Might this be a mapping problem? You shouldn't have to assign the "NWS" button to "Return to RWS". The NWS button functions are hard coded so it performs the appropriate function depending situation. One the deck weight on wheels, pressing NWS changes NWS range. Inflight in in ACM Mode pressing NWS is "Undesignate" which returns the Radar to RWS.

You've never heard of Anderson AFB Guam? https://www.andersen.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/414630/andersen-air-force-base-history/ The strategic importance of this area to the United States and her allies as far back as World War II can not be overstated. It is also perfectly suited to carrier / Navel operations for both Blue AND red assets.

That bracket looks like something you'd find on Thingyverse.com :megalol:

Wrench I'd be interested in how many hits it Normally takes to reduce the target to 50% capacity or less. In real life testing many times the target was not "Destroyed" but immobilized or rendered non functional. (Round through the barrel verses round through the engine block scenarios) I'd be curious how damage is modeled for Ground vehicles.

There is a light...the baskets have reflective strips on them that reflect the light... The light is ungodly bright. Bright as in during night A/R you can see ANYTHING behind the tanker beside that damn light!

[REQUESTED]Request For Huey Upgrade (No Doors)
Sierra99 replied to DeltaXrayBravo's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Sorry I was talking about the RWR not the doors...Doors On Doors Off, I got no dog in that fight. ???? (Unless I am mistaken, OH-58s flew sans doors.) -
[REQUESTED]Request For Huey Upgrade (No Doors)
Sierra99 replied to DeltaXrayBravo's topic in DCS: UH-1H
You guys need to remember...just because particular unit had a piece of equipment or system does not mean they all had it...or lacked it. -
That post is from last month...the key words in it are "we will have more info coming, but right now, this is all we know." This weeks newsletter says "Following the free A-10C cockpit update, we will be releasing A-10C Warthog 2 in 2020. This will be a dramatic visual and systems upgrade to our A-10C. Once the new features have been finalized, we look forward to sharing them with you." So what the new systems will be...is still unknown...but I highly doubt it will be a minimalist as some here are implying.

Question: center or right have side stick
Sierra99 replied to BlacleyCole's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I have both. I have a center Stick Warthog Base with Hornet Stick and a Side-mount Warthog Base with a Cougar Stick. ( I scored a "Broken Warthog on ebay for a song. 1 wire in base cold solder joint.) -
You have to remember just because something has a " New" designation it The changes may not be anything noticeable different to the end user. in this case: The upgrades appear to address the issues discovered but probably don't add any significant new capabilities to the -120 that we as end users would notice. Also, if these weapons were initially procured to address issues discovered with the Raptor...they would have been sent to F-22 bases. Not F-16s bases. There are -120Cs that are perfectly suitable for use on F-16s available.

ACM and AACQ are not different modes. ACM (Air Combat Maneuvering) is the "Mode" and ACM has four sub-modes that can be selected depending on situation during close combat: • GACQ (Gun Acquisition): automatically enabled with air-to-air guns are selected • BST (Boresight): searches targets out to 10 nm • VACQ (Vertical Acquisition): vertical auto-acquisition search pattern covers from -13 deg to +46 deg, searches targets out to 5 nm • WACQ (Wide Acquisition): space-stabilized mode that can be slewed using the TDC controller when uncaged, searches targets out to 10 nm Think of of it as "Tuning" the ACM mode for specific situations.

[UNABLE TO REPRODUCE]Hornet HSI MAP issues (?)
Sierra99 replied to Burner1111's topic in Bugs and Problems
Try running Repair first and have it clean up files after repair. It saves the you hassle of having to do a complete install and if repair finds any stray files you missed, it might help identify what is possible causing the issue if it's just in your machine. -
The 7M is heavier...but mounted far closer to the lateral center of gravity than a 9X on the wingtip is. I don't know where to look in NATOPS but I am sure there is a formula for computing lateral imbalance. I'm pretty sure it would show that releasing an Aim-9 from a wingtip results in the loss of more lateral moment than releasing an 7M from the cheek station does. The larger the change in lateral moment...the more pronounced roll reaction. (Please note I am not saying or implying there isn't an issue...just offering a possible reason for the difference you see.)

Question about real life Hornet HOTAS
Sierra99 replied to sirrah's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Ya know it's also interesting the same Targeting POD functions and Controls are implemented differently across several airframes. The AN/AAQ-28 is used on the A-10, F-16, F-18 and AV-8B...On the A-10...Zoom is on the Stick...On the F-16 its on the Throttle...On the F-18...Zoom is on the Throttle...On the Harrier...Zoom is MFD controlled. As far as I know the mounting connections for the POD is the same no matter who is using it. I am guessing this has to do with the wiring buses and what controls / switches can be accessed / programmed "easiest" to achieve the end result. -

Would you want ANY heavy aircraft modules for DCS?
Sierra99 replied to Wing's topic in DCS Core Wish List
For what its worth the Air Force agreed..FB-111's were classified as "Fighter Contacts" for monthly contact currency when I was flying... ;) -
One button for flares, another for chaff, possible?
Sierra99 replied to madeiner's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Ok...I am a moron... Where is the slap switch? -
Good News...eventually you'll be able to slew to a waypoint etc...W.I.P. (Another trick is to Select CCRP, use TMS Down to "Cage" the TGP. Point the Box TGP Box on the HUD at a new target area and use TMS Forward to ground stabilize the TGP. You can then Slew to new target)
