"greater probabilty" PK "plans to tweak missile behaviors and performances" Well, only with what it possibly should be...... Not what people think it should be.:D Have you got any accurate data to what you think it should be and how it should be? What is you experience based off? There is some performance testing done based off CFD testing, fuel and rocket motor etc.

So, what exactly are you saying here....So, you like the flight model then.:D Tell me how you really feel...;)

Just watch Wags video's, then jump back in sim and practice that lesson. The Hornet is quite intuitive once you play around with it for a bit.

Who's Belsimtek? :D Is that still confirmed? Seeing they are part of ED now.

The trailers possibly have some color correction and sharpening filters? I shot and recorded this in the raw (No filters) 1440P @ 60fps. YouTube compresses it down. If you watch this full screen @1440 it does not look as good as it does in game. Looks very good if left small tho. Artists filter for a compromised balance for large and small etc. This is what it looks like when playing around with color correction and sharpening then up loading, possibly to much here, it really pops. I only tinker around with this stuff.;)

Will VKB and VirPil ever get their stuff together?
David OC replied to ElCuco68's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
I'm after a Gunfighter Pro with the MCG pro grip for ages. What is everyone else after from VKB? I would be happy to place a good deposit down to cover costs and I'm sure many others would too if that's easy to setup. This would then at least let you know how many are already sold when they hit the shop and build the necessary amount to fill orders. The real big fix and correct way with no cheat will "eventually" come from foveated rendering in VR. The cheat will be if you have better vision and situational awareness than your opponent. I mean that's where we want it to end up right. "When your eyes become the selection tool, those first two steps become one." www.wired.com/story/eye-tracking-vr/ "Further, Stevens noted that only 7 megapixels of these 576 megapixels matter. Why? Because while we have a 180-degree field of vision, we can only detect high resolution 2 degrees from the center called Foveal vision." futurism.com/what-is-the-resolution-of-the-human-eye "2 degrees from the center called Foveal vision" So zooming in here is "sort of" correct for a monitor as you should not detect an enemy aircraft at 5 miles out side of this 2 degrees high resolution scan. So going to far on a monitor for general spotting would be very much cheating and having a very large screen, even more so. As you would see the aircraft in your Peripheral vision, when IRL you would not and need to scan the sky a lot more diligently.:) LOL

The AGM-122 "Sidearm" Came To Be From A Novel Missile Recycling Scheme Best in game... Yes, the Su-25T for now.

Comfirmation that I need to a new graphic cards.
David OC replied to thdman1511's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Minimum system requirements (LOW graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Intel Core i3 at 2.8 GHz or AMD FX; RAM: 8 GB (16 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 60 GB; Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD R9 280X or better; requires internet activation. Hi Trevor, You would be able to run the F-18 possibly, it will not be very enjoyable sorry. The frame rate will be very low and can be frustrating. I normally recommend the GTX 1060 with (6GB) for DCS and gaming in general @ 1080P. 1070 or more @ 1440P 1080 / 1080it @ 4K and VR It's also always good to have DCS on an SSD. There is always a balance between eye candy and performance. Even on good top end PC's and 4K or VR. This hobby can be a little expensive right:), once setup to a good level, it's only a matter of upgrading here and there. I slowly buildup my system over a few years and still on the Kaby Lake chip and possibly upgrade that next year, waiting to see how DCS performs a bit more down the road. How does your system run now with DCS 2.5 Trevor? -
You need to Save As into the MY missions folder. Don't leave the modified mission in the quick mission folder of the aircraft.
-
Setup using the editor a quick one vs one etc, then you can just quickly open and change it around when you want to. Skill set and aircraft etc. Recommend you Install the free tacview. Growling Sidewinder has some great tutorials with tacview walkthroughs at the end.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MISSIONS FOR F18 FROM USER FILES
David OC replied to SPOKEY's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You might find some here also in the Missions and Campaigns section. ...and as Habu_69 has said. Put them in C:\Users\YOUR PC USER NAME\Saved Games\DCS Beta\Missions folder. That's the "My mission" folder when in DCS. -
If you want to see how accurate it is for visual navigation for IRL training and good to learn these landmarks for the campaigns available. Checkout these older videos by Bunyap for a walkthrough.

