Evilducky Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 That's a good pic there Mustang. I really like that one. :)
Python Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 That's a great shot of the F-15c!! It would be nice to see more natural looking afterburners at some point, otherwise you have to look twice to see if it is real or not.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 It's an absolute blast to fly.. high in the mountins first landing... not bad, all in one piece and nothing broken... 1st landing as in.. 1- too high 2- too high 3- too fast 4- touch and go 5- landed... ^^ The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. upupandaway Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 You have claims to quality of the skin (I don't quite understand your question)? Nonono! Not at all - I love the skin. The bort number is 01 on the photos I have of the "Cobra" Su-27. Yours had 80 on the screenshot. :) That may of course have changed during the years, as my images show the "Cobra" 01 from 2002. uboats Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Really nice edits! Can I know how u captured those screenshots? They are very sharp and clear However, I used printscreen to get mine but in windows photo viewer, what I can see is obvious pixels. LegoHeli Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) Can I know how u captured those screenshots? They are very sharp and clear However, I used printscreen to get mine but in windows photo viewer, what I can see is obvious pixels. While I did not take the screenshots you are referring to, I can explain to you what is wrong. When you take a screenshot with Windows, by default it captures a .jpg image. JPG images are low quality by default, that's why their filesize is very low. That creates small artifacts around edges of objects and unclearly defined details. For high quality screenshots, I recommend you use something like FRAPS set to capture png images. Notice the difference here (though the difference is less than a real case since the JPG is simply a converted PNG): PNG (via FRAPS) JPG (via the screenshot function in DCS) Edited April 10, 2014 by LegoHeli
Maximus_Lazarus Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 The game does look pretty good even while it's DX9 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

They are very sharp and clear However, I used printscreen to get mine but in windows photo viewer, what I can see is obvious pixels. Are you referring to the screenshots I posted? The above advice about using FRAPS is good, but my screenshots actually were taken with the in-game printscreen functionality. I don't know if this makes a difference anymore, but you can go into your :\EagleDynamics\DCS World\config\graphics.lua and change line 186 to 100. Also, I take them in replay mode. That way I can max out the graphics settings, and then pause the replay at the point I want to take the shot, line it up perfect, and then printscreen. And finally, you can edit those shots in a 3rd party picture editing program. I recommend not going overboard on the editing though because you'll lose the "feel" of the original.

Plagi_Arism Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 There is a line ScreenshotQuality = 90; (makes smaller file size) In DCSW/Config/graphics.lua Change it to ScreenshotQuality = 100; (makes sharper and detailed screenshot) May the THRUST be with you
GeorgeLKMT Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 And for even more quality, you can change jpg to bmp or png if you wish. ;) ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
Plagi_Arism Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Yes, but disadvantage of that extension will result in huge file sizes, which the uploading, and downloading will takes up too much time and more spaces on HDDs, SSDs, and on forum or image storage servers. May the THRUST be with you
