SimShaker for DCS World Sound Mode Expansion - Discussion
Kuky replied to =Andre='s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Andre, I have attached Debug Info just after I tried again public DCS with MiG-29A. I can see some stuff in Info window, but I don't get any effects through Buttkicker. I know it must be something simple I am missing but I don't know what. :noexpression: I hope you can make sense of what's in this Debug Info screenshot -

Where is SimShaker.lua file supposed to be located? Is there some guide to describe step by step how to get this all installed and working? -

SimShaker for DCS World Sound Mode Expansion - Discussion

Not a problem I mean, when I open SimShaker for DCS World, in Planes FC3 or Helicopter tab, on right hand side there is a row labeled "Gain Level, %" and most effects are set to 0 / middle value. So I was asking, does this 0% value produce sound already and is this default volume value and do we need to increase it to more than 0 in order to get the effect? Yes, I can see activity there, I'm gonna try get that export lua enabled (I never used it so I'm still a noob there) then try again. Thanks for your feedback. -

Yes I have. I got the test sound to work now, I changed the RCA connector on the Buttkicker from red to white (meaning from right to left channel), and now it works (test sound that is). But I still don't get any effects in Buttkicker in DCS (I tried both tester and public version) OK One question: Is GAIN % at 0 default sound level and I don't have to increase it? EDIT: I get a feeling I am supposed to enable lua export (which I haven't done). Maybe that's why it doesn't work in DCS? -

I've installed the SimShaker for DCS and SimShaker Sound Module. I have connected my buttkicker to secondary sound card (ASUS Xonar DX) and DCS is using default sound card (Creative SB X-Fi). I can't get any sound in Buttkicker. I have tried connecting it to Sub/Center output, and main speaker output. When I have headphones connected to front channel output, I can hear the test sound on left channel, but I don't get anything on buttkicker. I might be doing something wrong and if yes, I have no idea what. By the way, while having headphones connected to front channel, and sellecting 2 Transducers Number option to test sound play, I still hear the test sound only on left channel... nothing on right (but should be on both, right?) -

That I don't know, currently my buttkicker is connected to same sound card that I use for in-game sound (I bought recently secondary sound card for headset/voice-comms. Note I had no luck running 2 creative sound cards at the same time, system would only allow running one at the time, most likely as they use same sound card driver. Running 2 different brands like creative and Asus and no problems) -

Hi Andre, is using sub woofer channel also considered as Mono mode? I run Buttkicker LFE connected to Center/Woofer port on the sound card. -
My order has been shipped :) Now just need to wait

wow.... that is just insane :noexpression:

Kickstarter for Warthog add-on sticks?
Kuky replied to Schnittertm's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Although I would really love to get MiG-29 stick, I don't feel confident about this one because, as already mentioned, there is zero work shown to be done for it so far, everything is just words and I don't see single "...we have done / completed / started..." in there. Everything is "planned", even the machines are not available to them (as they say they want to use the money from this Kickstarter for their purchase). So I can't back this up. I think they should invest their money first (by the machines etc) and make it happen (as prototype) and show people that it actually works and exists... then I would feel confident to give them a chance and donate. -
That seat is gold! I am scared to ask if you were to make one to sell it and ship to Australia, roughly how much it would be?

Hiding in the mountains won't be good tactics IF mission was set to have your fighters do CAP or Fighter Sweep in certain areas. If you have your friendly ground units all taken out because you were not there to protect them... in real life you would be as good as dead when you came to land :D Sadly in sim this is not the case as there is no particular goal set, other than take off and get as many kills as you can.
-
But having "memory" doesn't mean you are actually seeing the target, it merely will show where it would be expected to be if he maintained its heading (which doesn't normally happen). Also same difficulty is with Su-27 radar, when really close and you don't know exactly where he is, you only know approximation, because he's so close it's pretty much impossible to reacquire him... and if you keep looking at radar instead of trying to get visual, and he sees you, you are pretty much dead.

Likely that those are of more modern Su-27 version (not the one we have in game)
-
For me S-24 rockets are most effective against tanks. For everything else, S-5 rockets do good damage.
-
Answer is Yes. When in search mode, you set which way the radar should scan. But once you lock the target, the radar will move up to its limits (60° left and right)

May be a brakethrough in overclocking for you
Kuky replied to Bucic's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It is not worth it if the CPU is not the bottle neck in the system (and most games are GPU limited), so in those cases it doesn't matter if you overclock the CPU. -
You would never ever try this in real life. If you did and made it... you'd be out of the air force in no time... and if you didn't make it, you'd be dead. Also to me looks like engines scrapped the runway so you need to try again a clean landing :D

Kuky replied to Bucic's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not a recommended thing to do, because once your PC does have to do some high CPU utilization work, it'll start making errors, crashing, lock up etc. You want to avoid that. If you don't care about that, then by all means go ahead and overclock more. -
The F-14 is such a good looking aircraft and you guys are making it well.

Well I think if you want to see some interest you need to talk some prices (what you would want for it). I have bought 2 HOTAS Cougar (one when it just came out, then second few years back - for spares... in case) and modded it to suit my preference ( and I still use the FOXY to program it). I am not likely to get it (as I have good HOTAS already) so if you really want to sell it, give some price for others to base their opinions on weather to buy/consider it or not.
