Fps loss 50% near water/sea and drawing of fences
609_Relentov replied to maks's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's a slippery slope, which is why I had so many edits after a lot of trial and error :). So far, with my VM/swap file (temporarily, until this issue is fixed) equaling my RAM (i.e. 65,536), I have found my FPS has for the most part been staying pegged at 60 (as I use VSync) when operating in north CWG map and looking east/north-east - plus I had toned down my settings a bit as well. I'm hoping Ugra puts out a fix for this so I can lower my VM back to a more reasonable size. -

Agree, so far, the Cold War is the only period that is worth playing due to the lack of modern jets on the Eastern side.

AGM-45 Shrike Quick Guide by Klarsnow - updated June 5th 2024

This may help. However I use Loft mode missiles with Loft mode. Also, look for WRCS mode in the manual: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/stores/air_to_ground/missiles/shrike.html -
I have a problem creating quick missions and it's on the map of Afghanistan it gets stuck in the hangar and can't get out because the hangar is too narrow and on other occasions on the same map the plane is parked for start-up in a place where the runway cannot be accessed

How I Fixed Micro Stutters (Pimax Crystal Light)

Same here - i spent weeks messing about with this and XRFrametools data - half frame rate in the pimax client was the ONLY option that minimised stutters -

Fixing TPR onto the carpet floor
Hempstead replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in Thrustmaster
I used to use a piece of marble designed for rolling croissants. Bolt the rudder pedals to the marble, as long as the marble is heavy enough it won’t move around. You can get it cheaper from HomeDepot and the likes. A piece of chopping board will do too. The good thing about wood is that you can easily add some “nails” facing downward to “grab” the carpet. -
Hello: Some runway are too short on some maps and i cant take off it happened to me in normandy in create missions . Also in the canal map.

The developer (VEAO) had an irreconcilable falling out with ED. They ceased development of the module and declined to hand over the source code so that ED could continue development. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/VEAO/ Honestly, no one's missing anything of note. The only good thing about the Hawk was the external model. The rest of it was amateurish in the extreme. It never should have seen the light of day.

@SOLIDKREATE Have you received any updates on the f-105 module? Previously, you said a developer was interested in creating the jet with the information you provided. I am asking if the developer has released any WIP showing their work. Mike Force Team

Please help me understand CPU performance
Markus77 replied to Shibbyland's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
But the i7-1400K (like any other processor) reduces its boost (sometimes significantly) when it gets too hot. Therefore important! Good cooling. This means at least a 280 or 360 water cooling system or an alternative CPU cooler with a TDP classification of at least 250W. -
Looking for some input from you guys on any monitors you are using, 38" to 45". No ultra wides, or 4k's. Using Nvidia VGA so would prefer G-SYNC monitors. I'm looking to pick one up ASAP and would like to hear what you all have. My office, or old gaming setup monitor is an LG 32" Ultra Gear 144hz G-Sync monitor and works and looks great paired with a RTX 3080ti and an old i8700K. But I've got a SimFab LD monitor stand and DCS cockpit setup now and can mount a much larger monitor. My new system has a RTX 4070 VGA, paired with a i12700KF. If you can add a link with your suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I think it would be cool to have the ability to add friends in the DCS client. You would be able to see what multiplayer server your friend is currently in. It would also be nice if there were a way to make some sort of squadron or community within the DCS client, so that you could see what server all the members of the squadron are currently in.

What was the deal with the T.1A Hawk? Why did it go away except for much older versions of DCS?

More would be better. Goats & chickens + 1 various civilian everythings - desperately needed. As has been said - currently everything on legs that moves is military. You can set objects to be from the neutral side, but from a pod or weapons' sight they'll still look like soldiers. Motorbikes are probably tricky - cars, trucks etc don't have to lean in the corners. I guess they'd need a whole new physics model. Cave / tunnel entrances is a good idea, as is a bit of disturbed earth to drop by a road to indicate that someone's been digging there. The explosives can be just triggered, but you need something to find them by. (I thought I remembered there being mines you could place already in the game?) For the others, an explosion on unit for any of the existing vehicles gets you fertiliser bombs etc...

Needing Knowledgeable Input On PC Build
Markus77 replied to rwbishUP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, it doesn't really matter as long as the radiator provides the required cooling capacity. For an AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d, I would recommend a CPU cooler with a TDP classification of at least 250W. Here, as almost everywhere, more is better. With an air cooler, however, it is essential to ensure that the warm air is removed from the housing and that enough cool air is supplied. Otherwise the fan will start to draw in warm air (which also reduces the efficiency of the cooler) which will then continue to heat up, theoretically until the temperature in the PC case is the same as on the surface of the CPU. This means that the cooling capacity is virtually ZERO. Conclusion: Air cooling only if the warm air is ‘pulled’ out of the housing and sufficient cool air is ‘pushed’ in. Greetings- 11 replies

Okay, tried all that. Somehow the thing got set to the simple flight model. The Mosquito must have done that cuz I never use thae simple one. Anyway, all that did was make it worse. It's like, as soon as the tail comes off the ground, the thing just goes out of control and will spin to the left or right and no amount of rudder or differential braking will bring it back. One time out of about 20 attempts, I got it airborne but it was still pretty much unflyable for me and shortly after takeoff it just rolled to the left and crashed regardless of what I tried to make it do.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but this one is a NO for me. Glad it was a trial and I didn't pay for it yet.

Needing Knowledgeable Input On PC Build
Dragon1-1 replied to rwbishUP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you've got the airflow, then air cooling will suffice. Water isn't really superior in performance unless you go with some sort of multi-radiator custom setup. There are some configurations where you might see a difference, but with a big, drafty case, cooling the 9800X3D shouldn't be a problem with a sufficiently beefy air cooler. Incidentally, while the X3D CPUs generally aren't much for traditional overclocking, you might want to look into undervolting. Same with the GPU. Also, one more thing, try to have at least one more fan blowing inwards than outwards. It will tend to create positive pressure inside the case, keeping the dust out to some extent (assuming there's some kind of filter on the intake, of course). The other way around will result in dust being sucked into the case through any openings which don't have a filter.- 11 replies
