  1. It's fun but I hope ED can improve the ground AI.
  2. Since I got the Apache, I was mistaken that only the CPG could fire laser hellfires. Thanks to this post I just fired (as pilot) several hellfires successfully at targets lased by the AI CPG. What have I been missing! LoL
  3. I thought ‘splash damage’ was already improved in DCS, I could be mistaken though. Or maybe it’s partially fixed. There was a splash damage mod some time ago and Liberation has a splash damage option.
  4. They are probably using a screen capture/streaming utility such as Bandicam rather than the saved tracks which aren’t always reliable.
  5. ‘Reproduced’ only if I press slave. The FCR Scan size switch doesn’t affect it (not that it would). But I am not really reproducing the strange behaviour you report since pressing the slave button is suppose to do exactly that. So it seems something is pressing the Slave button even though you are not, as you say. But it’s strange your RHG FCR Scan switch was moving at that precise moment too. Have you tried an online repair?
  6. I recorded your track so it was easier to play back in slow motion at the moment the TADS LOS jumped (got slaved). It's very strange. Staring at the animation, your RHG FCR Scan Size hat actually moved down-left and your RHG slave button was depressed at the same time. I took control, lased and moved the Scan Size hat but it didn't cause that issue until I hit slave. Hmm.. Does this happen with other ACQs? Try remapping Slave to another button and test again?
  7. Not at my DCS PC now but just to check... a) Did you widen the Hotas column at the Slave command to be sure no other button was programmed in accidentally? b) Just curious what ACQ were you in whenever you hit slave to find your targets? WP? TG? GHS? c) What did you bind RHG Manual Track (TADS slew) to if not the axes?
  8. Watched your track. Your lasing was fine. When you hit Slave, it slaved the TADS to your ACQ source which was set as FXD (Fixed - Boresight). So the TADS LOS 'flew' immediately to Boresight (usually the sky, depending on where your aircraft is pointing). FXD is usually the default ACQ. If you are in TADS as Sight, you could change your ACQ to say GHS (CPG HMD), a Target Point (TG) or Waypoint (WP). Pressing the Slave button immediately moves the TADS LOS to whatever ACQ (look for the dotted cross) you have selected. If you stay in FXD, don't slave since in the track you already have the target in your TADS crosshairs. Just lase and fire. ACQ is just a reference point to cue you to where to look, to where your target is at. For example, if your targets are smack at WP2, set your ACQ to WP2. Hit Slave and the TADS LOS will redirect to WP2. Then hit Slave again to UNSLAVE so that you can use the RHG Manual Tracker to slew and refine the TADS crosshairs onto the exact desired target. (If you don't unslave, your TADS LOS will be stuck at the WP2 spot, ie. it is still slaved and you will not be able to slew the TADS crosshairs). Then lase and fire. Of course, the target has to be within your TADS FOV limits and weapon launch parameters. If say using GHS as ACQ, look at your target and hit slave. Your TADS LOS will be directed to what you are looking at. Then unslave and you can look at your TADS display and refine as above (you can turn off IHADSS so it's not in the way when you are looking at the display). Or, you could continue to just look at the picture in your IHADSS since it has a zoomable/slewable overlay of what the TADS sees. That may be a bit disorienting though since you'll have to distinguish between what you are looking at with your physical eye (the target or landscape) and what is being projected from the TADS view which could be zoomed in. But you can adjust the contrast/FLIR levels so it's more distinguishable. Hope this helps.
  9. As CPG, press C to gain control of cyclic to take over flying.
  10. I see, the missing FCR in the puzzle. Perhaps they could have removed TADS as an ACQ option when in C-HMD sight. Thanks anyway.
  11. I think you were too focused on thinking I wanted TADS as sight whenever I mentioned slewing. Anyway, with that cleared up, I wouldn’t say it’s a completely useless or illogical scenario to have a slewable TADS ACQ. May not be military procedure but it could still find a use. So then, how would one use TADS as ACQ if all it could do under those conditions (CHMD as sight) was to zoom at the sky or whatever last and possibly irrelevant LOS? I mean why even include it as an option?
