  2. Catapults on a Fleet Carrier are for launching aircraft in full load, zero wind conditions and are much slower turn over than fly off. A fully loaded Corsair can T/O from spawn position at the island with no problem. Taxi back was not done on a Carrier. It was pushed back by a crew, but if you must, then either reverse down the deck, or have the Ship stationary with no wind, then turn round and indulge your fantasy. Interesting fact: Essex Class Carriers were desighned to launch stern first if required by circumstances. ..
  3. Testing DCS 2.9.20 .15010 released in this September. Make a new clean mission on that version. When an airplane is placed on Tel Nof airbase's slot 84, it spawns 200 meters above the runway and falling down. This behavior might come from "Not connected any logical taxi routes" for that slot.
  4. Is there a way to please make the aerodrome list in the DTC interface in an alphabetical order? Right now, selecting the proper airfield is a true chore, as they'reall over the list without any concievable ranking. I have so far only tested it on CWG. Thanks.

  6. There are many comments like yours on many different forums, and I agree. The general comment is that the MiG-29's radar is useless. IR mode doesn't work well either; it's unusual for it not to detect a target until it's right above you, against the sky and in clear view. What use is this system when it's easier to detect a target visually? Regarding the radar, the FHS or RHS aspect setting doesn't matter, or the radar is in auto mode... as you say, it's incapable of locking onto a target in close vertical mode, even if you're seeing the target right in front of you. I also agree that you can lock onto a target (which is difficult since if it's not close, the radar can't see it), you fire your missile, you track it well with the nose of your aircraft, aiming where it should be, and it turns out that when the target approaches head-on, the lock is lost and the missile is lost... just before impact. The RWR is as if it didn't exist. I suppose that in reality it may be like that, but they could have warned that the systems are toys, because it is somewhat disappointing. That's my feeling, and it's a shame because I like the plane, the flight model, textures, etc., but you feel helpless in it. The GCI that guides you to the objective is very necessary for this plane. We were all hoping for a RedFor capable of taking on BlueFor in multiplayer, but this MiG-29 is too old.

  8. Решил проблему наконец. Нужно было включить режим разработчика. Если на Пико4 это делает без каких либо проблем, простоя 10 раз нажать на серийный номер в настройках шлема, то на квесте3 нужно заморачиваться с созданием организации для разработчика. Для этого нужно связывать телефон с шлемом, мучится с ПНВ, вводить всякие коды подтверждения и т.д. и т.п. Звучит вроде просто и есть куча пошаговых гайдов в сети, но на каждом этапе столько всяких заморочек вылазит, что пришлось целый день на это потратить. Слава богу не в пустую.
  9. Seems like a simple reasonable idea, all this needs is a standard track in the game. Some reasons why I think it hasn’t been done: It could only use free maps and modules and so might not provide useful results for the range of content in the sim. Personally how an Su-25 flying over the Caucasus performs is irrelevant to me. It would require a working track feature. This has been broken for many years, not sure if that’s been fixed entirely. DCS as a sandbox has the potential for such a wide range of scenarios, a “typical” one is hard to define. Multiplayer is sometimes much more demanding than single-player. Any preset or standard track has the potential to have bugs or break. The game will change and evolve over time so trying to be so exact about how any particular component performs for this one game at this one moment isn’t worthwhile. Finally all you need to test your own performance is to run your own track. I don’t know that a standard one matters so much. But it would be easy to include with the game.

I havn't played in a couple months so I my memory may be off but I just updated and started DCS and the loading time seems to have greatly improved, from the icon to the menu was less than 10 seconds, and from mission start to in the cockpit (VR) was less than 15 seconds. That seems to be a big improvement based on my memory. Thanks for your hard work devs! I7-14700, Quest 3 using VD, 64gb ram, RTX5080

  12. you have the wrong dcs bios version , it's written in the README , you need to DL the latest build , not the 0.8.4 nightly build required for CH-47F here too For CH-47F: Download nightly build (or later than 0.8.4)

I have the same problem, but there is a bit of a conflict in the briefing notes and your instructions. in your briefing note you imply that we should wait for Olive to launch and join up, certainly thats what i was waiting for, and as i did so an S3 starts to taxi to my rights and just stops... and then we get stuck ... i will try and taxi as soon as and wait for her to launch
  14. Keep in mind there's not just the amount of force for each effect, but also the frequency at which they occur. I tend to not touch these settings, but my current 'Low Pass Output Filters' are suggested by Walmis himself so I'm using those.
  15. The trimming problem is a fundamental problem with ED. When does the Ctrl plus ";" command decide that it's the ";" because the "," takes precedence over the ";". "," and ";" are on the same key. Only Ctrl plus "," works. You have to create a new assignment for the Ctrl plus ";" combination for the trim to work.
  16. Got it so far, that the Progam Starts and the MCDU shows the available Modules When i press "CH-47 PLT)" The following Message appears on the BIOS Program I have the Buttons assigned EDIT: When i Press for example AH64, it shows "Bridge Started successfully"
  17. Not conventional datalink in the western sense, but a one-way system feeding intercept geometry and cues. I am expecting only visual indicators on the HUD and HDD as AG posted. I would love more depth added to GCI, especially on the mission editor front. Your closest analogue in DCS currently would be TAF in the Mirage 2000. I am very interested in how ED is going to implement the system.
  18. Yes this is normal. Once you switch from the RAD position to any of the others your radar stops emitting. Unless the coop switch is on...but currently it's none functioning, so your radar turns off. It's usefull if you want to do silent intercepts. In ideal circumstances with GCI datalink working your attack would look as such. You would be guided to the target by GCI datalink, that would give you steering cues, ranges and a icon on the hud where the target is. All without turning on your radar. Once you get close you can then potentially use the IRST to continue to lock the target with the irst sensor, which will auto slave to the datalink target while still not turning on your radar and alerting the enemies RWR. At the last second you switch on the coop switch which turns on and slaves the radar to the datalink and IRST lock target, and then fire.

  20. Will there be a list of all preset radio channels for Russian operated airports? I could not find it in the kneeboard or cockpit. For example, it exists on MiG-21's right wall. In MiG-29 I have to take a guess which channel is preset to which frequency.
  21. Yellow triangles are buttons you use to enter the fuzing and other weapon options configurator. With the recent changes to the fuzing I'd say the old missions have incorrect fuzing and you need to fix it by opening the menu and selecting the fuzes you want
  22. I will attempt what you suggest, but I have a few questions: How do I "click on Capture Frame in Debug options of VREM" while in VR? Or should this be done in 2D? Also, are you using Steam VR to load the game? I'm using Virtual Desktop with Quest 3 and I'm wondering if that is causing the issue.

  24. I tried this profile, but with me the stick started shaking more and more (violently) during the AFCS check. I will try removing the stick axis from the controls to see it if works EDIT: yes, when I remove the Roll and Pitch axis from my FFbeast column, in adjust control, the AFCS test goes to the end and I get damper off lights to go away. So it defintely comes from a setting of the FFBeast setting. which is strange, because in the FFBeast setting, if I only leave the Dirext X Standard FFB effet for both elevator and aileron axis, it still doest work... must but a setting within this too... either periodic effect strenghts, spring effect strenghts, or even trimmer effect strenghts
