Yes but when on sale. IMO the $40 price tag is too steep for a new F-15 3D model, cockpit, and some other small changes. Had all the other aircraft been given the same treatment the F-15 has gotten then I would buy it on day one. I am also annoyed that I have to upgrade Black Shark as from my understanding there where no changes from BS1 to BS2 for the actual aircraft.

 

Think of it as investing into the future. One day we will all be on a 300+ player server battling it out in an online battle simulator with Occulus Rift headsets and DX11 graphics.

No. I've paid for BS three times now and still see many of the same little items that need fixing (clearly will never be fixed now). Do I even get the Crimea in DCSW from FC3? No. P-51? pfffft.

 

I support ED (have three different copies of BS), but no more pipe dreams for me. 300 players? Let's start with a stable server that can handle 3 or 4.

I still think the price is a bit steep. $20 and I'll probably get FC3. $40 if all the aircraft had updated cockpits and damage models.

Based on my past experience in buying ED products, I have concluded that it is better to wait price drop, and not buy right away. For example, I regret that I immediately bought the DCS K-50 Black Shark and then just upgrade for BS2. Although have given more money (50 $ + 20 $) and some bought BS2 for just $ 6 now I still have more work to install - I need to install BS1 and BS2 to upgrade, with each patch and lose more space on HDD. The first buyers are in an unequal position, compared to the customers who were later bought BS2.

 

In addition, simulation is not optimized, and the hardware demanding, uses only 2 cores of present modern CPUs. When there are multiple units, objects, explosion or triggers, there is a decrease FPS, chopping, delays and stuttering.

 

Simulation (FC2 indeed, and we'll see how we go with FC3) is still vulnerable to attacks, and developers from the ED are slow to react, so we ourselves have to fight against the attackers. It seems that we are important to you only when we buy. About a one dedicated server can not even think.

 

The relationship with the customer is not right, the information is very rarely go or hide. I do not know why it is so secret which will be the next DCS fighter? You need to know that we appreciate our money far more then you. The specified improvements are good, but they are more related to the DCS. I expected that you will devote more attention to Russian fighters.

 

The only good thing I can see that it's - FC3 will come back again all players in MP.

I will buy it. The great looking F-15 cockpit is worth the price tag alone.

Not to mention all the resource management, being able to fly CAS for A-10C ect. ect.

Simple, ED should upgrade BS2 upgrade copies to BS2 full licenses if a BS1 purchase is detected. It would solve a ton on issues.

ED can do that. If someone purchase FC3 for $40 and owns FC2 then they get license keys that won't require FC2. They will, however, still require LockOn to be installed. :P

LOL, sorry if you got that impression, but I didn't ask for a free serial. The context was BS1 -> BS2 upgrade, so I was pointing at the lack of such upgrade in the FC3 announcement.

 

I mentioned it a few times, but have seen no comments of any kind as to why such an upgrade option is not provided for FC2 owners. This is the only beef I have with the FC3 as I feel that FC + FC2 owners ought to get some discount since they are now asked to pay the same as the people who didn't put a dime for these planes previously.

 

Rant: From my limited customer perspective, to put it roughly, FC2 was already a payment for bringing the Lock On planes to the "common" DCS standard. And now it's bringing the same planes to somewhat newer DCS World standard, which obviously ought to be much less work than LockOn -> FC2 (otherwise what did we pay for in FC2?). And when I remember the whole BS2 upgrade "features" and the price asked for that.. All that considered, I really feel it would be fair to have an upgrade option. It feels like there is a 6-month cycle where you need to pay for something (kinda like a subscription model), but the problem is that the cycle for new platforms is too large so you end up feeling you're paying for the same thing over and over packaged with some new features to try to justify the price.

If ED have worked 2 years on some new "oil" I sure would do an oil shift. Should that be free of charge? Com on, you can't meen this.

And on top of that I get DCS World map and mission editor with DCS World online and a more unified player base with a wider variety of aircraft than FC2 offers. And FC3 is still below the average price of a video game.

Apart from the actual context here, DCS could in fact use some update in terms of its graphical kaboomery. Just my 5 cents... Not that it´s the most important thing in this environment, but still.
