OMG, not again! Why people write questions before they use search-engine remains mystery to me. (removed, search yourself!)2 points

Just made a small list with pictures and some info to help identify the effectiveness the SAM-systems since I couldn't find any such document anywhere. I bet there are others who, unlike some of you (I'm sure ;)), haven't memorized how fast every SAM-system can kill you. So here's to you! :clown_2: Edit: Ugh... Just remembered I downloaded the rar at the wiki made by toby23. It appearantly has pretty much the same and other data. Doh! SAM List Small.pdf1 point

I thought many might find this interesting and because of the need to register on time I didn't want it to get burried in F-35 thread. LockHeed Martin will be hosting a live Webinar with F-35 Pilots who will take your Questions. The Event is Thursday Jan.19. 12pm Eastern Standard Time. You do need to Register before hand. http://ow.ly/8rsSy1 point

А как на счёт в момент касания,скриптовая встряска камеры,с резким переводом взгляда в низ до упора(можно покраснением в глазах,если есть в реале),с плавным возвращением в исходное положение после торможения.1 point

Paul, you know i was being flippant and that was obvious by the rest of the post. I really dont think it was worth giving a troll a excuse to make my blood boil, (he never fails) by quoting it. As i said, you have our full support. Regards 'T'1 point

Sorry if this question has been asked before , used the search and couldn't find anything specific. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but from my estimation, the Tanker only turns on its Nav lights at around 500 ft. This is fine during the day, but I find it almost impossible to visually acquire the Tanker at night. The light strip is not visible until you're on its six, goggles are no help against the star background. Tacan can get me close, within a mile, but that's not close enough to see it. I'm sure that with precise nav cues I could fly it up its ass, but I don't believe the Tacan is that accurate. Is this how it's done in RW? To me,it seems that nighttime ops would require different procedures, perhaps lights on at 1 or 2 miles out?1 point

Nice job Paul, this sounds like fun. Don't worry about "that" special guy, this is shaping up to be big!1 point

I can confirm the same AMD 7970 problem with DCS A10 and DCS blackshark 2. All my other games run fine including blackshark 1 and FC2. Hopefully they fix the drivers soon since I updated my system so I could play these sims.1 point

I think we are just going to have to wait for a new driver, Kuky. More on the card... I have been spending time in Rise of Flight and I am amazed at how much the card has helped there. I've seen screenshots of some great looking sims but never witnessed them first hand until now. I've been going through graphics options one at a time, and turning them up instead of down! I had no idea a flight sim could look this good. The HD 7970 is just what my system needed. I do miss BS2, but it will hopefully get sorted out soon. I will never go without "eye candy" again. :)1 point

Day 21: Marco Polo II (This mission requires Speed's Slmod on your server! - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80979) Chat types: "-status" get mission status (optional & WIP: "-support" some F-15E will provide support with CBU97 against artillery) "-position" get visual contact with rattle (useful for Ka-50s) "-move" & "-hold" orders for ground units (rattle 1-3) ( ) If you see them starting to shoot or someone is shooting at them, let them stop. :) NATO Offensive (callsigns): "Rattle 1-3": German Tank Platoon "Rattle 6": Platoon Commander. "Enfield1": Nato RTO "Uzi": Turkish Ka-50s "Hawg": USAF A-10Cs (Tanker on station: "Texaco" 150.000AM - TACAN: 13X) Objective: Capture and secure Beslan Airport Task A-10: 1. Engage SAM at Farp(marco), Marco & Polo. 2. Clear Rattle route P1 (along the road through Beslan) 3. Clear Rattle route P2 (along the road through Vladikavkaz) 4. Engage enemy Artillery. 5. Support Ka-50 flight "Uzi". 6. Support our advancing ground forces (RATTLE). Note: -Do not destroy any bridges! -North from Beslan you could get in trouble with SA-10. -Stay south from Beslan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ka-50: 1. Meet Rattle at IP "Columbus" 2. Capture enemy FARP(marco). (you have to call supply units via chat. But only if this farp is safe. Its a good sign when you are hovering over the farp and no one is shooting at you. ;) You can also check whether the farp is blue on the F10 Map) 3. Support our advancing ground forces (RATTLE). Note: -Do not destroy any bridges! -A lot of AAA. Stay close to RATTLE and do not fly over cities! --------------------------------------------------------------- Threat: SAM at Marco FARP SAM at VLADIKAVKAZ SAM at BESLAN AIRPORT AAA, tanks (everywhere :joystick: ) Tally choppers could be active in this area. Listen to AWACS on 124000 AM ! (btw rattle has some Roland SAM ;)) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Initial points: MARCO = VLADIKAVKAZ POLO = BESLAN AIRPORT FARP = FARP (marco) PONE = P1 PTWO = P2 (how to handle initial points: ) Day & night versions are included in the Red Snake mission pack: Download:Missionpack PS: At night, this mission is not easy for shark pilots. It would be good if some A10 would support Ka-50 flight with IR marking). There are also some loadouts with illumination flares avaiable for A10s and Ka50s. PPS: I guess I'm going to lose a few friends now, but A10C pilots should not be surprised, because you can not change your payloads at mission start.:D But during the mission, you will be informed where you can repair, reload and refuel. ( so 6x Mavs or 14x GBU payloads have to wait. :music_whistling:)1 point

