oops, yeah, sorry guys, read the press-release too fast,

 

Hormuz will be the first Combat Theatre (NTTR is a Training Map)

Pfff ... I WILL TRAIN OVER SOH AND GO TO WAR IN VEGAS! So, there is that. :o)

Waiting for the assumptions that F-18 is coming with Hormuz this winter to start coming in... :music_whistling:

Well, technically, the Sept Newsletter reads as if they are getting released together or really close together. Barring any show-stopping bugs - why not?

Any assumptions about the release date of the F/A-18C are just assumptions right now... but hints like those in the newsletter make the mind race dont they :)

Straight of Hormuz has a curved map? proyected on a spherical world?

Map is tiny but great for strikers, Frogfoots, Kamovs.

Best for A-10C which must use calendar instead of speedometer, so Hog pilots take days to reach end of map :D

 

It is good maps can be merged. Now it is 400 km, later ED can release enlarged area only and merge it. During bigger area making, we can play smaller one and be happy.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

The guessed right when they create Crimea map that some kind of conflict was plausible. What if they are right about this one in the future ? :/

These screenshots are not in the game engine yet, they are in the viewer for the builder.

what are specifics about improved performance?

 

Here are some issues that popped up in the past:

-microstuttering on quad cores

-explosions causing slow downs

-object level of detail unoptimized

-heavy slow downs during battles(usually when there are over two dozen ai vehicles in close proximity). i am not sure if this is due to ai and ballistics calculation or due to the lods being twoo high poly.
