Any chance we can get more details about what changes are coming. Are they strictly visual changes or underlying systems changing as well (e.g. suite upgrade, etc...)?
I would recommend Open Beta as well, it's surprisingly stable and gets updates much more frequently.
Worst case scenario you can always freely switch between Stable and Open Beta using procedures outlined here:
https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030
Try the manual update procedure:
1. Open Windows command prompt
2. Change into DCS_updater.exe directory (/DCS World/bin/)
3. Run the command:
DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta
Just an update for anyone else having trouble with the DCS_updater executable.
Use the manual update procedure:
1. Open Windows command prompt
2. Change into DCS_updater.exe directory
3. Run the command:
DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta
I'm with Bell but it's not that I'm downloading slowly, it's the the update won't start at all. When running the DCS_updater executable it loads into the game as if there is no update. I just figured that the update was being rolled out regionally and not worldwide all at the same time.
It was talked about in this thread. The volume was tweaked to be more realistic but there will be a volume setting for switches soon so you can modify to your liking.

I think it's a matter of manpower and efficiency. It's much more efficient for content creators to submit their projects to ED than it is for ED to go out hunting for content creators.
It makes sense. If you have something you feel would add to DCS, submit a ticket with your proposal and then ED will have someone from the appropriate team reach out to you.
"Everything is subject to change".
Like everything else, I guess we'll get it when it's ready. Hopefully sooner rather than later but no use getting it if it's not ready yet.
Make sure you're CDU is set to UTM
The 37T is not part of the coordinates. On the CDU, directly above the coordinates entry, it will either say 38T or 37T. This is where you enter it.
The coordinates in you're example would be: GG340792
Damn you guys are getting me excited. I wish I had time to fly tonight, gonna have to wait until tomorrow. It's these core improvements that I love the most. Thanks ED!
I think the poll results are quite obvious, and the thread presented an interesting conversation with good points made on both sides. I'm interested in seeing how ED handles these challenges in the coming years. Hopefully the right decisions are made for the long run.
Regardless on which side of the argument everyone is on I think it's safe to say we all want DCS to continue to get better and ED to succeed.
The problem with this is when a module is stuck in EA for 3-5 years and then taken out of EA before all the features are complete. All the while there are more EA modules being released further delaying the earlier released modules from being completed.
