To be frank. DCS F15 is a great idea AND welcome. But maybe is bringing an FC aircraft to the DCS table the su25A or T might be a better choice. Simply due to the fact nothing REALLY new has to be made. In the case of the A ........just clicking stuff really.

 

Or if time is REALLY an issue... a hybrid fc dcs F15. Move some stuff to clickable and others the same ole tired way. Modeling the radar and all the systems to DCS levels MIGHT be a BIG project all by itself. Assuming the info can get dug up.

Someone mentioned forever ago that F-15 pit already has the parts in place to make it clickable. With the AFM likely nearing completion, if they are even considering a DCS F-15C then its probable they managed to get the data they need for the systems. I wouldn't be surprised if the radar just needs little additional work, and IFF probably won't be modeled for the same reason it isn't in the A-10C.

All he was doing was mocking a forum member for believing BST is the studio working on EDGE, based on what he saw in a video.

I apologize if it seems I was acting un-moderatorly, to be honest if I deleted everything off topic in this thread I would delete half the thread, its a fine balance, if its a thread where people are going to try and watch for official updates it would get modded harder, in this case, it was mostly a chit chat/wish list poll (no offence to the OP) so I think the OT banter is some what more acceptable. Again, like I said, its a fine balance, and I am still trying to find the perfect balance.

 

As for my humour, well if I am not allowed to joke around, then what's the point of hanging out with you guys. Just because I am a moderator I cant have a little fun? I hope thats not what people really think because I love this community, and I want it to be a fun experience (even though there are times when its not on the moderator side). So when the mood strikes me, I will probably post something silly... if you knew me in the RL, you would know I am exactly the same way.

 

I'm not perfect, my wife can attest to that. SO I hoe you can cut me some slack. After all I am just one of you guys trying to enjoy this DCS World we live in...

 

Back on the topic... I so want a clickable cockpit and a 600 page manual to print... not just for the F-15, but the Su-27 as well. I cant even fathom how cool that would be. If I have to wait for the F/A-18 thats ok (one of my favorite planes anyways) but if they could dish it off to a third party to make it happen... how cool would that be... I know there are many factors to what they make and to what level. I hope they can make it happen with some of the FC3 planes, I mean least they are part way there.

I think the single most awesome thing to come from a DCS: F-15C module (assuming MSIP-II) will be the JTIDS/Link16 datalink. Code which would transfer into the F-18C. Logically all the back-end code basically already exists from what makes the A-10C (pilot-to-pilot)and Russian (awacs-pilot) datalinks work.

No avionic to code and only 3D-back-seat-cockpit will must achieve for ED.

 

I have made same consideration for Hornet side.

It should replace what we have now, so missions shouldnt care that its new and improved.

It'll be the same plane, it will just be updated to load the AFM Libraries when it loads the Module.

For the life of me, I cannot get past the tremendous visual distraction of the distorted cockpit frame. It's like looking through a metal tunnel.

That effect kills this module for me.
