  2. Because not a single day goes by when I don't get messaged on Discord by someone who can't read basic instructions and they fail to install it properly. It's really annoying and the installer ensures it is put in the correct location. It also places the script for the door gunners in the correct location too. Lastly, it checks and shows you the update changelog so you can just run the installer and know if there is a new version and update. And I can just keep uploading regular small fixes when I can, without having to publish and announce lots of new versions. I think it is much simpler for everyone involved. I know it maybe conflicts with people who use mod managers, but I think on the whole that is a minority of players and the benefits are worth it.

  3. Hi ED, There is an issue with one of your 3rd party. As you may know, Polychop's Dev team have all quit the company leaving only the CEO. For some time now the CEO is not even answering on his discord and there is more and more unresolved bugs on the SA342 Gazelle and some on the OH58D Kiowa. The bugs vary from missing textures (on dipole antenna), wrong axis, keybindings issues, multicrew desynch and bugs, kneebord mixed up and more. Those bugs were reported from month or years, but nothing is done... For example here is some non revolved bugs : Reported on July 2 2023 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/329727-tm-warthog-throttle-mouse-axis-problem-on-tv/ Reported on June 8, 2023 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/327589-pedal-trim-not-working-propertly/ Reported on July 20, 2024 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/354334-multicrew-issue-pilot-and-copilot-affects-night-vision-google-employment/#comment-5672503 Reported on July 20, 2024 :--https://forum.dcs.world/topic/354333-multicrew-issue-with-nadir-even-when-copilot-leaving-the-gazelle-and-rejoin-entering-and-editing-waypoints-not-working/ Reported on september 14, 2024 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/357716-the-windscreen-wipers-do-not-wipe-when-you-press-the-pilot-wiper-button-on-the-stick/ Reported on september 14, 2024 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/357715-floating-metal-clip/ Reported on april 2, 2025 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/371479-i-love-the-gazelle-but-continuing-to-be-patient-for-a-joystick-slew-fix-for-the-minigun-variant-unable-to-point-minigun-to-the-front-of-aircraft-also-unable-to-point-fully-up-and-down/#comment-5654828Reported on June 27, 2025 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/375569-pilot-position-windshield-wiper-clickable-cockpit-switch-issue-as-of-291711733/ Reported on August 5, 2025 : --https://forum.dcs.world/topic/377214-multi-player-seat-switch-issue/ Of course there is more bugs than those mentionned here, it's just to show that some bugs are here since years ago. Now, what can ED do ? Well 3rd party have to maintain their products (which is not the case for Polychop Simulation). I expect mesures to be taken by ED toward Polychop to remedy this bad situation If this is not enough, maybe the Gazelle IP could end up in someone else hands, someone who will actually take care about this module, either ED or an other 3rd party. Thank you, Peet

  5. The release of videos does not necessarily coincide with the release of the module and would not hold up the release; Wags often releases videos after the module is released. There should be a new video this week.

  6. Hello everyone, this is Shaft, from Myself Dynamic! As an active participant in the gazelle community, a day one fan of this historical module (one of the first 3rd party module) in DCS, and a livery creator for Polychop, I must say I'm 100% with what was written by @peeter It is not because the gazelle is a "niche" module that Polcyhop can act like if it doesn't matter, and we really need to get people at ED involved in this. There are guidelines, rules, commitment toward costumers, and some basic criteria are just not met by Polychop right now. We know for sure that not a single resource is dedicated to the gazelle, and this is a reality for over a year and a half almost.. There is a long list of easy fix that is just lying there and no one cares about it... Please, someone have to make it right. For the sake of the gazelle, and the credibility of both Polychop (and by them, ED...) Take care all

  7. FLY TOGETHER is a new format in which you can follow the entire mission as a movie, including comments from the developer. This is not only intended to provide insight into the missions and their structure, and in particular the ‘fun factor’, but also to illustrate how much you can potentially learn, not only to master the aircraft and its systems, but also to behave like a pilot. What should you pay attention to? Why is it better to do it this way and not another? You will find answers to these and other questions here. You are also welcome to ask questions or share your opinion with us.

