Dear all,

the moment has finally come. We thank you all for your incredibly kind patience, for sticking with us. Not much remains to say, other than we really hope you enjoy it. As usual, we ask you for your kind feedback, for the Phantom, for the very first time. šŸ™‚

I struggle with fps during ground operations at Nellis, but I understand my computer is very outdated.
Once in the air, all looking good.
Pitch trim feels a bit weird. I have to double check the pitch axis is not double binded, but I donĀ“t think it is.
Details, texture, 3D interior and exterior are top stuff.
Taxiing with open canopy and playing with the throttles sounds and feels amazing.
Waiting forĀ  SimShaker for Aviators support, itĀ“s hard to fly without that.
Steam installation was flawless, much appreciated your discount.

So far so good. Have just tried starting it from cold and dark and doing a simple flight and landing. Jester said the landing was so smooth that he almost fell asleep, so I'll take that as a win. No obvious bugs or issues yet, but I've just started after all. first impression is certainly good!

Very happy so far!

Just did a small trip around Israel and some training missions.

Only thing so far: The Jester wheel feels a bit "laggy" and not as smooth as in the Tomcat. For example when I open the wheel it takes a second or two until I'm able to select something.

But overall I'm very happy!

Before you call everything a "bug": RTFM & try again! Thank you. :music_whistling:

One quick question about the key bindings. I like using two way switches on the Warthog throttle for Gear and Hook.Ā
These switches only generate a button press in the up position.

In the Tomcat this worked well, because thereā€™s a key binding ā€žGear up - else downā€œ. So if the 2 way switch is up, the gear is up; if the switch is down the gear is down.Ā
The F-4 doesnā€™t seem to have this key binding (Gear up - else down) option unfortunately. I did see and try a different Two way gear binding in the F-4 settings, but then the switch had the opposite effect. When the switch was down, the gear went up and vice versa. Quite counter-intuitive.Ā

Maybe I just didnā€™t see the obvious. I didnā€™t have a lot of time to test the F-4 today.
But if any of you guys know what Iā€™m talking about and know how to make it work in the F-4, Iā€™d be thankful if you could point me in the right direction.Ā

Are you on the ground? The trim doesnā€™t move the stab on the ground in the F4, go fly, if mapped correctly, trim will work.Ā

I've tested it on the ground and in the sky. All failed.
But I was sitting in the back seat of a friend's F-4E and could control the trim using the trim buttons.
I fly an airplane and I can't trim it in the front seat.

Did you set the trim up in the control settings for your controls? I had to map it to my hardware.

I just flew it for an hour and it's an absolute masterpiece!

One question I have is if some things will be backported to the F-14? For instance, 3D models of the ground power and air hose connecting to the aircraft itself?

I'm getting a constant nose pitch up attitude despite have trim fully nose down. I can see my trim is nose down because of the gauge in the left side of the cockpit. I have checked to see if I have any controls conflicts, cant see any, could it be any of the settings in the Special tag? could anyone advise?Ā Ā

Only got about 45 minutes of flying over lunch, after mapping everything, but I've got to say, I love it so far. The new and improved Jester is really nice, and it was still a blast to fly around even having no idea what I was supposed to actually be doing with most anything. Ran off the side of the runway on the first attempt, got airborne and shot down by a MiG-21 I had flying around the 2nd time, and then spent the 3rd time just flying around the airfield with a mostly empty jet and trying to just land without knowing airspeeds or anything else, and it was still a blast.

Looking forward to learning this thing properly so I can run off the runway slightly less. Great work, Heatblur, and the skinners who worked on this thing. They all look great, and the cockpit is incredible.

Did you try to bind the "off" position of your switch to the gear down function? Thats the way i did it. If you assign the key for the gear down function, first press the switch to on, then select the "off" position of this button to the gear down function. Works for me. I believe the "else off" functions are obsolete since DCS introduced the "off" button position.Ā
