I got this fantastic module few days ago at Steam sale and now I feel bad because the price was so low - almost like I stole it :( I can only say - thank you devs for making it, this iconic helo is one of my favs and it works so great in DCS! I really like the fact that you can operate as the door gunner. Great job.

..just check the Huey UN Campaign (if you managed to fly and land the Huey of course)..this is the best Campaign ever build in DCS :thumbup:

Just got it, been having fun learning how to fly it. One question though: How can you get door gunners without also having miniguns/rockets?

 

just load a single rocketlauncher, then jettison it. the gunners will remain, as will the ETC's.

I just got the Huey in the steam sale but am struggling to get the joystick to work properly. I can't configure the slider to be for the collective. I double click that one item and it does nothing. All other items it brings up a box so I can select a variable but not that one - strange.

I haven't looked since the intro of the Slick model to see the model name changes/additions, but I know I still fly existing missions with just the door gunners

Hmm....it seems for me that I get the "slick" version if I don't add rockets and/or miniguns. If I add weapons then I get the door gunners.

 

I also can't find a key command/joystick button to dispense flares.

You don't. At the moment you only have two options: armed and unarmed. Hopefully they will implement the option to arm the slick with door gunners at a later time.

I think I tried to do that with the minis but then lost everything when I deleted the minis. Will have to try that with rockets.

it will not work with the miniguns, as you cannot jettison them.

 

you have to use rockets for it.

 

jettison vs. clearing:

 

- you clear a weapon slot over the radio calling the groundcrew for rearming. that way will NOT help you there

 

- you jettison a weapon through a switch in the cockpit, that is right over the arm weapons switch, locked under a red cap.
