Haha! :P

 

Anyways, reason why i'm asking for a clean deck is because i've been having some time in FC2 VNAO with my 104th buddies and the carrier features alot when you're piloting an F-14 or 18, would be great if we could have a nice model minus all the deck clutter :)

 

edit: almost forgot - i've been informed that the carrier model has a minor problem with the collision mesh in FC2, can this be verified?

The model give the propellers, rudders and others sea effects?

Quick question: Which arguments are used for the meatball in your model?

 

I noticed in these screenshots that your meatball was green.

The "ball" itself should be orange, and the horizontal "datum" lights should be green.

 

Also, noticed that there was a "red meatball" at the top of the center column here:

The red ball only appears at the bottom of the column when you are too low.

(not to steal anyone's thunder and stuff),

 

I was actually looking to bring my re-done Carrier model that I'm working on to DCS at one point.

 

Work on the new 3d shape was put on hold when I started building my new systems, and again when I had to spend more time on other contracts.

I may be able to start working on it again, but to start from scratch again would take a while before its ready,

 

TBH the only part of the old model im not happy with is the HULL Shape, Level of Detail on most parts, Accuracy of Shape and the Texture Mapping,

Most of the shape was quickly done and kept at an extremely low poly count because of aforementioned limitations in Thirdwire's GEN1 engine.

Textures need specular and bump maps, but the textures should really be re-done, as there are so many small BMPs and TGAs that can be condensed or removed, as they were used as work arounds for Missing features from thirdwire’s engine.

 

This is the old one I built for Strike Fighters w/ updated textures for StrikeFighters2, However Thirdwire’s engine has limitations that DCS World doesn’t have.

(The SuperHornet Model used is the same one that is being used by Coretex, purchased and Downsampled from TurboSquid by another Thirdwire community member and used with his permission, 3d Crew models as well.) As you can see most of the detail was put into the operations deck, and barely any below that, and some onto the tower area.

(edit: these screens are older, the released mod for StrikeFighters has improvements no shown in these images.)

Could someone reupload links with carrer for LOFC2 ?

 

This is for FC2, my last update was 1.2.1 . This works for me.

Make a copy of your virgin FC2. Make a separate directory for your modded copy. Mod the copy.

 

There may be a guy on once in awhile in FC2 Multiplayer with his modded server. Usually look for VNAO in the server description.
