GeorgeLKMT Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Here are several new videos showing an older version of EDGE. Thanks! By the way, during the WWII kickstarter, some images from Corsica were shown and you referred to them as "unannounced map that is in development". Does that mean it'll appear in DCS one day, or stay as commercial product only? And is that an Mi-17 in the vid? In these videos, and in the actual DCS World, the sea is always calm. Will with EDGE possible to simulate rough sea?
VanjaB Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I doubt that Nevada sees a lot of rough seas...;)

zaelu Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) nice videos. now the wait.... :) PS The movies with Baku looks very great.... is that city recreated "artistically" or as it is in reality? Edited November 12, 2013 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Flagrum Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 PS The movies with Baku looks very great.... is that city recreated "artistically" or as it is in reality? I'd think, it comes pretty close. Perhaps not up to every house, but - similar to Vegas: detailed enough for a "representational level" (as Wags said).
Phantom88 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 OOOoooo,I can watch these ALL DAY!!! Thx Wags Patrick
NRG-Vampire Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 yeah, dcsw needs that kiev carrier too and some yak-38 instead of harrier on that flight deck :)

Nice, I'll be sure to stop by AVIA's booth at I/ITSEC in a few weeks. :) EDIT: Some things I noticed in those videos is the new lens flare, and some of the really shiny buildings in the terrain looked like they were actually reflecting what was around them, not an env map like we have now. ED Team NineLine Posted November 13, 2013 ED Team Posted November 13, 2013 Is it for DCS? No this is an early version of EDGE for commercial applications, but Wags shared it, so its safe to assume that we will be seeing something similar if not improved for DCS. But then you know what they say about assuming :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
aaron886 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 To me that shows that it is in an integration/clean-up kind of phase. Good news, IMO!
Mainstay Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Thank you for the videos. A couple of questions that are keeping me busy : 1 : Will we see the oilrig in DCS? 2 : Can we expect the map integrated into DCS? 3 : The carrier in one of the videos is it a new one? Thank you in advance

Ooooooooh. :) all the videos what Matt linked to forum are only a few day old, so i guess Matt asked to AVIA to upload some eyecandies for us :) maybe those videos were his birthday gifts to us  about that mirroring effect on the frontage of building, i think that was a pre-positioned texture on the materials of that building - mirror or specular materials a real calculation of that mirroring/reflecting needs huge resources and can cause FPS drops imho so i guess that was the same/similar effect what we can see reflections currently in dcsw on glass of canopies of aircrafts - we can see the pre-positioned (not real) cloud texture only in the reflection, and we can see those texture even if there are no clouds in the sky Edited November 13, 2013 by NRG-Vampire
