  2. 1. Wombat got Delta to host a visit for Wags to get sim time at the training center. 2. No F15C FF planned 3. Dynamic Campaign is being worked on 4. No E2, no P8, No Recon aircraft modules planned 5. Some DCS users/fans have sent classified info to ED to try and help further development. ED's stance is to shut down the effort and they don't want anything to do with it. 6. ED will not be attempting to develop 5th gen or any current frontline assets as they can't confirm systems operation 7. Roughly 170-180 people working for ED worldwide. 8. The F4E is gonna be pretty cool, with new module features not seen in DSC prior. 9. The P8 flyover of the football game did not impress anyone. 10. ED is working on a DTC function for FF modules. Gonky believes they should leave this out of a "Fun" sim title. 11. No planned flyable B17 12. No bombers planned 13. ED is still planning to make a full spherical world map. 14. C-130 is still work in progress, developer and ED are working on cargo system. 15. Chinook Logistics will come after aircraft completion, cargo system and dynamic campaign. 16. Development priorities for ED are centered on products and features that satisfy the largest DCS user demographics. 17. No Viper A, B or D planned 18. F-5E update question to WAGS reveals that there are secret plans for an F-5E update in the future and WAGS can't talk about it. 19. VULCAN API is a huge project and it's in the works. 2024 and beyond. 20. ED is currently working on WWII assets and more specifically for the Marianas map. Naval assets mentioned for WWII Naval Aviation. -----I might of missed a few points, but interesting listening. Had to walk away halfway through video.. ----- 21. Lots of talk about Aliens. Mostly doubt that the congressional hearing had any legitimate substance. WAGS feels we will find out soon enough that there is financial gain somewhere. 22. Why no F-18D? WAGS, says resources are elsewhere and now is not the right time to start the "D" when the "C" isn't finished. 23. User request for a kneeboard you can write on and is available in F10 mission planner. WAGS agrees it is a good idea. 24. User asks, why is the bomb frag damage so small? WAGS says they are actively working on a higher fidelity fragmentation bubble. 25. Wombat brought Gonky to an A-320 sim and Gonky kicked too much right rudder and freaked the sim out. More picking on Gonky. 26. User asks if current Maps will be merged into the Spherical map project. WAGS answered no, that the technology is the limiting factor. 27. User asks about small diameter bombs. WAGS answered if the aircraft would carry SDB's, then it's an option for the future if they can get the documentation to back it up. 28. No planned Japanese aircraft modules or assets for WWII period. 29. Talk about "Mass Effect", "Cyberpunk" and "StarField" 30. Another request for an F-35. WAGS, says absolutely not as there is no legitimate info available. 31. User asks about a Vairo Aero fix and WAGS says they don't have the headset and the company can't afford to buy every piece of hardware. 32. Somebody wants a "TurboCat" Module. Nobody knew what it was. 33. Question about the "AI Texture Controversy".. WAGS doesn't know what they are talking about.. 34. There are some "Century Series" fighters in the development pipeline. Had to walk away again.. with about 50 minutes left..

  3. The idea was a subscription for just a hypothetical "Dynamic World", not "DCS World". My comment was more about the concept, than the subscription, but most people zeroed in on having to pay money instead of the idea concept. But I get it, most people really don't want to part with their money, but they have no problem asking developers... To work harder and faster... You get to choose two outa three.. Fast.. Good.. or Cheap.. Cheers Dragon

  4. The main issue for me with 2.9 is still all the issues with weapons using cruise missile schemes. ED said it's been solved and the fix will be included in the next DCS update. So if you've waited this long, I'd probably wait for the next patch. If you don't want to break a lot of weapons in game.

  5. Voted for sticking with the satellite imagery. Don't think that popularity of the map will rise when changing everything to hand crafted textures. I like the latest performance improvements. This and maybe creating more local assets is what the resources should go into. edit: That's just looking great as it is:

  6. No offence, but there are places that switched from the satellite imagery to generic textures a few patches ago (around certain airports). They are now the worst-looking parts of this map. Satellite imagery can never be perfect, and will always require a lot of tedious work to correct. But it is what makes the ground "pop". Otherwise it would be Caucasus 2.0. So, unless you see some insurmountable technical obstacles in going forward with the phototerrain ("it does have anomalies" is too vague), my vote is for keeping it as is.