UI Added Search bar to Loadout and Livery lists in Rearming and Dynamic slots menu with the ability to search by name Added livery selection to encyclopedia with ability to seamlessly reload livery (will help livery creators to check changes made to the livery, without restarting DCS) WIP we will look for feedback. A more detailed tool for viewing models inside DCS is planned. Added Search bar to Dynamic spawn menu with the ability to search for a unit by name Removed old versions of in-game manuals from interface. Huey has "manual" in options - Bugs and Problems - ED Forums. Controls Mapping interface conflict tooltips do not show proper information - fixed Added new system options for mirrors resolution and sequential rendering Dynamic slots interface rope length for helicopters is not inherited from template group - fixed Weapons Introduced advanced model for R-27 missile family. Missiles got new CFD-based flight model, authentic control system that includes wing actuator model, altitude band-switching autopilot, Kalman-type guidance filters (different for IR and RF versions) which also drive seeker gimbal mechanics, INS and datalink system with realistic inaccuracies (for RF missile only), and RF or IR seeker. New semiactive RF seeker provides 'multitarget' tracking feature. This means that RF signals from several distinct targets will interfere and form one bigger apparent target once they simultaneously fall into the missile tracking gate. This apparent target may lead the missile between real targets in a target group, or to dispensed chaff. It also may steal missile velocity tracking gate and break guidance. R-27 proximity fuze now has a conical antennas pattern and variable explosion command delay to adjust for target size and closure rate. And, in addition, missiles got number of limitations caused by control systems design. For example RF missile can not be launched with roll angle exceeding 120 degrees because of gimbaled INS roll limit. Added Mk-83AIR GP HD bomb Added laser PRF code adjustment option for GBU-54 Fixed phantom bomb instances being frozen on impact instead of penetrating whatever they collided with Added fuze options for Soviet bombs and dispensers (BetABs, FABs, OFABs and RBKs). Adjusted BetAB, FAB and OFAB warhead parameters Added fuze options for Chinese bombs (250-2 and 250-3) Fixed phantom LGB instances trajectory desynchronization when using non-default laser PRF code Corrected available fuze variant sets for US HTP and non-HTP bombs Mk-20/CBU-99. Improved bombsight accuracy. Please note that using FMU-140 in low-altitude horizontal flight bombing runs will lead to poor accuracy - in these cases Mk 339 fuze must be used. FMU-140 should provide acceptable accuracy in dive bombing runs and, in specific conditions, in horizontal flight bombing runs (function altitude set to ca. 1/3 of release altitude and specific airspeed at release, e.g. function altitude - 3 kft, release altitude - 10 kft, TAS - 580 kts) Mk-20/CBU-99. Fixed Mk 339 fuze function delay being counted down after arming instead of after release BL755. Added fuze function delay options GMLRS. Added animation of rotation of the tail stabilizers block BetAB-500ShP. Improved bombsight accuracy in normal release conditions (release at 500 m altitude) Fixed non-detonation of bombs in certain conditions Fixed IRIS-T missiles constantly switching between command and IR guidance, which caused them to miss. Terrain Engine Tuned lazy loading of 3D models. We already had asynchronous loading in place, and this update adds complementary optimizations to ensure only the models needed in the current situation are loaded. This should slightly improve loading times in both the Mission Editor and mission startup. Voice chat Fixed. Crash on exiting from DCS when the “Pending request” window is open. Launcher Added. Help page with access to FAQ, User support, myReach AI helper, etc. DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum by Eagle Dynamics First week patch updates: The animations for the cannon trigger and the missile trigger to be swapped. Provide lower resolution textures cockpit option CHAFF/FLARE sequence corrections. When repairing after a wheels up landing, the repair completes, but the landing gear is not lowered, so after repair you are dropped back on your belly, negating the repair. IFF issues for clients connected to the mission hosted on a dedicated server. Single Player or Self-hosted servers do not have this issue. Controls Indicator overlay (RCTRL+ENTER) missing 3D model damage WIP (first iteration) Additional English HUD/HDD version (fictional for convenience) Known issues to be patched: Autopilot-induced oscillations, mostly visual on stick, no effect on flight path below 600 KpH Landing/taxi lights issues - the light from penetrates into the model. Brake chute is not visible for other clients in multiplayer, physics working correctly When using FCR, missile launch is not blocked in the absence of a LA signal on the HUD/HDD. Ejection sequence and animation improvements. Cannon muzzle flash improvement Ejected cartridge animation The logic of the CAJ (Compensation Active Jammer) switch is not implemented when working with jamming. 9. This is a Garmin GNS-530 radio/gps @Hayds_93 and I have been working on for literally no reason other than I like it and I make him work on it. Right now we have it in a stupid little general aviation sfm mod that will never see the light of day. We share these pics around the mod developers discord server, but thought it would be fun to show it off a little here. I know theres a few mods out there (probably not on this forum yet) that could definitely use a GNS-530. The eventual goal is to get this as a modular as possible so all the mod maker need is to drop the files in do a little linkage and add the 3d model. Yes i know ED's 430 exist, and I was surprised to hear they are still supporting it for the Mig29 it some capacity, but I plan for this to be a little more accurate than it. We also have AIRAC waypoints from Navigraph, unfortunately the database they provide for development isn't in any DCS map, but all the fixes youd expect to find in Central America/carribean are here there.

