I looked around but did not see anyone bring this up. Station 8 on the F-16 ( any block) can not carry any A2G munitions so I assume this is a typo that could lead to confusion. Station 1,2,8 and 9 can only carry A2A weapons, Block 15 can only carry AIM-9 ( unless modified, this would be depending on specific country) For AIM-7 carry, only station 3 and 7 Edited December 17, 2013 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Station 1,2,8 and 9 can only carry A2A weapons, Block 15 can only carry AIM-9 ( unless modified, this would be depending on specific country) For AIM-7 carry, only station 3 and 7 No typo, more of a quirk of the game, I think. The Lantirn, now Litening, are mounted on a pylon that gets inserted between station 4 and the centerline station. Instead of having 9 hardpoints the F-16s in DCS have 10, with the 5th pylon used for mounting targeting pods/sensors. I suppose a pylon should be inserted on both sides of the centerline pylon to mount the sensors, but as it is right now, the F-16 only has one sensor in the game. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Silver_Dragon Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 The Lantirn system was two pods, a AN/AAQ-13 targering pod and a AN/AAQ-14 Navigation pod. The AN/AAQ-14 provide night vision and terrain-following radar, a downgrade version with depleted terran-following ability call AN/AAQ-20 Pathfinder. That system only can use on F-15E,F-16A/B Block 20,F-16C/D, F-14A/B/D. The AN/AAQ-13 was remplaced by LITENING II / AN/AAQ-33 Sniper. The F/A-18C missing the AN/AAS-38 "Nitehawk" or more advanced AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR (Used by Marine Corps), in the opossite site of LITENING II For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF

statrekmike Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 This patch is really shaping up to be a great one for Huey/Mi-8 pilots, I am glad to see both those projects getting plenty of love this time around.
Mainstay Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I wonder if the fan will work in the mi8 with this patch ;) Lets go give me some beta action already

Dudester22 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 What's it mean by open beta patch when it's not even out?
falcon_120 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 What's it mean by open beta patch when it's not even out? Maybe if you just wait a bit longer...
Cibit Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Tingling after reading the Mi-8 update, freakin bombs away:thumbup: Implemented ESBR (electrical bomb release control panel) functionality with all associated weapon systems modeling Implemented airframe configuration panel in the Mi-8MTV2 Helicopter Group menu of the ME to control setting of engine IR suppression devices, weapon hardpoints, addon armor plates, and engine lifespan condition (WIP) Restored wheel brake volume level in the cockpit These are a few of my favourite things:music_whistling: i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
Dudester22 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Maybe if you just wait a bit longer... I might be wrong, but I thought an open beta meant that it is out and is been tested. A bit like a closed beta is closed to certain people.
Cibit Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 It will be open to all who choose to participate once it is released. I hope an announcement on release time will be made soon:) i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
theOden Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I might be wrong, but I thought an open beta meant that it is out and is been tested. A bit like a closed beta is closed to certain people. You read too much into the title. "DCS 1.2.7 Open Beta" is the product discussed and "Preliminary Changelog" indicates what is to be roughly expected when the beta patch goes live. Internet. The airframe configuration panels for both the Mi-8 and Huey sound exciting :). Can't wait to fly a clean Hip :).
Rotorhead Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Well yeah! Nice changelog for the choppers! Can't wait to see clean Hip too - finally some proper use for those civilian textures! Me like!
Scrim Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Don't really care if the Beta is closed or not; I'm ticked off about the "the next Huey update will be here in late November", turning into a preliminary changelog for a beta without an announcement date in early December. Weak man, weak.
BadK Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Better to take more time to release something and make sure it's doing what you want it to do, or else people complain about it. It's not a release, it's a beta. Yep and since we are flight simmers, we would still complain about it if it's not working right. ;) It's coming that's all that's important, providing we get it and it improves this already stunning sim, then I'll be happy. Scrim Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Better to take more time to release something and make sure it's doing what you want it to do, or else people complain about it. Agree. But I strongly suspect they didn't already know that when they came along and said there'd be a big new update of the Huey no later than the end of November. Taking their time to get it right is OK, being intentionally dishonest about release date, not OK. 1

xaoslaad Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 FWIW, What might cut down on 'complaints' is a public bug tracker. It would allow people to see what bugs are confirmed, needinfo, being worked on, etc. non-constructive complaining would turn into constructive bug reporting, log uploads, etc. At this point people can complain, and maybe a tester or someone at ed will ask for a track or log to look at the issue... Set up redmine or bugzilla. Considering you're moving to public betas it might be a great time to do so. Just a thought.
GGTharos Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 So, what will people do when their issue in a public bug tracker is not assigned/updated/whatevered? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
karambiatos Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 So, what will people do when their issue in a public bug tracker is not assigned/updated/whatevered? Is that a rhetorical question? ED Team NineLine Posted December 17, 2013 ED Team Posted December 17, 2013 Unless this changes between now and then all tracking will need to be done through the forums. Setting up something like bugzilla will just add another layer of work. Basically you will submit your bugs and a Tester or Dev will acknowledge and submit that bug. I would hope that we will take it a step further and acknowledge when a fix is coming, but I dont know how it will all work right now. At least that is how I understand it right now...
