Huckle Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I'm excited for Edge/Nevada, but I am concerned about how they will affect performance. I run DCS on my laptop and it runs well right now but I don't know how much more she can take. Would be a shame to lose a smooth-running DCS for an overhaul upgrade. I was under the impression that Edge will run faster, taking full advantage of all cores in a CPU. If it runs even slower than 1.26, I will officially be giving up on DCS World.

If it runs even slower than 1.26, I will officially be giving up on DCS World. I hope it will run slower. I got so much reserve in FPS, so there's enough space for brighter graphics and more effects. I hope this desolate, gray and dead scenery like in the actual engine will be gone with EDGE! Nevertheless there should be scalable graphic options for low-end-systems, but I think even with minimum details it will look better than now...couldn't be much more worse
TZeer Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Come to think of something. Since this is a new engine , will the image from our TGP look different?
Irregular programming Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) I was under the impression that Edge will run faster, taking full advantage of all cores in a CPU. If it runs even slower than 1.26, I will officially be giving up on DCS World. It will be more efficient and will also require a relatively modern computer. How demanding the game ends up depends entirely on how much detail is in the new maps. Edited November 3, 2013 by Irregular programming
Pepec9124 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 It should run faster as current rendering engine is causing bottlenecks when many objects are being rendered simultaneously. My question is, will be able to use pre DX11 GPUs ?
joey45 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 My question is, will be able to use pre DX11 GPUs ? Should do, just not be able to use DX11 features. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Huckle Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 So more efficient, and detail should be scalable still - good, I need my 60 fps.
howie87 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 This is all speculative of course. The truth is that we just don't know until we get our hands on it.

NRG-Vampire Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 not a scoff but is that the only one "welcome to fabulous las vegas nevada" sign in the city ? i really dont know :dunno:
Merlin-27 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 The strip is missing some important stuff details to really sell it... Civilian traffic was not drag racing light to light Civilian traffic was not drunkenly swerving around There were no stretch limos with drunk people flailing out the windows/sunroof And most egregious was the utter lack of call-girl adverts littering the streets. :D And we thought tracking every .50 casing was a taxing job on the CPU! The real question: Is Ed going to add a C-123 so we can crash land on the strip a la "Con Air"? Yes, it is the only sign with that wording in Las Vegas. There is a similar one in Downtown that says Welcome to Downtown Las Vegas.