Yes it's enough. I run my OS on the m.2 nvme, have DCS on one of the Evo's 500mb/s and the OS page swap file on a 2nd SSD 500mb/s. The separate page file is not really needed, it's just a "precautionary measure" for maximizing VR performance.

What new feature of the Hornet are you most looking forward to?
David OC replied to Wags's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
And if it was a known target. Perhas this might give you a little help also with a few tomahawks. :) -
That matches close to this old research that I have posted here before. If you have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 with glasses as the pilots. This is something ED cannot fix tho. Could add help for SP only or for a veterans only server.:) (DC-3) collision course Over various conditions (detection distance) 5.5 to 8.7 km 3.4 to 5.4 Miles Knew exactly the approach angle of the target aircraft 17.3 to 23 km 10.7 to 14.9 Miles Predicting Visibility of Aircraft

Tester can only test so far and I'm sure everything has been reported that can be. Dedi servers are coming anyway, so there will be more to test and this should help with MP moving forward. The AI is not that bad, there is a LOT of room for improvement and a scripted campaigns/missions can have unlimited random group position spawn points with different skills or random skills. This can be further randomized by a group being partially kill and randomly spawning in the others etc. This can make any mission very different to a large extent, much more work for the mission designer tho. If you own the A-10C or Ka-50 you can open some of the campaign missions and see the different random spawning groups on mission start. I mostly use single player. It still is fun jumping online from time to time tho. I recommend you give it a go if you haven't, it's a whole new dynamic to the normal game play.

I think you took what Revelation meant way to the next level and out of context. The systems in place now allows you to be still competitive when used correctly. It's nice to have more bells and whistles sure, not when you don't know how or when to use all those bells and whistles tho.
-
Going to need a bigger map for that one.... 33 miles per minute! Might just need more of a "DCS World" for that one.... Cool video and all is explained by former SR-71 pilot. The internal fuel gets to 350 to 375 degrees Fah....and need to use nitrogen to inert the fuel.
-
It's just an extra reference to check angles. This is a great old video by Bunyap, he talks about how it would be good to use with your peripheral vision (7:00 mark) if you could in sim. Have to try it and see if the Rift now gives you enough peripheral vision to see it when diving in.
-
This is how this is done with style for real....Ape does explain how to try and fool someone into it with this tactic (Watch the slight positioning). Many good tactics here
-
I think it was Snoopy that said you cannot bolt on larger engines without major strengthening on the mounts, which would not be worth the cost and speed gain advantages of the design. The best thing to do (OP) no one has mentioned IRL weapon loadouts, if you are realistic with the loadout, she flies and performs much better. Be interesting to hear what you normally load..... Look up some air to air refueling to see some IRL loadouts etc.

Have you considered the Core i9-7900X, 10 core / LGA 2066 or AMD? 2700X, 8 core or perhaps even Threadripper 16 core. 2080ti or two....possibly down the track? The problem I have at the moment with upgrading, is how will DCS perform with Vulkan and the possibilities of eating cores? I'm still lucky where my system is now, it's very capable. I would be in a real mess trying to decide on how to upgrade to a new system today. I will upgrade, I just don't know the best route for DCS and that's what I build my system around, everything else I use will be good I know that.;) This is my case here below, with a front mounted AIO (No std drives only M.2 and SSD's hidden behind the motherboard. She is generally very quiet when not running at max OC. I could use better fans to get it quiet, still good even in the fam room. Waiting to also see how the 2080ti preforms with the older 7700K in DCS... Get a gaming motherboard for more USB ports. 1 x USB 3.1 front panel connector port(s) 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 port(s) (2 at back panel, , Type-A + USB Type-CTM) 6 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 port(s) (4 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board) 6 x USB 2.0 port(s) (4 at back panel, black, 2 at mid-board) and I still use a powered hub. LOL

While on the FBW topic.. What stick pressure does the pilots feel in the F/A-18? Is it a linear pressure that gets stronger throughout all the flight envelopes or how much artificial feel is involved here? Keep your speed around 360kts, don't bleed off the speed to take the snap shot, always be prepared to get in a guns position always (Missiles fail, guns rarely jam). Fly lag pursuit to keep the speed up, don't go to fast either. Keep it under 400 so you can whip it when you need to. Practice;)
