abilities, then EA is ideal.  If it was already a complete module, then it wouldn't be early access, it would just be a general release (like the OH-58).

I enjoy leg movement matching my real legs visually so much. Its one thing I hate about msfs helicopters, no pilot or copilot. I enjoy the kiowas model as the cyclic moves, the pilots knees move as my real knees do. I'm sure the chinooks model will be highly detailed and excited to see it polished. I know the Blackhawk is just a mod, but I wish they'd port over gazell or kiowa pilots to the mod, most lacking models in my opinion.

Although I get what you're saying (I'm also a VR pilot body fanboy 😉), the lack of a pilot body at EA release is not holding me back from pre-purchase. It might take a little while, but eventually ED will add it.

What is holding me back though, is the complete lack of information on ED's logistics plans. I know a lot can be done by scripting already, but I don't have those skills and I personally think much more is needed in DCS core in terms of actually making cargo/troop/vehicle transportation more useful. I was really hoping to see some info about that before EA release. The day the Chinook was announced I thought "yes! day one purchase!". I've pre-purchased lots of modules (so yes, I know what EA means) and never regretted it, but this time is really different in terms of how little is shared/previewed.

But I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here 😅

I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun flying this beast! And I can't wait to hear/see any of your verdicts/reviews

Yeah the lack of info/promos/hype is concerning and unusual.

It's funny, but I don´t have any problems what so ever me "not having a body" while flying in VR. At best I have no use for a pilot body, and at worst, it only gets in the way. But funnily enough, I find that when I am flying with another crew member in the Kiowa, I want to activate the pilots, because it feels strange flying with an invisible crewmate! But when flying solo, I have no problem with the empty seat beside me.

Not a fan of pilot body unless you can make the arms translucent as they tend to cover many of the control panels, at least on the left side. The L-39 is a prime example, most of the left and right consoles are obscured by the pilots arms.