  12. Dear @NineLine, could you give some information about this topic? I don´t own Gazelle or Kiowa but I am getting quite concerned about investing my money in 3. party modules seeing them dropping like flies. # StrikeEagle

  18. Check out their section in the forums they're currently shooting for the October update and are confident in it, any push to November would be due to reasons beyond their control. Someone (their CEO) said October is the goal, November worst case.

  21. Not sure if its been mentioned here but on the discord we've kinda talked about it a bit publicly: we are finalizing an AI release so that we can get it out into mission maker hands

  22. Hello, In spite that many systems are not fully modeled, I found that it was possible to edit a fairly complete Cold Start training mission, like this: If you want to try the mission yourself (requires the Modern Marianas Map), here is a download link: F-104C - Training - M01 Cold Start (by Rudel_chw).miz I will next edit a Taxi & Take-Off follow up mission, and then a VFR landing one, to get a proper training set. If you find a bug with the mission, please let me know here and I will do my best to fix it.

  23. I finally got around to flying it and having some fun. Thanks for another great upgrade (after all this time!). It's really nice to return to the UH-60L after all this time and see such cool changes. The crew (though quite mysterious ;)) looks really good now (at least Kiowa level), and is also visible in VR. It's also visible externally. Also, the rotor animation is finally very good, along with the blur effect, but I actually like this effect and it's great that it was improved. As for the interior, I only feel (and this is more noticeable in VR) that the Collective grip itself is too large. I have a copy of the Virpil, and the head itself isn't as large as the model's in relation to the hand. I feel the scale here is too large. Generally, the grip head protrudes only slightly beyond the palm and fingers when held. And if it would be possible to slightly improve the modeling of the door from the inside and a better texture here: But it's still great work! I also really like the new interior window effect; it gives a better perspective and you can see the reflections, which shows that we have something there (and with some mods I always get the impression that there are frames without windows). Congratulations! I'm looking forward to playing with the UH-60L more, although I'm waiting for the MiG-29A.

  28. from the instructions: "I have uploaded a backup archive of the mod to the same location. Simply extract it to your Saved Games/DCS folder." because there is people that still places user mods within the DCS folder itself?

  30. On September 12, 1988, a group of MiG-23MLD from the 120th Fighter Aviation Regiment took off to strike targets in the Kunar River valley east of Asadabad. The Pakistanis were showing increasing activity, and the pilots repeatedly reported "visual contact" with F-16s escorting the strike groups from their side. The tension was literally hanging in the air, which erupted that day into an open clash. Gathering over a prominent landmark (Surubi Lake), the group headed toward the border. Two pairs of cover had gone ahead there in advance: the targets were right at the border strip, which is why two pairs of cover were assigned. Over the mountain range 50 km northwest of the attack site, the patrol zone was occupied by fighters of the commander, Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Bunin, and his political officer, Major Nikolay Golosienko, while Major Semyon Petkov and Senior Lieutenant Vladimir Danchenkov were located 40 km to the south. However, the F-16s, attracted by their appearance, were already in the air: from the Kamra base, a pair of fighters led by Lieutenant Khalid Mahmud from the 14th Squadron of the Pakistan Air Force took off, following the MiGs on a parallel course. Within minutes, they were informed from the ground that a column of aircraft had appeared in the air — a strike group was approaching the target. Over Kunar, it turned north, taking a combat course along the border. When the strike group formed a column to approach the target, it was only a few kilometers from the border, which the enemy took advantage of. The cover had gone quite far, and nothing prevented Khalid from reaching the middle of the stretched-out target. The closest to him was a MiG-23MLD (board number 55) of Captain Sergey Privalov, the outermost in the bearing of the second flight. Emerging 13 km from him out of thick clouds, Khalid heard his radiation warning station beep: the MiGs loitering a few minutes away were turning toward him. This was not part of the Pakistani pilot's plan. He began to maneuver, hastily firing two AIM-9L missiles from a half-roll with a 135° bank and exited the fight upside down 1500 m from the attacked MiGs. One missile went far off to the side, but the second Sidewinder exploded over Privalov's plane, showering it with fragments. The shock was severe; the pilot felt a strong impact, even his feet were knocked off the pedals. A large fragment entered the rear cockpit compartment half a meter from his head, the others slashed the flap and left wing panel, piercing the fuel tank box. A whitish trail of fuel trailed behind the plane, but after the initial shock, the pilot confirmed the plane was not on fire, remained airborne, and responded to controls. Both pairs of cover rushed to the scene at full afterburner, and shouts and curses rose on the radio. The Pakistani pilot faced serious trouble — the firing range of the R-24R missiles was enough to hit him even before the border, and on the ground, someone even shouted: "Let me shoot him down!" However, the score could not be evened — the command post ordered everyone to urgently withdraw, fearing a fight over a remote area where the situation was unfavorable: the enemy could bring in new forces, and the MiGs had limited fuel reserves. The Pakistanis had all the advantages here, from numerical superiority to tactical situation, and an open clash with a neighboring state on the eve of the long-awaited ceasefire was undesirable. After dropping bombs, Privalov turned homeward, followed by the rest of the group. Bunin and Golosienko closed the formation, and then a pair of F-16s appeared again from behind. The Pakistanis followed, intending to shoot down the MiGs in pursuit, but they could not catch up: setting their wings to maximum sweep, they accelerated to the speed of sound on afterburner (although with an external tank there was a limit of M=0.8). Approaching Bagram, the damaged MiG was allowed to go ahead to land first. It had almost no fuel left: judging by the fuel gauge, the plane had already lost 1200 liters of kerosene. Leaving a wet trail on the concrete, the fighter taxied to the parking area, where the leak stopped immediately after the engine was shut down — the fuel was gone. Petkov, who landed next, got out of the plane and angrily slammed his helmet on the concrete: "Damn them..! I had that bastard in my sights!". Source: "The Hot Sky of Afghanistan" Viktor Markovsky

