Any chance you can make that left grip downloadable? When I get the time I'd like to use these to make a 3D printable version.
-
My sentiments as well. Yes it's annoying that I can't get the new stick sooner, but it's hardly something worth getting bitter over. I just have to wait a bit longer now.

Here you go. UFC_Main+Top_edit.zip

How did you remove the 2mm

NICE! With this it's possible to fully emulate all the A-10C switches in normal positions. As much as I love to warthog grip, I can see myself finally selling it off with the base now.

I finally printed mine after making a few edits (fixed some geometry, made the text deeper, combined the top piece with the main piece, separated all the knobs to print them individually). Then I went and checked the prices for the parts that Brun lists in his second post. Wooo boi. I think I'm going to have a look on aliexpress for similar components.

That doesn't sound right, it should be possible to print tiny models, way thinner than this model. I've just uploaded it to shapeways and it didn't seem to have any problems for me. If you're still having no luck, I've edited his model to remove the recessed area on the side; try that. side clamp edited.zip

Not another one of these threads. I don't mind the idea of female pilot voices at all, but I hate the idea that it's for the sake of satisfying someone else's politics rather than just immersion or nice to have options. Personally though if we're talking voice acting, I'd rather we get decent ATC first (male, female, both, I don't care).

Is the E bracket modelled correctly? The AoA indexer was showing the orange donut, but the E bracket was nowhere near the TVV.

Does this line up with the F18's afterburner without using curves? -
No, I like the current model of paying for content. What I hate the most is when people start suggesting other ways to spend my money when ED haven't even suggested that they need it. Maybe you can afford to spend more money than is asked for, but not everyone appreciates your generosity with their money.

Love the external textures, not sure about the afterburner glow though.

Awesome. What print settings did you use?

I absolutely agree. I noticed it when they started hyping for the hornet launch and not only did they keep it up, they've been going from strength to strength. I love being kept in the loop with development and things to come, it gives me great hope for the future. A full thumbs up from me.

Some older pics both with and without it mounted to show the difference. The Track IR mount broke and I designed and printed a new one that fits the profile of my monitor. The headphones also broke last night just as I was about to fly. Not shown is the bluetooth keyboard I use instead of the normal one.

The voice over is awful. Sorry, but bad accent and bad audio quality.

Pen and paper. Not kidding. lol I use a tablet with maps and PDFs on, but nothing really "general purpose" yet. I was planning on 3D printing and making a custom button box for gear lever and master arm with maybe a few other buttons; but I haven't finalised what I want on it. The most useful thing I use is actually 3 virpil desk mounts bolted together with 8mm threaded bar. Joystick and throttle are mounted centre and left, and I have an extra warthog mounting plate on the right that I use as a mouse pad. Finally I 3D printed some brackets that allow me to mount my thrustmaster MFDs to the threaded bar (one above each leg). All 4 devices are then plugged into one USB3 hub and the cables tidied up. The reason for all this is that I can mount my entire "sim station" onto my desk edge in about 30 seconds and be ready to go. Just lift on, tighten 3 clamps and plug into a USB3 port on top of my tower. I also have a wireless track clip that attaches with velcro so I don't have to mess with wires or plugging it in.

Deltalphalima, how are you planning on connecting the radar elevation knob? Would it require another USB device? Both. The feel and acuity of the replacement far outclass the standard nub.

A quick fix would be to just flip the plate upside down, although that would only be a temporary solution. The leading edge of the groove could be very slightly radiused to help alleviate the problems of the ball bearing meeting a hard edge and sudden obstruction, although ideally the detent would be a milled trough (and the ball bearing in constant rolling contact) rather than a void. The plate also looks too close to the detent ring. My reasoning for this is that the length of the worn groove is long, indicating that the ball bearing stays in contact for a long time indicating a long length of travel against its spring. The ball bearing only really needs to come into contact with the plate near the detent. Lastly, and crucially, the plate should be hardened. All this aside though, a much better design would have been to have the ball bearings or roller pins where the plate is (or elsewhere around the axis) and instead have the detent grooves on the adjustable bushings instead (either hardened steel or bronze). -
The latest versions of Max are subscription based. We'll have to see if they want to amke that jump considering what they've already invested in software.

If you are that tight on cash, why are you even considering buying video games?

How is hog grip on Virgil base?

Mine broke when I dropped it 6 inches with an extension still attached. I've got a nylon replacement installed on it now.
