Nate--IRL-- Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I get the impression that FC3 makes some improvements to the DCS World like improvements in the areas of the mission editor, special effects, new models, improved terrain detail, expanded theatre of operations map into eastern Georgia, and added logistics control to missions. I do not own FC1 or FC2 and I would prefer not to have to install some legacy software on my computer to be able to take advantage of what sounds more like advances that should be contained in DCS World. Its not that I am apposed to buying FC3 it's just that many years of trying to install legacy software has shown me that it can cause software installation problems, lockups and problems in the registry, which no matter how you slice it, always leads to eventually having to spend two days reinstalling all my soaftware and the OS from scratch. Maybe ED can provide some of these updates another way through the purchase of an update module for those of us who are not planning on buying FC3. Luckily for you the improvements required for FC3 have to be integrated into DCS World for compatibility reasons. If you don't want to fly the aircraft, you are still getting the bulk of work done for FC3, for free. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

Milene Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Im sure it will be possible to give them 6dof when they arrive with a mod, I am using 6dof with the su-25t at the moment, and yes there is some clipping in the pit but being able to have a good look around is more important for me :) hear hear Flanker, Flanker 2.0, Flanker 2.5, Lockon, FC1, FC2,FC3, BS1, BS2, A10C, CA and World [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

92nd-MajorBug Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 You're a nice dude so I'll assume that you are not trolling me :) You can already see along this thread that a lot of people are confused, understanding that the expanded theater, additionnal 3d models, effects, AI or whatever will be actually different from what they can get for free by just downloading DCS World I get the impression that FC3 makes some improvements to the DCS World like improvements in the areas of the mission editor, special effects, new models, improved terrain detail, expanded theatre of operations map into eastern Georgia, and added logistics control to missions 92nd Kodiak Air Force - May the Greuh be with you
Nate--IRL-- Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 You're a nice dude so I'll assume that you are not trolling me :) Apologies - yes, I see what you are getting at now. Most of this has yet to be introduced into DCS world. The improvements will arrive with FC3, but not exclusively so in order to maintain compatibility. (and the 6dof is a trick, it's not an official feature for the old aircrafts) As soon as we still can edit the lua and easily re-activate the 6dof (even with clipping) I'm ok  L'important n'est pas de tuer, mais de survivre. When FC3 comes out, we will have the map from: - DCS:World (as of today) or - DCS:Word (as of today) + again extented (bigger theatre area) ? So DCS:World will also get new features when FC3 comes out (even if we don't buy FC3 ?) ? L'important n'est pas de tuer, mais de survivre. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] if you read this you are too curious

104th_Cobra Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) Even if we will not see MiG-29 launching two R-77 while on TWS or having TTA/TTI on Russian birds, the introduction of AFM on the missiles will bring more realistic weapons envelope employing. Only this pays half the price of FC3 :) Bringing the fast movers to DCSW will pay almost the other half. I'm hoping that after reviewing the SFM airplanes they will feel more relaxed and less scripted. It's a shame that only the F-15C has the improved cockpit but it is well understood that the amount of work to improve all the other cockpits is well over the man-hour work available. Bring it. xjiks Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Thanks Nate & Viper for clarifying that point. Maraudeur Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Ok for the "new" AFM of the missiles (and rockets?), but will the fu****g bug of the SPO be fixed enough? I mean no launch warning with many aircrafts (I think in particular of the F-4. It's nice to have better missiles if we also have a correct SPO... yoyo_the_reaper Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) hi all, question about FC3 , IIRC this product includes the A-10A , which can fire Maverick D or K weapon. This weapon is available on A-10C (complex avionics) and need a small procedure to be done before a fire in DCS:A10C (cooling then ground stabilize) so how the MAv will works on A10A (same as for A10C) ?? xilol Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Hi, After reading all of these posts, I am still eager to get into the FC3 wagon regardless of the price and of the announced features. Still two questions if anyone can answer me at this point: 1- There was a list made of known bugs for correction of FC2, do you know if any, some (which) or most of them are resolved? 2- Do you know if you'll get the R77 on Russian su-27 and su-33? Thanks, and looking forward to the release. "IN ALTIS VIS ET VIRTUS" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pilotasso Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 The answer about R-77 or Mig-29 multi engagement capability has been debated to death in previous years and expansions for realism purposes. There was no change back then and is not expected to happen now, nor it was annouced in the first post. .

winz Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I'm lazy, I admit it, I haven't read all the 46 pages. So my questions are 1)What kind of campaign is the new F-15 campaign? Is it more like BS - Deployment, or FC2 Revanche? With custom voice-over, background story and good mission variety? Or is it more like the A-10C Georgian Hammer campaign? With the same template used over and over again, with increased difficulty? 2)Were those old missions/campaign tested? I mean, realy tested, not just 'well, looks like this one works'. As whole campaings? So problems like : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=90824 shouldn occur and it shouldn't be the bugfest the A-10C campaigns/mission were? IMO...based on what I read...I think it will stay exactly the same as in FC2...ie., 7 for A2G mode, D to select mav.... tab to lock...alt+enter to fire. No warmup of seeker. With regards to A-10A...I actually wondered this before when I learnt using pac to fire the cannon precisely in DCS-A10C..... Does A-10A in LOMAC have PAC? IIRC....it didn't or...I might have completely overlooked it. I do remember I could change the rate of cannon fire...but I think that was changed in the C version to be a constant high rate of fire.