  7. Hey everyone, just a short update on Arctic Thunder, the 2 Kola map campaigns we’re working on with @baltic_dragon . The skeletons of the missions are all set up, the script is nearly final, and the map is coming along nicely, it’s going to look amazing. However, in order to be able to finalize the scripts, we need some areas of the map to be completely final before we can start recording the voice overs. We are very happy with the campaigns so far, we came up with an interesting storyline, and you’ll be able to play through it from 2 different perspectives: a Finnish Hornet pilot, or a USAF Viper pilot. The 2 storylines sometimes intersect, overlap, or just simply affect each other. We can’t wait to show you.

  10. With any aircraft we consider developing we have to think about return of investment and for some airframes it would be difficult to meet that return.

  13. Actually, formation takeoffs are not normal for departures. In fact, in the US, formation takeoffs are prohibited when carrying any stores on the wings. Generally, you only see formation takeoffs in UPT or B Course when stores are not normally carried. Sometimes, the Navy would do formation takeoffs during their Airpower demos at airshows - especially in the Tomcat era at NAS Oceana, but in normal ops, takeoffs are usually sequenced. Other countries' regulations may be different, but in the US you definitely won't see formation departures during routine training ops... and especially not in combat ops.

  14. Yeah, sure.. I wouldn't have a problem either. Just to be clear, the subscription idea was only for a "Streaming Version" of a Spherical DCS World. Only players that wanted to be a part of something like that would opt in to the subscription to access the "Dynamic World" You would still be able to play DCS with all your modules for free, you just wouldn't be able to log in to the ED server infrastructure that hosted the "Dynamaic World". Such an offering from any company would cost significantly to maintain, not to mention take "Years" to develop. Just "Spitballing" here.

  15. I like it now, because it is different than other maps. It would lost part of originality if you change it by the common way.

  16. When creating a Markpoint via the TGP while looking at a target that has an offset set with VIP-TO-TGT, the Markpoints will be created with an negative offset equal to the bearing and distance set in the VIP-TO-TGP menu. Steps to reproduce: select IP Steerpoints create offset top Target (LIST->3, enter offset here, make sure VIP-TO-TGT is highlighted via M-SEL) Switch from IP to the TGT (bottom right on the FCR or TGP pages in the MFDs) Switch to TGP, look at target, create Point track (Optional) Dobber Right/Return to Create Markpoint via 7 -> TMS UP -> M-SEL, to select steerpoint. Result: Markpoint is created at the Location of the IP point. Expected Result: Markpoint is created where the TGP is looking. 1f-16vipmkp.miz.trk

  17. With all the fun from the E, I would definitely purchase a FF F-15C. I think the priorities of doing an aircraft solely based on multi-role and will everyone purchase it is in the past. We have so many flavors of everything at our fingertips presently. Nothing like back when FC2 was released. The FF Eagle needs to be born.

  18. We all have lots of things we want to see in DCS, ask anybody and they will give you different things they want to see. Lots of the requests are things we are already working on, however the reality is everything we do takes time, and we all need to be patient. thanks

  23. 20. ED is currently working on WWII assets and more specifically for the Marianas map. Naval assets mentioned for WWII Naval Aviation. 28. No planned Japanese aircraft modules or assets for WWII period. Mmmmmh, this is confusing. What's the point of working in a Marianas WWII map without anything Japanese? I understand no playable modules, but no assets whatsoever?. Is this map intended just for training and sightseeing?

  25. First of all, I think DCS is a great product and the attention to detail is unparalleled, but in my opinion the weather system is one area where at least for me it is quite dated. I don't mean visuals (they're great) but the simulation of the air we fly in. I'll try to break it down: 1. Wind direction - it's too stable. Wind constantly changes IRL - perhaps use an arc and change frequency instead of a single direction? 2. Wind speed - just like above, give us the ability to set min/max and change frequency (freq could use the same value as above for simplicity's sake) 3. Wind gusts - adding them would bring a lot of realism to the game. They should use separate direction arc/strength/frequency. 4. Visibility/humidity - the current fog is in my opinion not enough. Some more options would bring a lot to the sim. 5. Vertical air movement (thermals/turbulences) - we have lots of desert maps in DCS, I'm sure all those cities should produce big thermals, especially at noon. Also things like forests or hillsides should produce up/down drafts. I'd like to point out I'm this is not the same as dynamic weather. All of the changes above could still use predefined, "static" weather presets, which could later be expanded to change over time. Also, I know that when flying at mach 1.5 at 30k ft none of this would matter but the "DCS experience" is much more than just that. Helis, warbirds, even some cold war jets would greatly benefit from those improvements and as for big jets - you still have to take-off or land sometimes. Not to mention the effect it would have on unguided weapons.