  12. Thanks for the clarification. I tried multiple slots on Nevada map but could not find any Blue helos when I open the mission in ME. Did I miss a step? For the filters, was thinking shouldn't it be that when you check SP only, all missions should still show up since all of them currently work in SP as you have said? Then when SP-only mission are available, checking COOP or MP without checking SP, would result in the SP-only missions being unavailable. Otherwise, if a player checked only SP, he would miss out on all the other missions that can also work in SP.
  13. If the RHG man track can only slew the TADS/FCR, then fine. It's just they way they made it. That was all I needed to answer my question actually. Yes obviously. I was in C/HMD as sight and TADS as ACQ just to be clear. Who's talking about slaving the TADS to the TADS LOS? But imagine this - I am on C/HMD as sight and TADS as ACQ. If I could only slew the TADS, I could zoom in and SLEW (not slave!) it onto a target. Then I move in on that target with guns. But I need a reference on my C/HMD. I hit slave and the CUE DOTS point me to the target/dotted cross for my guns to take out. Anything wrong with this hypothetical picture?
  14. Why would I want or need it to do that? Technically, it could have allowed me to slew the TADS to a target and the HDU cue dots then point me where to look when I hit slave, just saying. That is actually what happens if I go about it with TADS as sight first. Also, why let the CPG have TADS as an ACQ option if you are not going to let him use/slew it?
  15. Looks like you can’t read. I said slew not slave. And I understand perfectly.
  16. My guess is your ACQ became FXD (fixed or bore in plane lingo). As others have said, Sight and ACQ are separate; they can be swapped but cannot be the same. Not the best analogy but to simplify, think of a sniper aiming at a target standing next to a lamp post. The rifle scope is the Sight (aim the weapon) and the lamp post is the ACQ (reference as to where to look for the target). The Sight and ACQ are slewable. The Slave button can direct the Sight to follow the ACQ (dotted cross). Unslave returns control to the Sight to fine tune your aim. But if you use HDU as Sight, naturally nothing can Slave your head to the ACQ. You need to move your head yourself but there are the dots at the tip of the crosshairs to point you to where the ACQ is. My question though is this. As CP/G with HDU as Sight and TADS as ACQ, why can't I slew the TADS? I can see the RHG slew button moving but the TADS isn't slewing.
  17. I've been playing SP only using the previous beta in Syria & PG. Had no issues using them in SP only unless I was missing something. Only problem was that if a player is in a last ownship crash not resulting in death, the player cannot respawn as there is currently no 'eject'. I don't suppose there is a way to save the current state of the mission to continue it at another time? Update: Leave Apaches as 'Client' instead of 'Player' and reselect in 'Choose Slots'.
  18. Great! Have been enjoying the previous beta. Just downloaded this latest. Nice to have the save directory option. I noticed for Red Forces, the default in the drop down menu is now "Blue Default US Armor". It was previously "Red Default Armor (Hard)". Also, if I select only SP in the filter menu, I get only the Caucasus Conflict. Would it matter if I left the filter unchanged (ie. with MP, SP, COOP all selected) and use any generated mission in SP only? Thanks!
  19. Apr 2022 - Just what I was looking for but it seems this is still not possible?
  20. Yeah, a needed function. Was in Rotor Ops, after crash landing, no rotors and non-stop shaking in pit. Can't get out, can't respawn.
  21. Indeed. Was thinking though if that would cause some yaw or perhaps the rocket/hellfire back blast would get too close to the fuselage when articulating outwards. Pitching is probably ok.
  22. We only have laser hellfires at the moment and as the pilot cannot lase, I think for now "this is the way" (Mando tone). It should change when we have FCR/radar hellfires. In SP, I normally just fly and fight as CP/G.
  23. Hey thanks. Just downloaded. Would be great to have the option of having the generated missions automatically go into a directory of choice such as ...\User\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions I have other missions generated by Liberation and Briefing Room and they are all there in one convenient place. Is there a 'config' file I could edit to change the default output directory?
  24. I don’t see why there would be a diff since both actions (manual and LMC) do the sa,e thing, ie. turn the tads to keep the laser on target.
