MIG-29 confirmed release date September?
Dača replied to The Gryphon's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
That would be the best case scenario which I hope is true. -

missing info 5-15 FPS drop when TADS video underlay for pilot
BJ55 replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
What flanker0ne said, if not enough turn off ground shadows. The GPU has to render two (pilot view+VID) or three (pilot view+VID+IHADDS) different scenes at every frame, PNVS and TADS are also delayed, so it's a huge ammount of data to be processed. Don't know if it's possible to run video feeds at 1/2 or 1/3 FPS, it could be the best solution without lowering image quality. -
Mouse behaviour changes for Head Trackers
SharpeXB replied to Psycho666's topic in DCS Core Wish List
If it’s not already possible in the config files an easier solution would just be the ability to change the cursor size and color. Personally I have no trouble seeing this using TrackIR. My guess is that this issue is particular to VR given the small sweet spot of some HMDs but not head trackers in general. Also, welcome to DCS- 1 reply

I tried Multiplayer for over a year, with a famous spanish virtual flight group, and you will never convince me that multiplayer is better than single player: I trust my own experience more than other people's sayings.

You got it all wrong! DCS is irrefutable proof that Spheric Earthers are complete conspiracy nuts!

MIG-29 confirmed release date September?

Or these things take time to make and it's not like Wags is a full time video producer... -
" Rethink what DCS is. I dare you! " O.K. - DCS the Train Simulator ! Yes DCS Trains have a few bugs and if they can get fixed it will be great. Its good fun using the ready made DCS Maps as Very Nice Full Size Railway Layouts for the 3d Model Trains i make in Blender. I sometimes use the M.E. Scenery Removal Zone and place my own Buildings Sheds and Stations. You would think the Very Complicated Shay Locomotive with sideways cylinders would make DCS Crash but no problems were encountered. check out the interesting videos - bones animation and running in DCS Its now looking great doing realistic smoky work hauling sugar trains on Narrow Gauge Marianas WW2 Map ! Its Rewarding flying a Spitfire around looking for my Trains. Shay in DCS.flv SHAY LOCOMOTIVE bones ANIMATION 2 (3).flv

Yep, that's it. Mirrors and cockpit displays (like TV or Tads e.g) fall into the same category in that they need an additional render viewport (and therefore reduce fps)
-
Sorry to destroy your world, but singleplayer is even more a game than multiplayer. Without other humans, DCS comes down to scripted stuff and incapable AI. Or to solo training sessions with stationary targets. If you actually wanted to fly in a sim, you'd need a squadron and real opponents. Like on some of the really good campaign servers. Of course, GS server or the like are not so realistic, but the air combat is still a much better experience than against AI.

Yes, "Resolution of cockpit displays" works also for mirrors. There are 256, 512 and 1024 options to select and some have also "every frame" version, which means the displays are either refreshed with full fps or half (or 15fps, not sure). Mind that you have to restart DCS for this change to apply.

ldwater started following Migrating from stand alone to Pimax Quad Views
-
Hey, Recently I decided I should upgrade Pimax Play to see if I can check out the upscaling features & the integrated Pimax XR & Quad Views, and while the installation seemed to work fine I found that the performance & settings of the integrated Quad Views was lacking, so much so that I disabled it and went back to the stand alone version. Looking at the integrated QV settings and the QV companion settings they are not comparable and some of the settings (such as the sharpness & thickness settings at the bottom) are missing entirely. Can anyone recommend how to migrate the settings from the stand alone QVs to the Pimax Integrated version so I can test as close to 'like for like' as possible. Thanks!

Are there any game-related differences between the F4U-1D and F4U-1D_CW?
AndyJWest replied to tigershark1-1's topic in F4U-1D
Yup. Sources say by 8 inches - not sure if that's per tip, or overall. Either way, it was because some RN carriers had hangers which were just too low to take an unclipped Corsair with wings folded. There are a lot of myths floating around with regard to RN Corsairs, and the idea that this minor modification was made for any more significant reason is one of them. The RN also operated land-based Corsairs, unclipped, so they clearly didn't think it mattered otherwise. -
Like right now. I think it's great! I spend half my DCS time just flying around because it's a great flightsim. I'm here for the planes and the fun. Sure, I enjoy the high-tech MFD watch-things-go-Kaboom! aspect of it, but first and foremost it's all about the planes and the flying, and for me DCS is the tightest rightest flightsim ever. I just love the flying.
-
Thanks for sharing that. I believe we all understand that this could be affected by unexpected delays but it is highly welcomed to have a reference target timeframe. Thanks!
-
Oh ffs, the doomsayers are on the run again. Please, if you don't like DCS or can't wait for it to fail - Just. Walk. Away. But please stop trying to convince everybody else that it is flawed or doomed. When you have specific things to criticise, by all means, go ahead, idealy provide evidence and suggest solutions - but this passive aggressive dramatization, please no!

missing info 5-15 FPS drop when TADS video underlay for pilot
CoolCat74 replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
For me the solution was to change the performance settings in windows. Switching the PC from "balanced" to "best performance" fixed the stuttering issue for me. -
Quite the understatement

investigating M02 scoring
alboon2000 replied to alboon2000's topic in F/A-18C Arctic Thunder Campaign
There is definitely something wrong. But it might be on DCS side (I don't have any mod and I repaired DCS). I flew M2 again and still scored 50 (see tacview file). I skipped it and flew M3. I was scoring 0 after takeoff so I shut down DCS then opened it again, then scored 50 right at the begining. I don't have scoring issue with other campaigns though. Anyway this campaign is awsome, as each campaign you designed. Thanks ! Tacview-20250911-110330-DCS.zip.acmi -
