As a software developer I can tell you the probably most common reaction to seeing such bug reports are the following:

- "WTF??? We tested it and it worked! F********CK!!"

- "OH NOES MOAR BUGS!!!"

- "Let's fix the ones that most people have first. Oh, F*** that's all of them.... Ok, let's fix the easy ones first."

Often there are even new bugs in parts of the software you didn't even touch since the last patch.

Then hell breaks loose. Your boss appears and tells you to fix all of them bugs ASAP. You tell him that you can't fix them all now. Then he says "fix the ones with highest priority first", and you ask him which ones are highest priority, and then he says "all of them". And you ask for a deadline and he says "yesterday".

And some of those bugs were fixed several times already, and you have no clue what to do. So you do *something*. You get into a circle:

Shock, fear, rage, resignation, calming down, thinking, working, testing, happiness, release.... and then it starts again when the bug reports arrive.

(Ok, I am exaggerating. A bit. Maybe.) :D

I'm a software developer too and when I get a list of bugs from the last release I go through the grieving process, shock, denial, anger, acceptance.

Then I say I can't be bother to fix them right now and it's the testing teams fault for not checking it through properly.

"I'm going to bed now, but later on Thursday we plan to release a "hot fix" to 1.2.5 that will include the following:

WinXP is supported once again.

The A-10A Advanced Flight Model (AFM) is no longer AWOL.

The broken UH-1 input file has been repaired.

The crash resulting from the broken aircraft activation / deactivation triggers has been addressed.

Fixed the periodic green explosions.

There are other items that we have fixed internally (like chaff rejection), but they were not completed in time for this update. These and other items will be part of an update next week.

Matt"

Thank you sir! I really enjoyed this part.

"The A-10A Advanced Flight Model (AFM) is no longer AWOL." A new word for Gaming Code? lol

Shock, fear, rage, resignation, calming down...

Which is precisely why I quit my long-standing career in SW/IT a couple of years ago ;) 20+ years of either writing, designing or managing/administering complex systems was more than enough I'm telling ya...

Ok, Ok, getting my coat since this hardly pertains to the discussion at hand :music_whistling:
