And your point is?

Yeah, sorry, meant to quote your previous posting. And there my point is, it would be best to stay calm until the team had some space to breathe and to resolve their internal difficulties, and every second or third posting here reminds everyone to not let the speculations and rumors take over hand, then comes a posting like yours...

Fair enough ... but I don't see how much more damage could be done with civilized discussion about what could went wrong then what has already been done by original statement.

If the heart broken community is an issue and shutting us up would solve the problem, I'm all for it ...

Sit back, have a cup of tea and wait for the situation to unfold, either way, the worlds not going to end. Meanwhile the powers that be are working hard on a resolution.

i think the whole community kinda feels this as a big universe kick in the nads.. also quite dangerous as well, since the time to release modules or stuff is getting bigger and bigger, .. a cancellation of a module especially plane module that would be first (a new plane) in a long time would be bad..

i really do hope it gets through and not just through but still get released in march or lets say june.. but any longer than this and people might get fed up at standstill that has enveloped the pc war flight community..

If finances are a problem, I think that majority of us are willing to help again. I wouldn't mind paying $50 again for something that I love and being waiting for such a long time. Times are tough and there is no room for pride.

TEAM, if you need finantial help again, please let us know! Don't let it be the end of the road when you are so close to the finish!

Yeah, for some reason I don't think throwing money at them will solve the problem.

What's there to get worked up about?

That the MiG-21 may not be released? Yes, something to get worked up about.

What the team is doing to get past their issues? No, there is nothing for us to do there.

Neither of these things are worth getting worked up about, for the simple fact that public frustration will do nothing but amplify Studio Beczl's internal friction. If it doesn't release, backers will be refunded. And if they settle their differences, it will be released. Either way, the value of the product will be in the hands of supporters.

Would I like to purchase the MiG-21? Certainly. If I had the money down on the MiG-21 could I control or assist the situation by excited speculation? No. Thus, there's no point in worrying about it either way.

It's not exactly a hard concept to grasp, but it appears to be out of reach of many.

We are working on it everyone.

Please stay calm. There will be information coming soon.

I don't doubt that you are. Good luck and hope you guys can fix the issue(s).

Hopefully the group takes it as a sign of the interest and excitement that their product has generated. But yes, when dealing with an internal issue getting screamed at from outsiders doesn't help. I'm sure Beczl's Inbox is getting flooded (if he hasn't turned it off from PMs). The passion within the flight sim community can be both vice and virtue.

I think they did a post on their forum fairly recently saying that they hadn't abandoned DCS projects - they are focusing on their main money-makers (FSX and P3D) and one of their DCS people has taken leave for education. Granted talk is talk and we have no idea whether they will ever bring anything to the table eventually, but I don't think they have said they are quitting anything yet.

Its crucial to support DCS: MiG-21bis even if you hate the MiG-21.

Independant non-ED devs gains experience in DCSW making addons. These devs culd share experience amongst eachother, create new viable projects, which speeds up development and releases of new modules.

I agree that the MiG-21bis is very critical - or at least has become very critical - for the DCS community.

I, for one, am still planning on buying it, should I have the opportunity - and I think that's true of most of the people I fly with. If there was another way to support the project, I would.

But beyond that, I'm not sure what else we can do to support. The team is pretty quiet right now - quite understandably - and it is being "officially discouraged" by the moderators not to "speculate" in the forums.

Which means that the project is falling out of the public eye. Hell, look how much this thread has slowed.

The development team understood they had to keep interest and conversation current it's why they kept posting updates, images, and video - to keep the idea fresh and alive

How many weeks or months of silence will it take before the project is replaced as a "hot topic", and eventually becomes - like the yak-130 mentioned a half-dozen posts back - a half-remembered "was a wip a time ago".

That's inevitable if the worst-case scenario comes to being: Out of Sight, Out of Mind........Either way, I hope we find out soon enough - the suspense is killing me.

In any event, this matter has a silver lining in that it will serve as a jolly good wake-up-call for all the Dev teams out there at present in that they are to make pretty damned sure that the business-aspect is pretty well tied-up, ie contracts regarding employment/development et al are water-tight, relationships well-defined/contractually sound etc etc. That is the only way to ensure that any '...disagreements and financial issues......' as mentioned on Beczl's site have no chance of seriously derailing a project mere months from finalization.

It's a crying shame is what it is.

That's it. I don't have the slightest idea of what the hell could go so horribly wrong that it escalated in situation like that, but either way, it's very, very disturbing. We have one saying: "You don't eat you food as hot as when you cooked it", so I hope it will be the case. Cobra's latest statements indicate that maybe it won't really be that bad.

However, it's disturbing no less. One day, we knew that a great module is coming very soon, we even had a definite release date, and next day... BAM, we don't know if it's ever coming out. Talk about letdown.

There was already one project literally shot down by general lack of confidence from the community. And now, when there is a project that people really believe in at last, something like this happens. If they don't make it trough, I can hardly see this community to show same level of faith and enthusiasm for yet another third party project.

I don't care about my money, but MiG-21 must not fall. If it will, that day will be a sad day for us all.

Please, MiG-21, get well soon.

If we'd been restricted to newspapers and snail mail NONE of this would have happened. The problem would have occurred, and likely been resolved- and none of us would be any the wiser. Man, I miss those days.

But now the freedom of information available on the internet can be used as a negotiating tool- getting a bunch of people (like us) involved at a level where we can't POSSIBLY OBJECTIVELY contribute nor assess. It was unfair to us, it was unfair to the other members of the team. It happened under duress and we can all agree that people will be people and that each and every one of us would have reacted to similar circumstances (whatever they were) in a different way.

Equally unfair is that the folks without the emotional maturity to process the information that's available over the internet are often the ones who are the most bloodthirsty for the opportunity to put their tilt on it. It's "fun" for them to get an entire community of people riled up and like idiots we all jump on.

Anyway, this soap box isn't big enough for all of us... All the same I do hope "the boys" over there get their issues squared away and push forward.

"ENO"

Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret.
