Here is that tweak guide EtherealN is referring to: link But before you dive in to tweaking: you say you are happy with the frame rate you have now, and only have a problem when you have the shkval on. There are quite a few threads on that topic and there isn't a lot you can do about the frame drop (unless ED makes DCS really work with mutiple cores). Till then, zooming in to your shkval/maverick screen and only look down in to your cockpit when you have it on saves you from having too much of a frame hit.

  4. Заранее хочу попросить прощения у фанатов ГС2 за то, что подвергну критике эту игру. Просто наболело. За что я отдал почти 40 баксов? 1. За лаги, т.е. за то, что в сетевой игре, после атаки цели, начинает лагать так, что я не могу справится с управлением и разбиваюсь. Я далеко не новичок в игре. Да, возможно, у меня комп недостаточно мощный, но тогда на какую аудиторию расчитывали маркетологи разработчиков? Кто из новичков будет юзать лаги? Вам же нужны деньги. Вы же хотели привлечь как можно больше народа для игры. И что получили? Как довольно немолодой человек, играющий только в ЛО, хочу сказать, что вы получили..... стыд и срам. Попробую обосновать: 2. Графика. Вы говорили, что графика будет супер. Деревья, птицы, в кустах можно будет рассмотреть божьих коровок, а что получили? Да все вроде бы нормально получили. Но. Приходится почти все отключать, чтобы полетать нормально(возможно только у меня, но я по-прежнему отношу себя к новечкам) Вопрос, для кого вы все это создавали? 20 человек в мире получили то, что хотели. 3. А что нового в игре? Да не фига. Нарисовали ИЛС на Су- 25Т, добавили кружочек. И что еще? Реальной видимости не оплучилось. Активные ракеты стали летать лучше, тупо изменили несколько параметров в файлах и усе, деньги сделаны. Может еще что-то есть, но честно говоря, даже вспоминать не хочется. Полное разочерование. Вывод.Я умею читать, и на форуме народ уже высказывался на эту тему. Я лишь хотел сказать, что ваша новая игра полное фуфло! НО. Буду играть, т.к. банально, нормальной альтернативы просто нет. И вы этим хорошо пользуетесь. Так за что я отдал 40 баксов? Такое чувство, что я просто лох. Как-то коротко получилось, хотя мог бы говорить часами на эту тему. Просто спешу. Времени стало катострофически мало. Появляется свободный часок, захожу в игру, отдохнуть, получить удовольствие, а получаю.... сплошной пипец за свои же 40 баксов)))

Is ED planning on building a complete global map? like fsx has. i know its a combat simulator, but it also works great as a "Just fly from A to B sim" and tbh, i dont need it to be detailed down to the last grass straw, as long as i manage to navigate in the airspace i know, through lakes, roads and cities i dont need a massive level of detail... and for further DCS expansions, just do what 3rd party expansions for FSX does... use a basic world map and just detail the operation areas a bit more... fsx`s ORBX would be the perfect thing to compare it with... just a wishful thought :P

  9. Согласен. Повреждения техники прописаны ужасно. На форуме все требуют АФМ для леталок. Вот что-то подобное нужно и наземке. К примеру в стратегии Faces of war и гусеници рвутся, и башню с танков срывает, и движки горят, но танк стреляет... Кроме того меня удивляет, почему уничтоженый мост, в котором кроме железа и бетона ничего нету, горит несколько минут, а уничтоженная боевая машина с несколькими сотнями литров топлива и десятками снарядов несколько секунд?

  11. Really? Which aircombat planes do you know of, that travel around the world for a fight? X-plane and FS-series are civilian aircraft simulators that are designed to simulate long-range flights, intercontinental flights or simply sight-seeing-tours in your own neighborhood or at any place of interest. DCS is designed to simulate air-to-air combat or air-to-ground combat. As combat usually takes place in a rather limited area, the current system is much more suited for this simulation than a world-map. Naturally the interests of both categories are largely different.

Sorry to say this, but Protos: I think I can see that you are not a software engineer. ;) I'd say there are probably very specific hurdles involved due to the fact that things have to actually fight on the terrain, and do so in a predictable manner and in a way that the computer can handle. Completely aside from the detail of generating the terrain, that is, to a sufficiently detailed degree that it is both qualitative and "good enough" to allow ground interdiction missions (which I guess would be the objective of having such a radically expanded map) to have any point.

  15. A quick suggestions: do the "water tweak" if you haven't already. Basically you change a value in a setting file to a value that is not supported through the "real" options interface. This can save you a bit. There is also an article somewhere by Frazer about tweaking DCS:BS which generally applies well to FC2 as well.

  16. Good question, I suggest searching the forum ... I do not think you can get a whole lot of relief for this particular issue unfortunately. As for SF, the DRM is from the same company but of different nature; rather than installing a driver, it just performs an online activation of your product when you start it up. It is called Frontline ProActive IIRC.

