When trying to replay a multiplayer mission, I had the message "mission load fail". Then nothing happens. The game stays still until I manually killed it.
Not digging into "why" the mission load fails, my report is more about what should happen next. If mission load fails, I'd expect to be sent back to menu to keep using DCS, instead of being stuck nowhere..

Hello,

My point is not there. My point is, if there's a mission load fail, I should be sent back to the main menu, and not left there standed on a failed mission load.

I understand, and will ask the team about this.

thank you

Yea, having the same issue. Mission Load Fail, then stuck and can't go anywhere...

Manually killing the process and restarting DCS is somewhat time-consuming.

Would be nice if there's a way or work around to replay those MP missions, maybe caching external inputs in the track file...? It is common these days for MP servers to use some form of external database or scripting. Would be a shame if we have to choose one over the other. Might discuss this in a separate post though to keep this post focused.

Why sometime the same mission replay works and sometimes fail if it’s due to a script? I have the same problem even with no script at all. As script we can include also the condition from ME?

Posted

I encounter this problem a lot.  Particularly with the TTI and 4YA servers.  And yet, I know other users who can replay from those servers just fine (or at least, most of the time).  Is this a network timing problem?

I am running into this as well. It is happening on servers where I never had this issue before. It started with the patch which introduced the dynamic slots. Since then, I get the mission load fail every time I try to replay the multiplayer mission. Something broke this ability. As others have stated, when this happens, DCS is stuck and I cant' do anything. It's not crashed or non-responsive from a Windows perspective. It just is stuck and requires killing the process to get past it.

As for 4YA playback, my understanding in speaking with their server admin is that they have added something to the mission which prevents people from replaying it so I doubt anyone has actually been able to replay their missions from those servers.

I get it from my own dedicated server track. No fancy stuff or mods in use. Ran the mission twice and both times i get mission load fail. Never had that before

Now I got it on a multiplayer track in my regular DCS track folder, but the dedicated server track works..

I don't know if it is coincidence, but removing the F35 mod has enabled me to watch track files on a particular server.

Forgive me, but is this rule 1 o 1 for watching track files? Having no mods I mean?

Otherwise, it does seem to be random. And yes, agree with original post -an ability to click on "return to main menu" would help when you get a "mission load fail".

My personal observation is, that MP replays work for me if I leave a multiplayer session directly via „Quit to desktop“ as opposed to „softer“ methods like „Quit“ or „Leave server“. Sounds counterintuitive but works for me.

Note: I do use some mods, but no actual module mods.

I'm getting this a LOT lately for some reason.  Never seen it in my some 6 years with DCS from an unedited .trk until this past week or two.  Now most missions online, I can't go through the replay for them.  Here's two that give me a Mission Load Fail for some reason

Hardware: T-50 Mongoose, VKB STECS, Saitek 3 Throttle Quadrant, Homemade 32-function Leo Bodnar Button Box, MFG Crosswind Pedals Oculus Rift S

Oddly the "quit to desktop" method doesn't work for the F-15E. Strange that all other modules tend to work with that workaround. The track data itself is somehow corrupted, as the log always points to: Unexpected end of track fiber track/action. "Track" being the folder inside the .trk file, and "action" being the file within that folder that has all the recorded (and encrypted) data.
