  4. Well, that was... something... Honestly, aside from what I assume was AI-written and voiced text, it gets many things wrong or makes reaching assumptions, perhaps based on research from ChatGPT? I am not going for a point-for-point rebuttal as this is old, old news, and I have enough going on without reliving past speedbumps in the winding highway that is DCS. SD is correct, we have been thinking about PTO for a loooooong time, Marianas as a free map with a WWII version was planned ages ago, so no, do not drag us into anyone elses story, the world is not that big and conflicts happened in many locations that games will overlap, we do not try and stop anyone from making their own vision of any particular theater. The P-51D was what was supposed to become a Flying Legends collection in DCS, modelling some of the most epic warbirds of that and other eras. RRG came along and wanted to create an all-encompassing ETO theatre, when they saw that much of their Kickstarter went towards the first aircraft, which started the death spiral. That first WWII fighter will make or break a 3rd Party, I think, in many cases, they are more difficult to model correctly (at least when it comes to flight modelling). We never had the manpower to do a full-blown WWII sim. We picked up the pieces the best we could, and we have what we have now. With the F4U coming and the Hellcat being a favourite of the boss, a dip into the PTO theatre just made sense. If we do a Zero... oh my, while other games could do many different Zeros, our version, if we can, would be... epic. Anyways... Let sleeping dogs lie, I will leave this video here and open, but not sure I care to see anymore here I know how it ends.
  5. I noticed from Calvin's YouTube video that the 120Hz option is no longer available? I've been using 120Hz/Half Frame/TAA/MB QV and Companion with a smooth 60FPS. Does this mean in future only 90/72 or only 45/36 at half frame?
  6. I apologize if this is in the wrong area. It's not a bug I'm posting about, just a "problem" I'm having. I must be missing something simple. I tried doing searches here but didn't find this question/topic. In F1 view, when I roll the scroll wheel forward, I get a zoom in, moving closer to the panel. In F2 view, I get the opposite direction of movement... transposing backward, moving farther away from the aircraft. I'd like the movement to be consistent, whether it's a zoom or a transpose, as I switch between the two views often. I'd appreciate any help I can get on this. Thanks in advance, Mike dcs.log

  8. For one, it's not a turn fighter so stop flying it like one? Get altitude. Dive down on your opponent. Hit him and run. That's the basic play book for just about every warbird in DCS except the Spitfire and maybe the K-4.
  9. Not sure where to report this bug, but the SAMP/T Complex is not effective against drones, missiles or airplanes. So I've put together a simple test mission on the Caucaus Map with the Ground 300 radar, both kinds of command trucks in Missile Engagement & Mission Command, and some launchers.   10. Okay, I saved the Track so that works out. I had to split it into 2 volumes though because of the 50mb limit so download both files this one and the one in the next comment I make . Let me know if the file doesn't work and I'll upload the track over in the DCS User Files instead. It's a long mission so fast forward. I think it was the 3rd sortie.   12. I wish they wouldn't do that. They'll never get it out in '26. If they want a decent F-35? They have a lot of core mechanics they desperately need to work on (RCS, namely) as DCS handles RCS pretty poorly at the moment. If it drops in 2026? It'll be pretty undercooked and not worth a pre-order.
  13. This plane is pretty cool (as I move the plane hangar rank order of my DCS purchases during the July month long sale). I really enjoyed in depth part 1 of the training mission. Just wondering if there are some upgrades to textures in VR. I am looking for minor texture upgrades, it is sometimes hard to read the text on the panels. I can see some of the other birds in VR quite fine. Performance is great on VR, if too texture heavy then the performance suffers (only have 8gb vram). Thank you for the addon.

  16. Very cool of Dino to respond. Let's hope the DCS Team of IFE can do some updates for this plane and get it patched up. As I stated I have a melancholy answer; I really want to use this plane and do proper training and the campaign which comes with it. I do not have RZ's South Atlantic to do user created campaign in the community files. In the meantime, the plane goes in the hangar for me for now It is excellent in VR by the way PS - Other DCS Devs can you please make some paid campaigns. Also I am not Hrak as seen on this pic, I too had asked similar questions on the Discord channel.

  18. This also happens in instant action and ED made missions. Commonly directed to cat 1 full of parked Hornets. Also just occurred now in bold cheeta mission 3. Please fix this.
  19. Honestly, better missile modeling all around is a pretty important feature that is missing. But, I'm sure the project managers absolutely know best as I have been told, repeatedly.
  20. There is literally no need to do that. And irl we wouldnt remove tanks to put on new ones because the new ones would still have to be filled. We dont ever load full fuel tanks. So that doesnt simulate anything. It also sounds like OP is trying not to jettison anything. And some servers have warehouse systems enabled so if you do that, and there is a limited number of fuel tanks, then you eat into the number of tanks available screwing other people over.

Experiencing the same performance issues - also do not have these issues with the p47 over the same terrain, conditions, units etc. The canopy reflection helped alot - THANK YOU, however i still experience wild and frequent spikes when units are resolved near the F4U and over any map (excepting caucuses).   24. 1 - No. DCS is nowhere near using 64GB of RAM and it won't be for, at least, a few years. 2 - Yes. 12GB is on the low end of VRAM amount for a 2025 card. You might not notice it right now, but it could start limiting you in a couple of years. If the price difference is not outrageous, go for the ti. More future proof, too. 3 - Yes. Both those cards will laugh at you at 1080p. Throw them a real challenge: 1440p should be a nice upgrade without breaking your bank.
