  1. Same for me. First time I had it was in the Harrier so thought it was the module, but I had this in the Spitfire too, so same issue as other are experiencing. I have also lost the back ground hangar view when on the UI screen in VR. Just getting a black back ground but not sure if this is intended or not?.

    Pitch Carets.

Good tips thanks. Ill try this out next time I fly it.

    Pitch Carets.

Ahhh ok. I dont pitch up that much on T/O so I guess thats why I havent seen them. It says to line up the witches hat on the carets on T/O but 15 deg nose up.....isnt that a bit high?

    Pitch Carets.

Are these implemented yet? I read in the pocket guide that for EA they are fixed at 14 deg but they dont appear on the HUD in STOL mode. Anyone know if this is a bug or are they just not showing yet?
  5. Yeah, we can't feel the hover stop on our controls so its difficult. The little cheat I found was to first bind the STO stop to the TMS switch on the stick (or a switch on your throttle if you prefer, any would do), one push forward moves the STO lever one notch forward, one push back for one notch back. I have the slider on the Warthog throttle bound to the nozzle lever, forward for nozzle aft (lever forward). Four pushes on the TMS forward puts the STO stop on the hover stop so when moving the slider ALL the way back I get the nozzle lever at the hover stop. If I want a bit more rev nozzle then one back push on the TMS switch puts the nozzle lever over the hover stop and in the REV zone, one more click rearward of the TMS and its further back. Two clicks forward on the TMS switch and its back on the hover stop. This way you know where the hover stop is, and can control the hover much better looking out rather than keep looking down at the levers to see what they are doing or fixating on the nozzle angle reading on the HUD. Try it and watch the levers in the cockpit and you'll see how it works, and it does work quite well. I got the idea from the Sea Harrier FRS1's I worked on IRL years ago. They had a switch on the top of the throttle that with one click forward moved the nozzles 5 deg forward and one click back 5 deg back from the nozzle lever set point to aid landing on the ship. :)
  6. I'm using the A10-C flaps switch as the parking brake control as it's a) in the right position on the throttle box, and b) it's much easier to move it in VR this way than trying to click on it in the cockpit.
  7. Nice Love it when they sneak these little but important things into an update and don't let on in the change log they have done it. Gives a lovely surprise next time you fly it, like finding an easter egg!
  8. Yep, fantastic module RAZBAM, loving it so far. It certainly has brought a lot more fun to DCS not to mention the challenge. Well done guy's on a great launch into EA.

    Sounds!

As far as the engine idle sound I think RAZBAM nailed it here, it has that distinctive Pegasus whine, but the pitch of the whine does not change with throttle increase, hopefully they will continue to work on this, but for an EA module I was surprised when I first started it up how good the engine idle sound was. Much better than I was expecting.
  10. Agree, its a stunning module, but along with others I do also get stutter and low FPS in VR. Hopefully they will optimise it better, then it will really be something
  11. Just tried the old girl in the latest beta release. Great improvement on the engine sounds ED, nice touch. Good to see she got some attention.
  12. Looks like Santa has arrived :D Have fun guy's but keep crashes to a minimum ok, theres only so many Harriers to go around :joystick:
  13. Great update and very much appreciated. Lots of things look forward to.
  14. Excellent letter here from the ED Team, posted by Wags. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3303383#post3303383 Very much appreciate the news update and glad to be aboard.
  15. This...... Even if it is fictional for this particular version, the old girl needs to remember her ancestry.
  16. 50 here..... Been addicted to aircraft since a kid. Spent years in the RAF and managed to get a bit of flying in (I was ground crew - aircraft propulsion - not aircrew) and know the Harrier and Tornado like the back of my hand! so I'm really looking forward to getting my mits on RAZBAM's Harrier soon, see how realistic it really is :) Got my PPL-M (Microlights) in my early 30's. Flown a few hundred hours with that, but have given up RL flying now mainly due to rising costs, so DCS now feeds my addiction DCS in VR is about the closest you can get to flying without actually flying!. First flight sim was Spitfire 40 from mid 80's I think, can't remember who made it now.......
  17. Good find BT. Bit odd they (ED) didnt include a similar statement in last weeks newsletter. There may be folk who receive the newsletter but dont visit the forums or go around digging for release info on the internet, and may miss the pre release discount not realising its actually releasing next Wednesday! Not a complaint......just an observation. :music_whistling:
  18. Glad to help

  20. I did https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3296698&postcount=172 At least we all know now
  21. /\ /\ /\ Hi Grandpa.......Bye Grandpa /\ /\ Agree here. Folk are just a wee bit excited about this module and impatience may be creeping in a little. After all "It's a lot more bother with a Hover"!!
  22. I think he was referring to the cat
  23. My money is on Wednesday 29th November. :music_whistling:
  24. Setting up the approach is everything, good approach = good landing. What really concentrates the mind is engine failures. I had two tonight on the AO server. First one my fault....I ran out of fuel, glided her in for a nice 3 pointer, rolled off the runway, refuelled and was off again in 5 mins. Second again was my fault. Decided to see how high it would go, and practiced spinning on the way down. Unfortunately I blew the prop governor trying to see how fast I could get her to spin. Again a glide approach and a good 3 pointer had me on the ground again in one piece. If you want to practice approaches, get yourself over head an airfield and kill the mags and see if you can get her down in one piece......great fun. After a bit of practice you should get it right every time. Then try a bit further out from the airfield and see how far you can go and still get her in. Superb module......love it.
  25. +1 They (RAZBAM) did a great job on the M2000C pilot body, it looks great in VR. You can even see books stuffed into his left ankle pocket from certain angles. I for one hope they repeat similar for the Harrier, as Im sure they will. Question for now though is will the pilot body be present in the early access release? Fingers crossed it will........
