The reply suggests that I wasn't clear, so let me be more specific about what I was wishing for. Right now I can display all file types, or just one file type, but I cannot filter to any subset in between those two extremes. That's what I'm looking for. Seems like coding this would be a trivial exercise. One approach would be to have a set of check boxes for desired file types instead of a drop down "choose one" list.5 points

While I'm a big fan of the User File section of the website, I wish Eagle Dynamics would make it easier to navigate. The big problem is that the user files are dominated by skins. For example, if you filter to files related to the hornet there are 2276 hits (as of a few minutes ago), but more than half of those are skins. Overall, as of this morning there were 21,076 items, and over half -- 12,126 -- are skins. That's more than 4 times the number of single missions, which is the next largest category. This makes it hard to find other content. When I search I'm not interested in skins typically, but would really like to know what else there is. I realize I can filter by Type, but if I want to see everything except skins that requires 12 separate searches for each of the other types that appear related to the Hornet. Some more flexible filtering would be very welcome.4 points

Особенно это стало заметно на наших последних картах. Мы подошли к моменту, когда потребовалось полностью пересмотреть подходы к процессингу объектов картографии и рендерингу в реальном времени. Мы поставили задачу создать гибкую и быструю систему, способную адаптироваться под любую сложность ландшафта на основе эффективной утилизации вычислительных возможностей большого количества ядер в современных процессорах видеокарт. Новые алгоритмы обработки картографии обеспечили достижение поставленных нами амбициозных целей в части: увеличения производительности при работе GPU повышения эффективности при управлении видеопамятью увеличения производительности алгоритмов задействующих CPU снижения нагрузки на CPU при передаче данных и увеличения скорости обмена данными между дисковой системой и видеопамятью Результаты тестирования показали заметный прирост производительности при обработке насыщенных сцен на различных системах и при разных настройках графики. For a while now I've felt like the mil power performance of the F-16 was a little low, though I chalked it up to the DCS version being Blk 50 as the GE engines favor AB over dry thrust. However I did finally get around to do some testing and it looks like there is a lack of thrust/overprediction in fuel flow even taking into account the F110's. I have tracks attached, though due to forum rules I am not posting the source info. I can send it via message. Summary of the issue: Testing at DI 102 at 34015 lbs weight to compare to data at DI 100 at 34000 lbs weight DCS shows increased Delta between speeds when accelerating under full mil power. This not only impacts acceleration, but climb and cruise, so the F-16 has a harder time getting to optimum altitude and uses too much fuel when cruising. DCS fuel burn at 510 knots is approximately 4200 PPH while the actual value should be just under 3900 PPH. Ideally some more testing is needed to see if this is more of an engine issue or drag issue, and it should be tested at more speeds, altitudes, and weights, but the condition that I did test is an important one as it's relevant to the F-16 in a CAP role. Then I would like to demand at least helmet visors like the real helmets have etc... I will never get this whole debate about super realism with no options to choose from but the maximum real stuff. In the end DCS will always be just a game that simulates aircraft very well and nothing more. If your goal is just maximum realism then I would suggest you better apply to an airforce to get into the real thing ...3 points

This particular thread has run its cause in the first post. Everything else is just chit chat and banter and creating even more hype - which is its purpose in the first place. I get your point, and usually would agree, but I think the criticism is misplaced in this particular thread. Maybe I‘m wrong though…. I‘ll shut my trap.3 points

Erste Frage: Sitze gerade nicht im Cockpit um zu testen, was Du meinst, ist aber eigentlich grundsätzlich bei allen Tail-Rotor Choppern so. Einmal wirkst Du gegen den Hauptrotor und einmal mit ihm. Zweite Frage: Der Trick ist eigentlich bei allen Helos derselbe. Du musst wissen, welche Cyclic-Position Du für ein stationäres Hovern einnehmen musst (variiert ein wenig mit Gewicht und Wind - gehen wir für den Anfang mal von Windstille aus). Für die Gazelle ist das ca. 0,5 cm links und 0,3-0,5 cm unten (controls input overlay). Wenn Du diese Cyclic-Position einnimmst bevor(!) Du am Collective ziehst, hebst Du eigenlich sauber senkrecht ab. Natürlich gilt immer: Langsam! und kontinuierlich die Eingaben anpassen und Fehlentwicklungen im Keim ersticken. Aber nicht überreagieren!3 points

