  1. Correct. The Cougar throttle needs to be connected to the joystick for it to function. You can mix and match Cougar and Warthog devices in target and use which ever configuration you like. Out
  2. Kuky is giving solid advice IMO. Start there. Failing that it could be anything from simple to complex that maybe causing this issue including hardware, Bios, Bios settings, USB ports, Chipset drivers, video/sound drivers, directx and the list of possibilities goes on and on. Test hardware and update firmware, device drivers and software in all of these areas if possible. Best of luck in sorting the issue. Out
  3. I was assuming you meant with both throttle and stick connected and instead using a different joystick instead of the Cougar Stick with the Cougar throttle. Of course you can do this with Target. I missed that you were actually asking if you could use it without the stick connected and of course as Gadroc correctly states you can not. Sorry for misunderstanding. Out
  4. Maybe with the use of target although I am not sure. Out
  5. Very nice deal. I am going for two more copies of the BS2 upgrade for my other machines. Thank you ED! Out
  6. Sim mode is more realistic controls, systems and weaponry, game mode is not and is for beginners, little babies and sissies. :D Just kidding of course. If simulation mode is not to your liking or feels too difficult etc then game mode is just the ticket for some good fun without all the learning. Out
  7. Meh, as long as you can program a DX button or a keystroke it doesn't much matter to me. I have no issues with it at all. ;) Out
  8. It is an absolute must to have both TIR center and pause on the HOTAS and in a good postion. This makes TIR a breeze and deadly effective. Without quick access to both of these functions, and I mean quick, you are at a disadvantage in all respects.....IMHO. I use the WH Joystick S4 paddle for Teamspeak push to talk, the WH Throttle slider for zoom, the mic switch press for pause TIR, and mic switch up for center TIR. Using these buttons still allows you to use the default config in A10-C as well. Map it, learn it, use it or burn it. :) Out
  9. Deep breath dude. It might be worth trying to sort this rather than reverting. Uninstall all of it again. Then after saving any data you might want from both of these locations delete the C:\Users\"your username"\Saved Games\DCS Warthog folder (looks like you may not have from the error) and make sure you remove the old install directory as well and then try using the full 1.1.1.1 install instead of the patch. (Seems I have said this before) ;) Out
  10. I thought everyone knew this. Re-centering TIR on the point of interest is needed if you would like to continue to use your neck and eyeballs for other things in life. Were there honestly people turning their heads way to the side or down and trying to hold it there while they move their eyeballs to uncomfortable positions? Another tip: Try pausing the TIR on the center of panels etc while viewing or flipping switches for further comfort during use. I will often pause and then zoom with view fixed. It is much easier then trying to use your head as a fine pointing device. Recenter and pause often, get good at it and you will find it much easier. I keep both functions mapped to my WH. Out
  11. I think "knock on wood" might be a bettter way to say it. :D Out
  12. Congratulations!
  13. No you do not need a high end graphics card for hosting. A low end card is fine. Out
  14. Projectors can be pretty cool but they need to have high resolution and be be very bright for most to find them acceptable by todays standards. Even better is a pair of them for true stereoscopic 3D. Wish I was rich. Out
  15. Many of the squadrons have events where dead is dead and you only get one life. It is very immersive and practical for an event. It is not however practical when running a public dedicated server daily. So in essence what you seek is already out there and available but only for specific events (As it should be). Good reasons for joining a squad outside of all that Tyger has posted is that through a squadron lifelong friendships are often forged. Flying with people from all around the world also expands your view of the world around you. Great community, really nice people. :) Out
  16. Sorry I'm late. Hope you had a great one Mustang. Millions more man. ~Paul
  17. I would double check this info on not flashing the firmware. I am not sure this is correct. It was my understading that the bricked throttle failure has affected fewer units since the latest firmware. It would be too late to flash it to the latest revision once the throttle is bricked. I also have a very early unit which has never given me an issue. I flashed it to firmware 20 from 18 as soon as it was released. The LED's now go dark as they should at shut down. I would not hesitate to flash it to the latest and I believe that is the general consensus of most current WH users. Of course it is up to you. :) Out

  19. Just hang in there I am sure you will be able to grab one at 350 or so on sale. Great HOTAS. Eats the rest for breakfast. :D Out
  20. Our apologies for any instability experienced while flying on our servers. We are working diligently to rectify the issues. We are sorting through them trying to ascertain the cause of the crashes and categorize according to potential type, mission related, patch related, or servman/server settings related. We are also submitting logs through the proper channels for examination by the developers and testers. We have of course seen very large numbers of people on both servers throughout the weekend. The majority of them suffering only minor issues and of course the occasional crash. Pings below 300 would be fine if not for these other issues. As far as we can tell at this point the network is not the problem the crashes appear to be mission or game related and some what random in nature. Out
  21. I store mine in the fridge when not in use. :P C'mon really? No seriously I would say the box is the best place to store it when not in use for a long period of time. I bought the awesome WH Covers to keep the piggy warm between flights. Yes I think so. I recommend the Cables Unlimited model USB1870 if you can find it across the pond.
  22. Speak friend and enter.... No seriously 104th and stallturn server should be listed there. :) Out