  26. we are continually working on improvements and enhancements every spare minute I get. like today I created another destruction model for one of the buildings. I was curious about this as I feel that this could be an option I was thinking of putting the work in and offering this as a mod until ED have some way to deliver 2 texture sets if they ever do this then you would have the option. See how the poll goes thanks for filling it in

  28. Early stage company vs. late stage company. Just a choice each of us gets to make, like said above (pick your poison). And a reminder that the experience noted in this thread is, I'm sorry to say and don't want to offend anyone, not reflective of the full population of WinWing customers. All that said, I feel for you and hope you end up with a good/satisfying solution with your gear.

  29. I could see that being an issue. Maybe part of the DC design takes into account campaign makers too. A way for them to use it as a tool to generate a set of missions and for them to fine tune and spend more time creating great stories behind them and less time in the mission editor. I don’t see ED’s Dynamic Campaign having the ability to generate cut scenes and things like that after certain victories. Or automatically generate voice lines as the story progresses etc. Of course I’m wild guessing here. Maybe it will have some sort of AI engine integrated at some point that could do that I 100% see your point on that, though. But I do feel like ED would consider mission/ campaign designers and not just completely give them the boot. It would make more sense, financially to allow them to supplement their work and make even better campaigns. Who knows, really? Certainly not me I’m just excited for it.

  31. Agreed and I would be happy to pay for it as well.... From ED's business perspective, a dynamic campaign could take away sales from OG campaigns, but that goes along with progress.

  32. Maybe some example screenshots would help, to give us an indication on the impact of the proposed poll options. (I also DM'd Specter about this) I expect for this poll there will be a big preference difference between fixed wing (mainly high altitude) and helo players.

  35. Is this a totally new thing? Because I've been looking for weeks! I thought for sure Google would have returned this result by now. Great find! And instructions for how to edit the lua files enclosed? Seems almost too good to be true. Long gone are the old days of having to make all this stuff yourself. It is pretty amazing watching the flight sim hobby/obsession finally taking off with all the panels and designs we have to choose from now. We're truly blessed to have all these kinds of things available. If a sim pilot wants to build an F/A-18C cockpit in the house, the biggest obstacle seems to be the significant other.

  36. TM is no better either. On the contrary, TM charge you an outrageous price for an inferior product with less functionality than WW ( I'm talking about the TM F-16 TQS that cost 550 USD compared to WW 330 ). Virpil / VKB also first ask you to open their devices for a self-diagnosis and replace broken components as well. And if you can't do that then you can ask them for a refund, only differences here is these 2 brands are well-established in the flight sim community & has a far older history in flight sim peripheral market than WW, has better logistic as both VKB / Virpil has warehouse in EUR & The US, and thus have better customer support. Meanwhile, WW still stuck with having people with poor grasp of English as their customer support & is still in the process of opening up a warehouse in US. Also, the leadership of VKB / Virpil are Westerner with an already good understanding of how business is conducted in the West, WW AFAIK is mostly Chinese owned and they have a different business culture there compared to the West Bottom line is, if you want to have a Hornet or F-15 or F-16 replica sim peripheral then Winwing is your only choice. TM F-16 throttle is pure garbage for its money, their joystick base can't be customized and overprice compared to what is currently in the market. Meanwhile, WW base can be adjusted with extra cam and spring. TM Warthog is known for <profanity>ty switches, and it took them a decade to replaced the TDC slew with a better one. Pick your poison

  44. One thing to add, Wags also mentioned that a Bomber like B52, B1 etc. will only come once the world map is here. Gonky replied, that flying a 5-6h or even longer mission might not be the right or fun thing to do but Wags added, that people also do it in MSFS and he believes they would do so here aswell. I believe, that Wags is wrong in his assumption, that people would like to do that. Some of course! But DCS is not the same as MSFS, and getting shot down by sam or intercepted, half way to your target after 3hr flight(or worst), is more then frustrating for most. Hell, most of MP is spawning at the nearest AF to the front just not to fly to long, but I guess in SP there´s a niche for it. We will see

  45. People using the paddle to override the G/aoa limit built into the hornet FBW to try and gain an advantage, when that would warp the wings and/or writeoff the airframe IRL. You're supposed to use it only if absolutely necessary (eg screaming down towards mother earth unexpectedly)

  47. So is having circuit breakers. And yet multiple DCS modules, as well as addons for other sims, implement those. Because the goal is simulation...