  17. Global terrain is a good idea for DCS as it opens up the Aircombat to its fullest potential. I think its quite possible that ED could add Global terrain if they wanted too and I would not be surprised if it became the next thing that all sims have. Currently there is FSX and Xplane plus FO in development which are going to have this feature. With Google Earth and other sources I can imagine that it'll be someday in DCS. The advantages are that Virtual Squadrons could be based in home countrys, you could have conflicts and dynamic campaigns running Globally and alliances could add politics to the way in which wars are fought online. It would be good to have the SDK released so that people can expand DCS further into ship and tank combat and possibly even FPS. With FSX you can download terrain mods which make it very close to how it looks IRL so even if EDs too buisy to make the terrain more detailed I'm sure someone would probably make some payware or freeware terrain mods. Also if they did expand into a Global map they should also tap into the void left by FSXs devs and make civ aircraft as well.

  23. Hi zdXu, Please find answers below. Yes, you should contact tower with standard requests foreseen by simulator engine. If tactical officer asks you to switch to tower - you no doubt should do that - otherwise mission will not be recognized as complete. It will happen in nearly every mission but scores (%) for obeying landing procedure will be given only in last missions (meaning you can't score 100% without correct approach, landing and parking) of this part of VG campaign. However, this will be a rule for all missions in subsequent parts of VG project. 1/10th part is the easiest one. VG campaign does not modify player's capacity to use DCS: Ka-50 BS. You will be able to share tracks, debriefings and screenshots. It will be difficult only to modify the missions in built-in editor. Of course, one should not share the campaign itself. This is a commercial product. Your payment means support for further project development. The plan is to publish 10 parts (chapters) of campaign 20 missions each. Today we have scenario for 186 missions. 20 missions cost $4. Payment via LiqPAY system (more info at www.liqpay.com). Purchase procedure should not be difficult. You can download missions after payment was conducted. You'll be prompted for e-mail to where you will get the download link. 20 missions take up 45Mb - mostly radiocommunications files plus pictures and instructions (briefings). Totally 306 sound files in the missions (one file can be monologue or dialogue of any length). This is technical info that recon equipments is using. It is no use for the mission - image is the single important thing - as justification of engaging weapons in the mission. This is plan of the operation. Part of combat order. The order was coordinated with specialists of recon and combat planning departments. Tactical plan is coordinated with flight plan (FP). This is seen from other maps as well. Keeping to FP and orders is a must! Actions beyond FP will not lead to mission success. In reality pilot will be tried by a military tribunal for unauthorized activities resulting in career finish and long imprisonment sentence. The worst scenario could be lost of combat unit, death of pilot, other officers and soldiets involved into operation. Mission 018 is very difficult if entered without completing previous missions. All missions are expected to be passed in a given order. Objectives might be changing (compared to initial plan) while in air in some missions - this is always warranted by Tactical deparment officer.

  27. Несколько вопросов по игре: 1. Видит ли ИИ освещённый самолёт ночью лучше, чем неосвещённый? 2. Есть ли разница в уровне тяги при манёвре от ракеты с ИК ГСН? 3. Влияют ли облака(туман) на что-нибудь, кроме видимости игрока? 4. Влияет ли скорость колонны на марше на точность её стрельбы? 5. Влияет ли состояние ВПП (дождь, снег) на длину тормозного пути самолёта? 6. Есть ли время реакции ЗРК и ПЗРК после того как они же засекли цель (особенно ПЗРК - ведёт огонь сразу когда в зоне поражения, или есть время подготовки к неожиданно появившейся цели)?

  33. Hi, ... hm ... what should I say. Everybody knows that I`m really not a fan about higly counted models. In past I tryed to build my models with about less them 20.000 triangles. But now ED gave us the new engine and that works well. I wondered how it was possible to build so higly detailed cars and trucks without got`ing issues with performances. And so I had to realize that in future models have to show more details while using a lot of more triangles. So for examble an fully loaded Su-25 uses arround 60-70.000 triangles and it works well without any problems. I tryed to bring some little more details into my model. Here I rendered some little impressions: Uploaded with ImageShack.us That`s 40.000 triangles. Hm... Now I now that really "high detailed" models are possible as well and I really hope that a good crew`s just like 3 GO or Gyss, Yenicery or alll the other guys started to bring us so fantastic models they did in past :thumbup: My best wishes, TOM

  34. Some country with modern cities, seaports, skyscrapers, shopping malls, multi-storey car parks, huge industrial areas, multi level intersections, etc. Taiwan was my favorite in EECH. I'd just love to take-off from a parking lot in some suburb, do a 50km flight to other side of the city, blow up some tanks hiding under road underpasses, artillery battery in golf course, a MANPADS team on a parking lot of a burger joint and provide close air support for infantry fighting house to house in some residential area.

  35. I can't imagine my flying without TIR anymore. I would rather take cheap joystick and TIR if I'd be you. TrackIR is something that you have to learn how to use it first which can be hard if you use small monitor. I remember my first trying of TIR - I had a real bad headake. But It took me only two days getting used to it.

  40. These structures have proven difficult to texture, just getting them to look right, especially that scaffolding running down the sides of each building, it took me a while to figure out what they were. I'm undecided on these textures, but i kinda think they look the part....

  44. I love the way in wich we Poles change in translation meaning of many movies, books and... F-16s. Do You want to know name of polish Falcon? "Jastrzab" - means Hawk :doh: . Don't know why they have done that... There was a competion for the name. The propositions were really funny. Best one: "predatory potato beetle". I'm not kidding! Ask Shaman. Man...
