  1. I was messing around with the engine controls today and noticed you can also link the prop pitch lever to the throttle as well as the boost lever, so all three advance together. I experimented with it for a while but couldn't see a reason why you would fly like this in a combat setting. Anyone know if there's any mention in a manual somewhere what situations you would have both levers locked to the throttle? like in a cruise configuration for example..
  2. Excellent mod, just tried it. Thanks for sharing it. On topic.....Good idea about the updates, just hope we do get hot fixes and module specific fixes as soon as they are available as was said earlier. A four week wait for a simple but essential fix is a loooong wait!
  3. I have a Virpil WarBRD base with a Warthog stick on it and MUCH prefer it over the stock Warthog base. The "feel" is so much better and no stiction what so ever like you get with the Warthog stock base. The WarBRD is very precise and great to use. I used to have an 8cm extension on my stock Warthog base but I don't use any extension on the WarBRD, I find no need for one. I can't recommend the WarBRD base highly enough, one of my best buy's for flight sim hardware I'd say. It's great.....
  4. +1 It's a stunning map, well done ED.
  5. Same here. I tried this tutorial yesterday and only had one centreline bomb loaded.
  6. Has the P-47 Forum just changed? The headers on the top, Bugs, Wishlist etc?
  7. Could be.... Well, the update is taking it's time today..17:00 BST here and still no changelog posted yet, let alone the update itself. Although it would be a first for ED.....no pre-purchase period for either module? EDIT : I see it says on the Steam page there's a 20% limited time discount for both P-47 and the Channel Map.
  8. Looks like we will have to wait a bit longer for that functionality https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4365858&postcount=23
  9. Fair enough on the OP's point of view. As for me, I'm a WW2 nut and this map will be a day one buy for me. The possibilities for this map is huge, including hopefully some day...DCS Battle Of Britain with all the correct period modules. When the Mosquito finally arrives there's intruder missions, in fact there's no reason why this map couldn't be used for scenarios from 1940 through to 1944 and beyond. Hopefully it will become the stable map for the WW2 servers. My only worry at the moment is it's performance, in one of the previews (can't remember which exact one now as I've watched them all!)it was mentioned there were stutters at times. Hopefully ED will get this ironed out. So yeah, roll on release!.
  10. Also some explanation on how the targeting pod now works would be great, it's doing very odd things for me at the moment, unable to slew it when in area and point track, slewing to 180 deg when un-designating etc.
  11. Call me a Jug....er I mean mug, but I'm all in for both the Channel Map and the P47D. I was on the fence about the P47D to start with but this video has me hooked I'm afraid, love that engine sound, they got it just right. Channel map was going to be a first day buy for me anyway.
  12. Maybe a bit late here to try and answer the op on his original question but.... We used F-34 AVTUR (NATO identification), in the RAF. We put the same stuff into all visiting jets of all nations including visiting F16's from USAF, Danish Air Force etc. I would think ED uses the virtual stuff :)
  13. +1 for the SP release if at all possible. What Crimson Ghost said above about extra testing data from a wider range of users on a Single Player only release may be really helpful to ED in the long run.
  14. As far as I'm aware if you open your DCS stable version and go to the module manager it should ask you if you want to install the PG map. If you select yes the installer will search your PC for any other installs you have ie the Beta and copy it over from there. That's how it's happened to me in the past anyway.
  15. I just picked this campaign up along with the advanced one and I'm on mission 4 so far and I'm loving it! Great work Sabre  Th A10-C was my first module way back when I first got into DCS and I haven't flown it for a while but as the Warthog 2 is on it's way - and I'm definitely a mud mover at heart and prefer ground attack over modern Air to Air - I thought I would brush the dust of the old Hog again, and I'm having a blast with it. After spending a while flying the Hornet with part completed systems and lots of bugs (EA I know!) it's great to fly a completed module with so much detail again. This campaign reminds me of way back when I was doing my PPL with an instructor bellowing in my ear to fly accurately, maintain altitude, heading and speed, watch that nose drop in the turn, fly circuits accurately etc etc etc. Something we all forget to do when blasting about on a MP server with the sky as our playground, it's so easy to forget how to fly accurately, but with practice it once again becomes second nature to do it. So.... many thanks for this brilliant campaign, I'm really looking forward to completing it and then moving onto the advanced, and tactical ones. I'm learning heaps! :D EDIT :- The new remastered A10-C cockpit is just beautiful, should look even better with a bit of weathering on it when the Warthog 2 releases.
  16. Good newsletter, sounds like a great plan to have a dedicated multiplayer testing server. Hopefully ED will get a bunch of players with all different spec rigs on the server but please don't forget to include some VR users on there too! Nothing worse than a good update being released for 2D that turns out a stutter fest for the VR folks! Love that screenshot with the Spitfire. I'm guessing that's the Channel Map? Looking forward to further updates as and when
  17. +100  Keep up the great work guys....
  18. All back to normal here too, hotfix worked like a charm. Thanks to BIGNEWEY for the help and all at ED for the quick response to the issue
  19. Thanks for that
  20. Post your crash log here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=264282 It may help them fix it quick.
  21. Post your crash log here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=264282 It may help ED fix this quicker if we post as many logs as possible
  22. Log attached. dcs.log-20200220-174452.zip
  23. Looks like its a login issue, hope they are aware of this and fix it with a hotfix soon.
  24. [REPORTED]Open Beta Crash on startup. Following todays update (DCS Openbeta 2.5.6.43872) whenever I try to load the game it crashes shortly after the login window. Tried a repair but no luck. It asks me for permission to send a crash report, and I have sent two so far. Just tried the stable version and this runs fine. The Open Beta ran fine for me prior to todays update. EDIT I cleared the fxo and Metashaders files in the saved games folder prior to update too, but I always do this before any update anyway so unlikely cause? Also it looks like others are having a similar issue.
  25. Anyone else getting a crash shortly after the login window with the new update?