Hi, Looking for the cause behind the takeoff/landing issues noted after the FM update, I think that I have found an issue with the new FCS code. It looks like the transition to WOW mode, at least in pitch command, is not happening, or that WOW mode logic has been changed to a wrong one. According to documentation, for stabilator command in WOW operation, aircraft sensor feedbacks are set to fixed values or do not exist. This was how it seemed to work in DCS prior to the FM update, but now it seems to receive the same feedbacks than in "Not auto flaps up operation". I did the following tests: - taxi.trk: noted that the stabilator reacts to changes in pitch rate/aoa while taxiing (like it would on a viper, but should not in a hornet, as seen in any YT video) - takeoff_12.trk: take off with 12º ANU stabilator. Rotation speed for this configuration is about 145kt. At approximately 100 knots the FCS starts commanding ANU stabilator, as in seeking to capture an AOA. The aircraft lifts off by itself. FCS reverses the ANU stabilator command and captures 6º AOA. - takeoff_16.trk: take off with 16º ANU stabilator. Same observations than above, just the FCS captures 10º AOA. - landing.trk: notice that immediately after touchdown, the FCS commands 24º ANU trying to recapture the trimmed AOA and holds it throughout the landing rollout until the speed reduces to near zero. It seems that the FCS logic after the update disregards WOW mode and just remains in "Not auto flaps up operation" logic, trying to capture the command trim AOA. This explains all the weird things observed after the update, such as: - Aircraft taking off by itself prior to rotation speed (due to FCS commanding unrequested ANU stabilator) - Nose strut staying extended after nose gear touchdown (due to FCS commanding 24º ANU stabilator on touchdown) - Possibly also explains the uncontrolled pitch up issues that people have reported if taking off with flaps auto The correct behavior would be as documented in the WOW operation description (and as it seemed to work prior to the update) Aside from the quoted documentation reference to "WOW operation" logic, I link below the following videos: - Taxi out (little-to-nil stabilator motion) - Landing (no such thing as sudden command of permanent 24º ANU on touchdown. - Another example (notice that the pilot commands aft stick later on during the rollout to aid in braking, but there is no such thing as a FCS 24º ANU command on touchdown) This was working well before the update, so it must be an issue with the new code and WOW logic. Well, I get your drift - but there are threads that are serious inquiries for information (and should be treated as such and not be derailed)…. and then there are things that just are running jokes. Like the definition of winter. Can we agree on that? Also, I would argue that navigating any public forum without a sense (or least some tolerance) for humor is bound to be frustrating….2 points

Speaking of tracks. I'm slowly changing my opinion on accuracy of track replays. Since the recent updates I haven't noticed any discrepancies in my replays, including some crazy missions with lots of maneuvering... well, I'm talking single player here. I'm aware of some complaints in MP sessions. As long as I don't get too carried away with changing the replay speed.2 points

Without a log it's impossible to help, ED is also making some major changes to the weapon systems that is creating several conflicts with mods, thus we are waiting for the next patch before implementing a fix2 points

Thanks everyone. I'm happy to report that the new Mongoost CM3 base kept the exact same button numbers as the WarBRD base did, so in DCS I just had to map one random bind to the new base, take the .lua name generated for it in the options and simply rename the .lua files that belonged to the WarBRD with the new MongoosT name and ID. All key binds fell perfectly into place.2 points