  33. Yes DCS and everything else looks fantastic on an OLED. I gotta say DCS is rather dated and doesn’t exploit what a screen like this can really do like HDR but it’s still the best this game can look. I was curious about burn-in too but there are pixel shifting and cleaning feature which seem to negate this. I use mine for working at home full time as well as gaming and haven’t seen any sort of damage from three years of continual use.

  34. This entirely. The fact that the next step up is honestly something like a Pimax Crystal Super says a lot. A DP headset with dynamic foveated rendering, a wide field of view and acceptable sharpness for the money is a great deal, and makes the PSVR2 a good choice for people who want to enjoy VR in DCS and don’t feel prepared to drop large amounts of money just yet. As PS5 users get sick of the lack of new content it might lead to some good used deals as well. The QP is a good option for some other aspects. It undoubtably provides a somewhat sharper cockpit (the full RGB stripe display means that while the resolution is slightly lower each pixel has independent sub pixels unlike the pentile arrangement) at equivalent resolutions to the PSVR2, however the trade off is that with compression you get less detail in the distance and compression artefacts. The more you increase the bitrate, use encoding like HEVC 10bit or double pass encoding the more overhead there is and the less the benefit of being able to get away with less supersampling helps. I also find the eye tracking more accurate in the PSVR2, in the QP I will frequently look into the region that is low resolution before it catches up, that basically never happens in the PSVR2. Ultimately I think before the introduction of DFR the PSVR2 was a tough ask for DCS. You needed to pump so many pixels that it was tough to run without making major sacrifices. Now with combining DFR and DLSS with the transformer model the performance to run 90fps+ at high supersampled resolutions is there for those with high end systems.

  35. I haven't checked your trackfile, but I suspect you have your radiator flaps fully open (hot starts begin with them in this position), so as you fly your engine quickly cools below minimum operating temperature, gets damaged and seizes. This ties in with you saying the flight was in freezing conditions. The Anton is extremely difficult to overheat, so suggest you fully close the radiator flaps (detailed in part 7 of Chucks guide here: https://chucksguides.com/aircraft/dcs/fw190-a8/ ). I only ever open them on hot maps, and then only by one turn of the handle. Hope this helps and hope you're enjoying the Anton - it's my favourite DCS warbird

  36. Hello everyone, The 2.0 update for the UH-60L Black Hawk mod is now available on Patreon to all: https://www.patreon.com/posts/uh60l-mod-2-0-138859868 Please read the instructions in the post carefully! I will be updating the Discord server to include a bug tracking section for any issues encountered. Please note the ED forums are not a helpful place to report issues regarding the mod; issues tend to get lost in the noise. I hope you all enjoy the update.

  39. Sure, you should do the same with F-16, F-18 and so on, with metric sytem, because imperial system is so .... well, obsolete, outdated, it would be more confortable for me, but for now i try to avoid all planes with imperial system.

  40. HDMI 120HZ That's a little downside to using a TV. The panel is the same or even better, but you lack some of the monitor specific features, like DP or auto-off with PC shuttdown. A Trade-Off that is worth it for me, but perhaps not for everyone. My recommendation would be to buy an decent OLED TV from last season or even the season before for a huge discount. Just make sure you have at least HDMI 2.1 120Hz and G-sync-compatibility.

  44. Well I am certainly happy to make an update video on the new version when it comes. I asked above regarding a timeframe for v1.2 release and heard no response so didn't see any point in putting off making a video about the current version since I don't know if we need to wait 2 weeks or 2 years.