Try this it didnt like the filename. Sorry bout that. 3Cameras2MFCD.rar You may have to "unblock" it if you have UAC on1 point

I compared your lines to my own and I noticed two little differences on every line: Your: Var 0111 name WR_GCAS, Link IOCARD_OUT, Output 24 // WRNG_GCAS Mine: Var 111, name NSAFE_LDGEAR, Link IOCARD_OUT, Output 11 A leading zero (note there isn't one in your siocconfig.lua - nor mine) and a missing comma, that is. Please note that I don't really know whether or not these things matter, though. I hope this was helpful.1 point

I know you're trying to make the same case as me, Demongornot, but I think some of your arguments and expectations are too far-fetched to be taken seriously(e.g. comparing flight sim graphics directly to first-person shooters). We're talking about modelling an entire country here - not just a small valley. I've tried to reproduce EtherealN's photo in DCS and in Rise of Flight, and compared them so we can learn a bit more about how colours contribute to realism. Notice how in the real-life photo (and in Rise of Flight), the forests have some very dark areas in amongst the trees which appear almost black, and some lighter areas which give the trees their green appearance. In the DCS landscape, there is no black at all. The darkest colour to be found anywhere in DCS's forests is still lighter than the lightest colour in the real-life forest. The horizon haze is also very grey, compared with the medium blue of the real-life example. Note how similar the average colour is between the three images - this tells us that the differences boil down to contrast, not the colours by themselves. It doesn't really matter how your screen is calibrated - nothing's going to change the fact that the DCS landscape has almost zero colour contrast. Now both DCS and Rise of Flight have their graphical strengths and weaknesses, but when it comes to colours, I really think that DCS could learn a thing or two from RoF. The first change I would recommend is to darken both the trees themselves and the terrain under them to give the impression of a more lush, dense forest. Another improvement would be to give the atmospheric haze some extra saturation and that distant bluish hue we see in real life.1 point

That is because the NVG is oversaturated by the light from the HUD. Easy remedied by turning down the HUD brightness.1 point

Use the night vision goggles, Right shift + H by default I believe. You might also want to set the HUD to night mode by means of the little switch underneath the TGP arm and Lase arm switches1 point

Awesome job with great details. Make the rivets softer. Germans used rivets that fit very well onto the skin to make it look very smooth and make a good airflow. Much unlike early Spitfires and Hurricanes had. I can send you pictures of a G-model from Sinsheim / Speyer, if you are interested.1 point

Ho okey sorry. But technically its not as the level of DCS but its still really nice (10 time better than X-Plane and 1000 time better than Flight Simulator) but its really advanced for weather cause its made over RC simulator and the precision that we need for made thermal wind and other complex weather who ca affect little weight aircraft require extremely realistic and advanced weather engine, technically the weather are better for AFFS than DCS but don't matter, its still nice for DCS too. @EtherealN & HiJack Yes i agree too its nice, but its only a screenshot, i wait to see the final product, but yes every screenshots are nice ! But that not correct the problem for the Georgia :/1 point

Ah no, you misunderstood me. I meant that the flight models aren't up to DCS standards. I wasn't talking about the graphics.1 point

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the answer. I thought it was just a weird reflection which I have seen from my flying days.1 point

To be specific: a lot of the brightness is an illusion: the roads are exactly the same brightness in the shadows as outside of it, because the shadow wasn't applied to them. Obviously: WIP. (And that's a relatively old picture, as well.)1 point

Yep, I remember the arcadish Jane's USAF and it was using it.1 point

Ummm...thats exactly what the Nevada map does. It's orthographic imagery draped onto the DEM mesh, with 3D objects placed on top. The MSFS series - and to a much greater extent, MSFS addons - have been doing this for more than a decade. I think even Jane's USAF Fighters did this back in 1999.1 point
