Lee Dove Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 DCS wallpaper. The F4 does not seem to appear on the main page list were you can set wallpapers. Am I missing something?

RTFK Spectre Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 First, thanks to HB for this wonderful module ! Then, i have some questions about the using of the pave spike pod and Jester. Did somebody know How to use it ? Because i didn’t see any tutorial or any information in the manual. I tried to use the context button but Jester didn’t lock any vehicles and didn’t use the laser designator. There are no options like the F-14 to tell to Jester to look in a precise direction and found a target ?

Mad Dog 762 Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 I only have a few hours in the Phantom so far, and I am really loving it. But, I am having a lot of trouble with Jester. He seems to have a lot of difficulty finding and locking targets on radar, and often does not do what he is told when it comes to resuming his basic scan etc. System: Intel Core i9-9900KF @ 5 Ghz, Z-390 Gaming X, 64Gb DDR4-3200, EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3, Dedicated SSD, Varjo Aero, Winwing Orion & F-16EX DCS Modules: A-10C II, A/V-8B NA, Bf-109 K4, P-51D, P-47D, F/A-18C, F-14 A/B, F-16 CM, F-86F, JF-17, KA-50 Black Shark 3, UH-1H, Mosquito, AH-64D Longbow, F-4E Terrains & Tech: Afghanistan, Caucasus, Persian Gulf, Normandy, Syria, Nevada, The Channel, Combined Arms, WWII Assets, Supercarrier

markturner1960 Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Starting to get to grips with this work of art and it really is amazing. Artwork and flight model set a new bar, great to see FFB effects so well implemented, the manual in cockpit is awesome, love the grease pencil feature (shame it is not visible from the outside, but I can see how complicated that would be). Here is my list of things I think could be improved: Better readability of cockpit instruments - it’s very gloomy in there when shadowed or low light conditions Tweaks to refueling - having to open and close door when you lose the boom seems wrong, some running total call outs as in the F14 would be nice Performance in VR seems to vary hugely, for example, free flight in Caucasus is literally unplayable for me - 15 fps and textures will not load, yet other missions no problem. Some optimisation required somewhere I feel. The F14 seems to get twice as good frame rates…… Jester wheel responsiveness to head movements is not great, being able to use the mouse is great Thank you all at Heatblur for this superb module, worth the wait and it truly sets a new bar. 4 System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.

This is correct to the real jet, check out this excellent video by Diesel Thunder, he’s working on a team getting a Phantom back in the air so he knows his stuff. 2. If you go into special options and turn off mouse interaction it’s more responsive, I think the delay has something to do with having to wait for the mouse to time out. 1

hermes7226 Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Thanks HB, the module is really great and I'm very happy with the purchase, it's my favorite so far. But what upsets me is that the pedals are too harsh. The fact is that I do not have pedals, and I am forced to control using the standard Z and X keys, and they are very sharp, it is impossible to adequately control the rudder during takeoff; when I press the keys, the pedals on the plane instantly go to their extreme positions. Could you set up the keyboard pedals like the other modules in the DCS, where things are much smoother. I would be happy.
Ravenus Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Incredible simulation and release. (I can´t recall a better release feature wise in DCS history). However I do think more optimization is needed. Heavy missions are unplayable for me. I am on the lower en regarding CPU, but I don´t have issue with other jets in DCS. THe performance drop is significantly lower compared with other jets. Tried special tab simulation reduction and messing with the affinity cores. Affinity helps a tad bad but not much. I hope this is improved.

As a workaround assuming you have a stick, could you not add a modifier and use it to swap the roll and rudder axis whilst pressed, so you can use a rudder axis during take off prior to needing roll? gulredrel Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 What a phantastic aircraft. Did my first longer flights this weekend. After having too hard touchdowns and Jester thought we would need to request a new landing gear, the third landing was smooth and Jester praised me Did some AIM-7 and AIM-9 shooting against some IL-76s. Radar screen is looking awesome. Bad against the ground clutter but really nice when looking up.

saunder Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Amazing aircraft probably one of the most immersive simulated aircraft I have had and I have been into flight simulation for about 35yrs. A few issues not sure if it should but, antiskid does not activate in auto startup and if you don't notice it, its a nightmare and the wheel chocks sometimes don't remove when using auto start.
