  1. For me it seems like anytime there are ground units involved my FPS drops from a solid 40 to 20-30. Tested on small missions, and playing in VR using a Rift S.
  2. Yup, this really didn't sit well with me either.
  3. DCS WW1 sounds fantastic, but what sounds even more amazing is finishing and polishing the DCS we currently have please.
  4. +1 Yes please. Been hoping this would happen for many years.
  5. I've experienced this as well.
  6. Getting DCS to be truly stable and bug free is the eternal struggle, this has been going on as far back as I can remember. I just hate to see another broken link being added with all these half baked, half complete modules. And I say this coming from a good place, I want nothing but success for ED and DCS but something has to change
  7. I know ED is working hard. I know they have a lot on their plate. I know they are passionate about what they do. I appreciate all their hard work. But it really is beyond frustrating being stuck with an incomplete Hornet after years of development, and to add to that, watching development progress at a snail's pace.
  8. Agreed. I think this is the main issue. DCS needs to have a realistic weather simulation asap.
  9. The Hornet is honestly a fantastic module and worth every penny but as many have already mentioned it is still not feature complete and certain systems are quite buggy and need a lot of polish. That being said, it's a good time to get in on it with the Hornet/Carrier package being on sale if you dont mind dealing with an aircraft still in Beta, or alternatively, putting on the shelf for a while while its development progresses. I own the Hornet, among most other aircraft, but I really wish it would get all of the features completed and polished up. I just really don't enjoy learning systems and flight characteristics that I know will change down the road when they are eventually fixed, forcing me to basically get accustomed to them all over again.
  10. Agreed, I'm looking forward to core DCS improvements more than anything else.
  11. Apparently there are some big lighting changes coming to DCS in 2.5.6 to fix a lot of the general lighting deficiencies in the sim. This is one of the top 5 things I'm looking forward to and I hope we can finally get some good lighting in DCS.
  12. I'm also curious what this does. I've seen it recommended many times by lots of people.
  13. Yup sounds like it
  14. Both will work. IRL it takes a split second to reach over and hit that reset button but in DCS we have to use a mouse and a monitor (or VR) so it might be easier for some to use HOTAS instead, even if it is two button presses instead of one.
  15. Is the lighting update specific to the F18 ro is it a DCS World update?
  16. Excerpt from Nineline's quote in that link: "You need to think about what makes something more or less visible in the real world, and what about that is missing or needs improvement from ED, enlarging things isn't one of them." I think this is the main point. There are many things IRL that make spotting objects either easier or harder depending on the situation and these are missing from DCS or are just simply not done well enough. This is really what needs to be fixed.
  17. Ahh okay, thanks:thumbup:
  18. Just out of curiosity, what is the actual bug? (I.e. Does it show too much weight, too little weight, etc...)
  19. Damn that's too bad. Feels like a missed opportunity.
  20. If the Channel map and Normandy maps cover some different areas I wonder if they can be merged to include a single, larger, more detailed map?
  21. I've noticed this with all modules when using VR
  22. I think it's just a general DCS lighting problem
  23. I think I just saw this talked about in another thread a few days ago and it was said this this is not correct behavior, but I cant find the thread now so I'm not sure. My opinion is that it shouldn't exit RAID when cycling targets but that's just an opinion, I have no facts to back that up. Hopefully someone with some knowledge on the subject can clarify.
