...things I have learned:

1. Press 'NO'

2. Make a complete backup* of your current DCS installation.

3. Than run the updater again

* Make a copy of your "DCS World" folder and rename it to "DCS World Before 1.2.4.14196.166" or similar.

It takes 43 seconds for me.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Mine is over 700 MB. It probably depends on the number of modules you have installed.

...and of your installed mods - disable big ones beforehand (e.g. Ricardos HD pits) - so you won't need to download the changed files .

It backs them up anyway.

Hmm, wanted to play with a buddy, we both updated, now I can´t find his server anymore, not in the list and when joining direct to the ip it says "Verbindung unterbrochen (Connection Interrupted)" a split second after "searching for server". It worked before, the only thing changed is the new update. Restarting, rebooting, done everything, no joy... :-(

I disable all mods before updating. Saves time and avoids uncertainty. :)

...and then let JSGME tell me what files were changed.

It's indeed a bit slower on startup. But nowhere near the 5 minutes I've seen people talking about.

Hope ED releases another update that adresses this issue...

Wags said no content changes... Then why are comms on the Russian side now in Russian with the same settings? And I'm not the only one who has experienced this. So please give us that changelog!

Took longer to get in the game. Once in, loading missions took less time. :)

Nice plane on that gun...

So we do not have the same problem:

time to start up screen : 8 seconds

loading time for a mission with only 2 planes : 4 minutes
