Which brings up the question, what happens if you install FC3 and the standalone A-10A?

EDIT: Because, unless I am mistaken, those $$ won't go away unless the product is installed not just owned.

From the Windows Start Menu, find the Eagles Dynamics/DCS folder and click on Update DCS.

What's the command line for the shortcut? For some reason, it's not in my start menu.

ED have already changed the DCS "desktop" icons so that if you have FC3 installed icons for A-10A and Su-25A are removed... so you no longer have this "issue" of $ signs bugging you :)

I bought A-10A and Su-25A module also even though I have FC3 already... I wish to continue to support ED and eventually would like to ditch FC3 because I would prefer not to have to install LOMAC first.

That's good, though I may get the modules also for the same reason.

After the hotfix I get this for fire and smoke. DCS has crashed a few times when I exit the single player mission - "DCS has stopped working".

Well, my saitek combat rudder toe brakes STILL don't work properly in DCS anyway...

They 'stick' in the on position, even though they're fine on every other game I've tried and in windows controller manager.

Tried all the fixes and reinstalled everything. Just had to use a 50% dead zone in the end.

:(

I had this with my Saitek Pedals, all I had to do is reverse the axis in-game options. It has to be done per applicable aircraft.

I don't think inverting the braking axes is what he's talking about. He's talking about axis input sometimes "sticking" when the toe brakes are released:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95841

I've resorted to using the keyboard wheel brake key ("W") while running up, because otherwise I run the very real risk of careening down the runway with one brake stuck at one-third, to the endless amusement of my multiplayer buddies.

Weirdly, following suggestions in this forum I was finally able to solve the problem. I went into window USB controller manager and deleted all the deadzones. Went back onto DCS and the toe brakes now work perfectly!

I tried everything else and gave up. This was the only fix that worked for me. Don't know why nobody mentioned it in the other forums...

1.25. Should I or shouldn't I?

I've been keeping an eye on the forum since the release of 1.25 and have deliberately held off updating until now. I was quite concerned about people experiencing problems with the Huey in particular, as that is my main vehicle. And I've noticed quite a few wishing to "roll back" to 1.24. What's the general consensus? Does the good outweigh the bad, or should I still hold fire whilst the bug-hunting continues? :noexpression:

I know there were issues with the Huey controls but I think they were addressed with the hot fix. I took a few flights in it yesterday and everything worked fine and there are some improvements like a new pilot side mounted site. And I think the mini-guns are more accurate as well. They seemed to be to me anyways. And the main rotor doesn't break off as easily.

I flew the Huey post-hotfix and had no issues. Also flew the Su-27 since and nothing wrong that I have seen. So far I'm not having any issues with DCS since they rolled out the fixes.

kontiuka: The Huey mini-guns seem more accurate to me as well.

No problem here too. You should...

But, in any case, you can zip your DCS World for backup. ;) Because it depends on your system I guess..

Let me rephrase his question a bit. So, since the mistake a couple of weeks back with the wrong update being pushed out, does that mean the correct update is now available and in the proper cue?

If I update now, I'll be downloading the correct update and not the wrong one with a hotfix or two?

Posted

Yes. If you use the autoupdate it will take you to the latest patch which is working fine with the huey and P-51 (and probably everything else, I haven't flown them recently.)

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

I had a bit of an issue with the initial update and ended up doing a full re-install. After that it's been working great.

Just remember to back up your files etc.

Well you can try and see. In case you're facing problems like I did, you can re-install the old update. How to do that? Go to my Thread page two:
