This plane is pretty cool (as I move the plane hangar rank order of my DCS purchases during the July month long sale). I really enjoyed in depth part 1 of the training mission. Just wondering if there are some upgrades to textures in VR. I am looking for minor texture upgrades, it is sometimes hard to read the text on the panels. I can see some of the other birds in VR quite fine. Performance is great on VR, if too texture heavy then the performance suffers (only have 8gb vram). Thank you for the addon.

Very cool of Dino to respond. Let's hope the DCS Team of IFE can do some updates for this plane and get it patched up. As I stated I have a melancholy answer; I really want to use this plane and do proper training and the campaign which comes with it. I do not have RZ's South Atlantic to do user created campaign in the community files. In the meantime, the plane goes in the hangar for me for now It is excellent in VR by the way PS - Other DCS Devs can you please make some paid campaigns. Also I am not Hrak as seen on this pic, I too had asked similar questions on the Discord channel.

This also happens in instant action and ED made missions. Commonly directed to cat 1 full of parked Hornets. Also just occurred now in bold cheeta mission 3. Please fix this. -
Honestly, better missile modeling all around is a pretty important feature that is missing. But, I'm sure the project managers absolutely know best as I have been told, repeatedly.

There is literally no need to do that. And irl we wouldnt remove tanks to put on new ones because the new ones would still have to be filled. We dont ever load full fuel tanks. So that doesnt simulate anything. It also sounds like OP is trying not to jettison anything. And some servers have warehouse systems enabled so if you do that, and there is a limited number of fuel tanks, then you eat into the number of tanks available screwing other people over.

Experiencing the same performance issues - also do not have these issues with the p47 over the same terrain, conditions, units etc. The canopy reflection helped alot - THANK YOU, however i still experience wild and frequent spikes when units are resolved near the F4U and over any map (excepting caucuses). The dcs log file has thousands of these entries and they seem to correspond to when the spikes occur 2025-08-04 15:22:38.030 WARNING LOG (11288): 1 duplicate message(s) skipped. 2025-08-04 15:22:38.030 INFO F4U_FlightModel (Main): Damage, element[98] : 1.000000 Later today will try the following and see if things improve disable_write_log = true in autoexec (if IO issue related) - probably unlikely? test with invincibility on (if damage system is triggering crazy unnecessary? or collision model artifact when F4U is near AI, certain terrain, or carrier, etc?) cockpit global Illum off (i think i already have that off but will check)

1 - No. DCS is nowhere near using 64GB of RAM and it won't be for, at least, a few years. 2 - Yes. 12GB is on the low end of VRAM amount for a 2025 card. You might not notice it right now, but it could start limiting you in a couple of years. If the price difference is not outrageous, go for the ti. More future proof, too. 3 - Yes. Both those cards will laugh at you at 1080p. Throw them a real challenge: 1440p should be a nice upgrade without breaking your bank.

I created a user mission using the Normandy map. Flying the P51D with 3 AI aircraft in the flight. I created a rectangular trigger zone called Muzak and created a ONE-TIME “Radio Transmission” trigger that plays an .ogg file and assigned the frequency as AM 131mhz. Player Radio C is set to 131mhz. During takeoff I can hear aircraft 2, 3 and 4 announce they are “rolling” and other normal communications (like wheels up, etc.). I can issue commands to the flight like changing formation etc. and the flight responds as expected (“roger”, “affirmative”). However after playing the .ogg file by selecting radio channel C and changing back to channel A, I can no longer issue commands to the flight. The trigger plays the .ogg file as it should but once it is done and I switch back to the normal frequency (118.45) I can’t seem to communicate with the flight.anymore. I tried issuing commands like changing formation and return to base but the flight doesn’t follow the commands or respond in any way. Hopefully this explanation allows you to recreate the issue.

As an addition to this, it would be nice if George would say the range to any target he is currently commanded to track.

Do some searching, especially in the PC hardware and software/Input devices subforum. Pretty sure this has been asked before and IIRC there is no obvious workaround, but I didn't pay that much attention. -
About to post a video tonight with some suggestions to add to the module. I really like that Matt (ASC CEO) asked the community to please provide feedback on any features or functions they may have missed or we would like to see. I do not expect implementation of every or anything I suggest, but I do appreciate the request for feedback.

I have much less FPS on this map vs others, and also certain spots of trees/terrain are not blocking LOS for AI units. They can see through it and shoot through it. -
IMHO, it is very nice that ASC developer/owner has made comments this thread even though this is just a pre-order.
