Polychop Simulations OH-58D Kiowa
Rogue Trooper replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I have not seen any Polychops photos of the OH-58D with an ALQ-144 infrared countermeasure set installed at the base of the tail boom. Is it going to be on the final release module? Sorry if this has already been asked already and replied too. I bet the Polychops Pilots will be better than the Razbam M-2000 pilot.. :) -
Also do not forget the Projectile and Cartridge in the comparison. MI-24P has a 30 x 165 mm round, heavier projectile, more propellant. AH-64 has a 30 x 113 mm round.

reported Cockpit ambient light glare: Latest OB
Rogue Trooper replied to DUSTY's topic in Bugs and Problems
What time of day were these images taken? Early morning, late evening or midday? -
I have a feeling in my waters that these images show the ground based test/training chopper used for evaluating the KA-52 systems.... but it is just a feeling in my waters. I would love something like this in DCS... but more than likely BS3 will only have the basic president S defensive system, which I would be very happy with.

I agree. Having said that.... flying the Hind in my santa boots would be good! :)

What does the "rod" at the front of the gunners cockpit do?
Rogue Trooper replied to Milkyblue's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
The MH-53 Pave Low can do that too..... such a cool chopper. -
Hrrrrnnnn. well if that is true then I see no reason not to Pre-order one.... Hell! Why wouldn't I! Whats the best place to pre-order in the UK?

What do you use as a Collective?
Rogue Trooper replied to melchionda's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What do you use to hold the collective up mr mojo97, a damper perhaps and if so what damper? I need to start work on my Westland collective.... Its been in the to do Queue forever. -
Has there been any comparison between the Reverb G1 and Reverb G2 regarding fps drop? Is it the same or worse?
-
Yes it is. But slowly it is getting simpler and more reliable. I guess that is life on the cutting edge.

Looks superb. Beautifully built. The OH-58D Collective is definitely a great choice..... Hats galore!

Soviet/Russian Attack Helicopter tactics for the Hind?

Ok... -
Need your advise : To Pre-order or Not HP REVERB G2
Rogue Trooper replied to Goa's topic in Virtual Reality
G2 has a vastly wider sweet spot and that theoretically renders it vastly superior to the G1. All that ReZ to behold wherever your eye balls fall. -
Soviet/Russian Attack Helicopter tactics for the Hind?
Rogue Trooper replied to Andrei Dragovic's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
My guess is that the appearance of the stinger changed only everything when it came to the aggressive deployment of hinds. Each and every hind pilot never knew whether a "single" stinger missile was in the field of operation and therefore caution was observed regardless of whether the "single" stinger was there or not. A thug like the Hind should know no caution when entering the battlefield, it was designed as a spearhead along with tanks and infantry rolling forward and killing.... killing anything that resists. It was very successful in Syria where no such high tech AA wizardry existed.... just guns.... Hinds are not scared of guns.... it is why they are riddled with bullet holes and lived to tell the tale. :) -
Gazelle ...what is needed to get the auto hover kicking in!?
Rogue Trooper replied to Frag's topic in Polychop-Simulations
As mentioned before. You have to hover first to engage auto hover. Not split second hover... solid and stable hover... then engage Auto hover and change seats. -
Kiowa practice, use Huey or Balck Shark?
Rogue Trooper replied to gdotts's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I would say the Gazelle. Others are too heavy and too slow to react to cyclic inputs. The MI-8 and Huey are perfect for learning choppers for the first time as they are forgiving... especially the Huey. But the gazelle will prepare you for TWITCH. -
Nicely put Cowboy10uk. Without doubt the perfect chopper for exploring new maps as you can get right into the tightest of spots for a good nose around.

reported High consumption of RAM memory
Rogue Trooper replied to Frogfoot250's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think my description above is incorrect, I reran Flying Damascus when my system had cooled. The first time I ran the map as stated above, I thought the graphics were not that great. The trees looked funny and the buildings looked toy like, the ground was weird too. It was not until I flew to the coast did I think the trees looked great and the buildings detailed and on par with the other maps... this is also when the frames dropped. I thought it was weird that Damascus was not as good as the coast line. Re running Damascus the graphics are now top notch and running a much lower 38 fps. Weirdly, second time around in Beirut gave better fps, although I spawned there directly instead of flying. Great Map. -
reported High consumption of RAM memory
Rogue Trooper replied to Frogfoot250's topic in Bugs and Problems
I did a 4 hour tour flight of the new map today, I had 3 20 minute breaks here and there with my gazelle landed and running (no pause to keep VR from going to sleep)). So it was a constant running free flight mission in VR for 4 hours. Damascus was the start and ran superbly, rarely dropping below my locked 45 fps no matter how low or high (50m) I went. I flew out over the mountains and paused to look at Damascus again.... a perfect 45 fps! I then flew to the coast (Israel), I had probably been flying around 1 hour and now small cities were pulling down my frames to 36 - 40 fps. I headed north up the coast seeing the same lower frame rates with even the smallest of towns. Beirut was ok at 36 - 40 fps, then I flew NE to Baalbek (38 - 45fps) and back to Damascus to see how that was behaving, on arrival it ran low at 30 fps everywhere. I wonder if there could be a memory leak or something..... or I have to tweak my computers cooling:) Superb map! -
Yes thanks for the MIZ file. Downloading the map now............

I have played the Huey and MI-8 since release. There were alot of people bitchin and complaining about dirt and scratches on the windows obscuring targets.... I think the complainers were not ready for true reality simulations. I think Belsimtek eventually got tired of the constant whining and made the glass crystal clear. believe me.... I was there.

A few question about upcoming Hind - Effects, GPS, coalitions
Rogue Trooper replied to Maverick24's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
I've seen Huey videos with head mounted cameras that are just as wobbly and vibratey. Head wobbles is normal, like a very well designed suspension... I bet the person sitting in the co pilots seat did not notice the vibration as much until he watched the vid.
