Nice work ED  Been looking forward to this function on the Hornet for a while now. Can't wait to try it out tonight.

That was great. I only watched the movie the other day, got it on DVD and its one of my favorites. Your remake is fairly darn close, nice work.

NTTR, AGM 65E mission - JTAC is killed by targets

I can also confirm this, had exact same thing happen to my JTAC tonight in this mission. -
[DCS BUG RESOLVED] Getting stuck in map view,
bart replied to Andysim212's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes I get this now since the last update. If I create waypoints on the map using the Mark Label icon and save them as say wpt1 or wpt2 for jester to load into the ins I can not get out the F10 map view, DCS freezes and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to force DCS to close. This worked perfectly up until the last update, so something is broken. Not sure if its a DCS thing or F14 specific. Hope they see this and fix it soon as using jester to enter waypoints like this was very useful in SP. EDIT : - Just tried this again in a SP mission and if you don't enter a name for the waypoint it works as normal, if you change the name of the mark point whilst in F10 view to say "Wpt1" it locks you into the F10 map. Looks like a bug. -
Hey buddy, were you ever at Leuchars? I spent 3 years there back in the Phantom days (86-89) lovely place. So you're now in Durham? Penshaw is my home town/village., just up the road! Agree with all that's been said, superb module.

Sounds like you are missing a step in the start up procedure. My advice would be to work your way through the cold start training mission, then try a jester assisted start up until you get your head around what's going on with the jet. Then you can work out your own shortcuts to the procedure once it starts to become second nature.

[NO BUG] AN/AWG-9 - Introduction training mission bugged
bart replied to D4n's topic in Bugs and Problems
Strange, I just tried these training missions today and didn't have this issue. May be worth checking your controls. -
View position in VR feels about right to me too. Reminds me of the times I sat in F-4's in the RAF. Awesome cockpit in VR

Thanks for the update Cobra. Your "baby" is absolutely awesome. Loving it, it's an absolute blast in MP when flying a two crew. What an experience. :D

Well, I'm quite proud of myself. Managed to plug into the C130 tanker on the first attempt. I got a whole load of sarky comments from big J in the back seat mind you! but I did it. Bounced around a bit thought. One thing I did notice however. In the F18 once the A/C is full the tanker just disconnects and the hose reels in but on the Cat it didn't seem to do this. I stayed plugged in until I couldn't see the fuel gauge increase any further and then pulled back from the tanker. Did I miss something here or is this how it works in the Cat?

Well done HB, many congratulations. So close now I can smell that burnt kerosene :D

Nice picture. I do recognise at least half of those cockpit panels along the right side of that pit though are from a Tornado! CSAS panel, Engine control panel, Fuel system panel, Volume control panel and the INU panels are all there. Lol.

Are you designating the initial area of interest for the MAV as a target? If so you need to press the undesignate button first then the MAV will slew.

Fantastic release trailer. The music reminded me a bit of the theme tune for Spectre, very atmospheric. Only thing I missed in there was a LANTIRN view of an LGB hitting something!. I also noticed the RIO's hand on the handle during launch, I was half expecting him to take it off the handle following the launch. The part at 0:48 was definitely a _I_ (the finger) moment. The more I watch it the better it gets. If only the visuals were that clear in VR :/ Brilliant trailer, simply brilliant. Roll on Wednesday...
-
Don't worry Cobra, come the 13th we will try our very best to break it for ya :D It's going to take some balls to sit in the RIO's seat in someone's aircraft when they are shooting their first carrier landing in the Cat. :joystick: Roll on the 13th...

+100% on this. An empty cockpit in VR just totally kills immersion for me too. Personally I'm really looking forward to the virtual pilot/RIO release. I hope it's near the top of their post launch priority list.

Darn. I was hoping for the bug fixes for the F18 Wags talked about yesterday here :- https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3824342&postcount=141

To all you lucky folks out there who are test flying the Tomcat prior to public release a quick question for you. Anyone tried the Tomcat in VR yet? if so how clear are the displays to read in VR (specifically on the Oculus)?. Also the Jester wheel, I read something somewhere that you can select Jester options by just looking at a quadrant of the Jester circle and pushing a mapped button to select that option whilst in VR? does this come as a standard option or is it something that the user has to set up in "options"? Do you find it works well in VR?

Well, ED's new server system is sure going to get stress tested on the 13th!. Congratulations HB on reaching a historic milestone. Well done guy's. Only 10 and a bit day's to go......less than two weeks :shocking: :D

Nice. Great video guy's. She sure looks awesome.

Nice pic QuiGon. I have LOTS of hands on with both the Tornado GR1 (TTTE) and the Tornado F3 (25(F) Sqn) and I know the propulsion systems on both better than I know my car!. I would love to see this iconic aircraft in DCS. I bid a fond farewell to the old girl just a few days ago when the Tornado "FINale" flight flew over an airfield near to where I live. I booked the day off work to go see her in her element just one last time. I was surprised to feel the way I did, with a rather large lump in my throat and even a tear in the eye. To see something, that I saw everyday for the best part of 15 years, in flight for the last time was very emotional. Here's hoping to see her again in DCS in the future. Fair winds Tonka, I will miss you......

I believe this is the fuel tank venting when the probe is out and would be correct behaviour, and the only time I can recall seeing it. I've not noticed it during high g or reheat climbs though.

Ahhh, nice to get back on topic! Great pic. LGB's under the fuselage on those cats.

Same reason here too. DCS is a bit thin on the ground when simulating this technology well. Only the A10-C so far has a targeting pod and I would assume that sorely needs an update as it hasn't really changed since I got into DCS 6 years ago. I know there's one coming with the Hornet but "when" is anyone's guess. HB looks as if they have made a cracking simulation of the LANTERN and it looks very realistic and I for one can't wait to try it (I'm a ground pounder at heart).
