Hello everyone, I've had my crosswinds for some time now and noticed a minor issue with them. Over long sessions of playing, the center drifts to the left little by little. Running the calibration fixes it for some time, but it happens again.

Tested around a bit, and it seems to start happening whenever I push the left pedal to max, the centering point does not stay at 50% but comes back to around 49.5% and the right side does not go to 100% after that. The more times I push the left to max, the more the centerpoint drifts away to the left. Recalibration solves that tho. Maybe a loose magnet or something?

What cam are you using? I found that with the default cam, cam 6, it would not quite center naturally to dead center, but was a distinct bias: 48/52. Cam 6 has a harder center detent than the other two (4 and 5), and, as I wanted a soft/no center detent anyway, I switched in cam 4. I was expecting less center stability due to the softer detent, but turns out I got more: much more neutral centering naturally.

Also be sure you have enough spring strength on, I recently adjusted mine after a year or so as the spring had relaxed a little.

Hey can you post picture of your wheel brakes for office chair? I need to make something similar

It's not complicated as I said. But here are the pics.

One thing I forgot, I have egrips (egrips.com) on everything I own :D Laptops, phones, Kindle etc. Can't live w/o them!

I had some left over, so I stuck it on the bottom of the flange. Not sure if it's doing anything, but in the interest of full disclosure!

And in action. Works like a charm for me.

The issue seems to be fixed now, dont really know how or why, but anyway.

I disassembled the pedals a bit, cleaned most surfaces just for why not(there wasnt much to clean), replaced the heatshrink tube on the magnet(again for no particular reason, "just in case") and took care to tighten the screws equally. Seems to work ok now. My best guess is a loose bolt/screw somewhere. My pedals are around 1 year old, and see a fair bit of use.

On another note, i could get the centerpoint to around 40% if i repeatedly pushed the pedals to left and let them go back center, it would add a tiny amount of off-center each time. Still the best purchase ive probably ever done when it comes to hobbies

I got mine on Wednesday, Shipping only took a week.

They are really nice, however I feel that they would be more comfortable for my feet if the pedals didn't have the holes cut in them.

Was that the choice - pedals or shoes?

Tape/glue these to them:

Done.

Alternatively, make these part of your standard "flying" kit, along with the flight cap, goggles, and jaunty scarf (you do have a jaunty scarf fro flying don't you?):

Just ordered a pair of these in graphite to replace my G25 racing pedals. I don't think I've seen a peripheral yet, with such an overwhelmingly positive reaction. Looking forward to bolting this into the sim pit!

Same here, have been enjoying these awesome pedals since last Dec, and I will certainly try out the combat plates whenever they do become available.

I am very excited and can not wait until mine arrive near the end of November.

When my Saitek pedals went out I bought the cheap thrustmaster pedals. They have been a nightmare. First week & 1/2 they were fine then started having stiction problems and after 4 weeks it was really bad (even with super lube). Now one side is either all or nothing.

I had to dig out my old old old Microsoft joystick that has a twist handle and use it just to taxi, thrustmaster pedals to brake, and warthog to fly....it is a handful landing. Lol

November is going to be like Xmas.

Fight to fly, fly to fight, fight to win.

After the left toe brake died on my Saiteks and I wasn´t able to find any obvious errors in the wiring etc. I orderd me a pair of MFGs in graphite black today.

I figured I'd check in after a year and give an update,I posted this last year around this time

Well for those of you who are wondering how the Crosswind pedals will last after repeated use, I pretty sure I can give you an answer.

I have had these pedals for 2 years now as of this Christmas.

SN / 067

I have all the flight sims ROF /IL2 /BOS /COD /MS FS and of coruse DCS, and there are very few evenings where I am not flying one or the other.

After 2 years of repeated use I have not had a single issue, they are working now, just like they did right out of the box!

Pivot points are still tight and acuracy is still like new.

They show no signs of wear other that needing a little dusting.

I wish I could say the same for my other hotas and pedals!

They are by far the best money I have ever spent for my system and are the best pedals I have ever owned.

The reason I can say that is because I have a closet full of pedal from other companys, along with all the other hotas systems ever made.

Precission is flawless even at 2 years old and the assembly is very robust.

I would not trade, sell them for any price.

You cant go wrong with the MFG Crosswind for the price you pay!

Best money I ever spent!thumbup.gif

:cry_2:and as you can see im crying now :cry_2:

I got a look at the new graphite colors and really like them !!!!:clap_2:

The problem I have is that my pedals are still working like they were when I first bought them.

Not a single issue in 3 years of heavy use

Pivot points are still tight and acuracy is still like new after 3 years:yes:

Precission is still flawless

My new years resolution will be to try and wear this set out and talk the wife into a new set, :joystick:

aHHH maybe next year or the year after at this rate