Those things can be used, but they have their own problems. This has been requested before. One of the options is a maintenance setting for aircraft. So we could choose say 100% (factor fresh) or 0% (plane is on its last legs). The former would give max performance, the latter would see reduced engine thrust and increased drag, reduced g limit, reduced radar range (maybe avionics, engine, etc could have their own settings). I think it's a good option, I just don't know how hard it would be to add to DCS while being realistic. Though to be honest when concerning the AI, a simple model would probably work.2 points

IMHO it must read " Doppler system setting LAND / SJÖ (Land / Sea)" instead of "Radar altimeter setting LAND / SJÖ (Land / Sea)" Radar altimeter has two receiver antennas on the fuselage, where the Doppler system has its single antennae (but with 3 lobes) on the lower right wing.2 points

OnRetech continue working on the next update, and remember 3rd parties has none control on the release. ED need aproval by QA teams them before release on a patch, and ORT has no work on a little patch, has working on a big update.2 points

I'd really enjoy the ability to climb down the aircraft. When I land after a successful mission, do all the shutdown procedure and I remain in the dark cockpit with the engines off; I'd love to be able to get down and stand beside my plane. It's a stupid detail really, but I'd really like the idea.2 points

Your expectations are not set correctly. It’s not that they are speaking to you in any way, it’s that you just don’t like the answer! Sorry but Early Access just means you get to see and play with it before its bugs are worked out. It’s part of the excitement of seeing something Early. It has flaws and things will need to be fixed etc.. There NO agreement that updates need to be made or monthly updates will be made. Just have patients and go with the process. Life is way too short to worry about this stuff! If this is stressful or you don’t like the process than don’t do it! Pretty simple! Cfrag, Well said and a perfect explanation of what Early Access is. I agree with this and people need to reset their expectations of what EA is.2 points

We don't need a monthly update - we need an update! We all okay with early access, and we all know it is not finish - but no update for 9 months since EA-Release? We saw all the pictures of new buildings, the upcoming airfields, the identification of bugs in the thread, the update on the roadmap... All this is fine, but without any fix in DCS - how could we promote this map to other player? 9 months no changes!2 points

Who ever said “Fast Turnaround”? I don’t remember reading or hearing that before. I’m not sure what is so broken or so bad that you need this map updated so badly? I don’t really have any problems running this at all. Granted my systems a beast but it even runs on my MSI Gaming laptop without any problems. I really don’t expect ORT to respond to this forum very often. I’m sure they know the issues , though I don’t, and are working on it. We aren’t privy to the way they do business or whats being discussed between ORT & ED. Who knows? I have seen them respond here on other topics so I know they check this forum. I thought there was a patch that had some updates on the Sinai map, not 100% sure though. I have gotten responses from them on Instagram and they repost a lot of my video shorts etc on their story or Instagram account which I’m thankful. I have never asked about dates or when the new items will be available since I’m not too worried about it. I fly this map all the time single play and multiplayer with friends on our own servers. There isn’t anything glaring at me that needs fixing or anything preventing me from using it. Sure I’d love to see some new parts of the map and airports etc but I have too many other things to worry about than when ORT is going to patch the map or when something is going to release. I’m a very laid back person & lots of patience so I’ll stand by to stand by as we used to say.2 points

This command is outside of the George interface, just like Consent to Fire. You don't need to open the AI interface to command him to store his current target, nor is it required to command him to designate the target. He can store a target location any time he is tracking a target, and will automatically designate the target to get a laser range if he isn't already lasing. You can even command him to store multiple targets while the AI Target List is displayed. As he slews the TADS to each target as you scroll through the his Target List, wait for his TADS to settle onto his target and then command him to store that target. Then scroll to the next target, and so on.2 points

Isn't DCS World a huge sandbox? And I, when I was a kid, used to sit in the sand and play with the toys that I got. Ten percent were in my hand and ninety percent happended in my imagination. So if there's a Phantom in DCS World and it's as close as possible to the real Weasel... well, I'll take it! This has nothing to do with false promises or even malicious advertising fraud.2 points
